인지도제적 범주화훈련이 유아의 지적 수준에 따라 범주행동에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Cognitive Apprenticeship on Categorizing Behavior by Intelligence in Kindergarten Children)

  • In this study, a random sample of 111 six-year-old children were assigned to one of 3 experimental conditions: categorization training using cognitive apprenticeship, categorization training using metacognitive procedures, and no categorization training. Level of intelligence was measured by Raven's(1986) Coloured Progressive Matrics(CPM). No difference was found between apprenticeship and metacognitive training in the high CPM children. In the middle and low CPM levels, cognitive apprenticeship training was more efficient than metacognitive training. This indicates that cognitive apprenticeship, which emphasizes the thinkaloud procedure of both the experts and the novice though modeling and coaching for self-implementation, is a more effective approach than the metacognitive approach for categorization in middle and low CPM children.

The Effect of Swiss Ball Program on Lower Extremity Function of Elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of swiss ball program training on lower extremity function of old elderly with mild cognitive impairment. The subjects were 30 mild cognitive impairment eldrly people aged between 65 and 80, who were divided into the swiss ball program training group(n=15) and the control group(n=15). The swiss ball program training group engaged in a 50-minute exercise session using. Lower extremity function scale of the two groups were measured before and after the intervention. The results are as follows. According to the swiss ball program training conducted to examine the effects of the training on lower extremity function, Moreover, the two groups showed significant differences in lower extremity function. These results indicate that virtual reality training is effective in improving lower extremity function. To conclusion, swiss ball program was found to have a positive effect on elderly lower extremity function. Swiss ball program training can be proposed as a form of fall prevention exercise for the mild cognitive impairment. Swiss ball program may be helpful to reduce the incidence of dementia and behavioral complications.

인지과제를 결합한 장애물 보행훈련이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형과 보행능력 및 일상생활동작에 미치는 효과 -단일사례연구- (Effect of Obstacle Walking Training Combined with Cognitive Tasks on Balance, Gait, and Activities of Daily Living in Patients with Stroke: A Single Case Study)

  • Purpose: This study aims to compare the effects of obstacle walking training combined with cognitive tasks on balance, gait, and activities of daily living in patients with stroke. Methods: A single-subject design was used, where one stroke patient participated. Obstacle walking training combined with cognitive tasks was performed for 1 hour per day for a total of 10 times during the intervention phase. The subjects were measured five times in the baseline phase, 10 times in the intervention phase, and five times in the follow-up phase. The outcome measurements included the Berg balance scale (BBS), the 10-meter walk test (10 MWT), and the Korean modified Barthel index (K-MBI). Results: In this study, the results showed that the 10 MWT scores during the intervention period improved and that this improvement remained, even during the post-period. In addition, BBS and K-MBI values for stroke patients increased significantly after training. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that obstacle walking training combined with cognitive task training may be helpful to improve balance, gait, and activities of daily living in stroke patients. Therefore, obstacle walking training combined with cognitive tasks is recommended for stroke patients.

  • 이 논문은 훈련의 난이도가 인지 기술의 습득과 전이에 미치는 효과가 인지 능력 수준의 개인차에 따라 어떻게 다른지를 실험을 통해 분석하였다. 인지 능력 측정 도구를 사용하여 실험 참가자들을 각기 다른 수준의 인지 능력을 갖는 세 집단으로 분류하였다. 각 집단의 실험 참가자들 중 반은 난이도가 높은 과제를, 나머지 반은 난이도가 낮은 과제를 수행하는 훈련을 받은 후, 모든 실험 참가자들이 훈련 과정에서 경험하지 알은 새로운 전이 과제를 수행하였다. 실험 결과를 볼 때, 인지 능력 수준이 훈련 수행에 영향을 주었으며, 또한 훈련의 난이도가 전이 수행에 미치는 효과도 인지 능력 수준에 따라 차이가 났다. 세 수준의 인지 능력 집단들 중 중간 수준의 집단이 훈련의 난이도에 따라 훈련 및 전이 수행에 가장 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이 실험 결과들이 개인차와 기술 전이 수행의 관점에서 논의되었다.

인지훈련 프로그램이 급성 허혈성 뇌졸중 환자의 인지기능과 일상생활 수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Cognitive Training Program on Cognitive Function and Activities of Daily Living in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a cognitive training program on neurocognitive task performance and activities of daily living (ADL) in patients who had a stroke. Methods: The research design for this study was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. Patients were assigned to the experimental (n=21) or control group (n=21). The experimental group received a 4-week cognitive training program and usual care (i.e., rehabilitation service), while the control was received usual care only. Cognitive function was measured with a standardized neurocognitive test battery and ADL was assessed at baseline and one and two months after completion of the intervention. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to determine changes in cognitive function and ADL over 2 months. Results: The interaction of group and time was significant indicating that the experimental group showed improvement in attention, visuospatial function, verbal memory, and executive function compared to the control group which had a sustained or gradual decrease in test performance. A significant group by time interaction in instrumental ADL was also found between the experimental group with gradual improvement and the control group showing no noticeable change. Conclusion: Findings show that the cognitive training program developed in this study is beneficial in restoring cognitive function and improving ADL in patients following a stroke. Further study is needed to investigate the long-term relationship between cognitive training participation and cognitive improvement and effective functioning in daily living.

갱년기 중년여성을 위한 앱 기반 인지훈련 프로그램의 효과 (Effect of Mobile App-Based Cognitive Training Program for Middle-aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 갱년기 여성들에게 취약하다고 알려진 기억력과 주의집중력, 언어기능을 증진시키기 위해 개발된 모바일 앱 기반 인지훈련 프로그램의 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 기억력 저하를 호소하는 만 40세에서 60세 사이의 갱년기 여성 40명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 모바일 앱 기반의 인지훈련은 8주간의 프로그램으로 회기당 20~30분, 3회/주 수행하여 총 24회기였다. 조사는 기초조사를 포함한 사전조사와 사후조사로 진행되었다. 연구변수는 객관적 인지기능(전반적 인지기능, 기억력, 주의집중력, 언어기능)과 주관적 인지기능, 삶의 질이었다. 연구결과 전반적 인지기능(t=-8.688, p<.001)과 기억력(t=-4.765, p<.001), 주의집중력 정반응수(t=-7.293, p<.001), 언어기능 중 고빈도 단어에 대한 정반응수(Z=-2.179, p=.036), 저빈도 단어에 대한 정반응수(Z=-2.737, p=.009), 삶의 질(t=-3.358, p=.002)은 모두 통계적으로 유의하였으나 주관적 인지기능은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 기능성 앱을 통해 제공되었된 인지훈련 프로그램은 인지기능을 향상시키는데 도움을 주었으며 전문가의 개입 없이도 가정에서 접근하기 쉬운 인지 중재도구로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Mental Exercises for Cognitive Function: Clinical Evidence

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the beneficial effects of a new cognitive intervention program designed for the care and prevention of dementia, namely Learning Therapy. The training program used systematized basic problems in arithmetic and Japanese language as training tasks. In study 1, 16 individuals in the experimental group and 16 in the control group were recruited from a nursing home. In both groups, all individuals were clinically diagnosed with senile dementia of the Alzheimer type. In study 2, we performed a single-blind, randomized controlled trial in our cognitive intervention program of 124 community-dwelling seniors. In both studies, the daily training program using reading and arithmetic tasks was carried out approximately 5 days a week, for 15 to 20 minutes a day in the intervention groups. Neuropsychological measures were determined simultaneously in the groups both prior to and after six months of the intervention. The results of our investigations indicate that our cognitive intervention using reading and arithmetic problems demonstrated a transfer effect and they provide convincing evidence that cognitive training maintains and improves the cognitive functions of dementia patients and healthy seniors.

경도인지장애 노인을 위한 지역사회 기반 다면적 인지훈련 프로그램 개발 및 효과평가 (Development and Evaluation of a Community based Multifaceted Cognitive Training Program for the Elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the effects of a multifaceted cognitive training program on cognitive function, depression, and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) in community dwelling elders with mild cognitive impairment. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The subjects were recruited from a community health center in D metropolitan city and were assigned to the experimental or control group. Weekly 50-minute session intervention was delivered to the experimental group over 12 weeks. 8 weeks and 12weeks after intervention, the changes in cognitive function, depression, and IADL in the groups were measured and compared. Data were analyzed with Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, and post-hoc test with Bonferroni correction using SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: When compared with their counterparts (n=15), the elders in the experimental group (n=12) showed significant improvement in cognitive function and depression at week 12. The mean scores of IADL at week 12 were not significantly different between the groups. Conclusion: The results indicate that this multifaceted cognitive training program is effective in improving cognitive function, depression, and avoiding deterioration of IADL among elders with mild cognitive impairment.

통합적 인지훈련프로그램의 노인 인지기능에 미치는 효과 (Effects of the Integrative Cognitive Training Program on Elderly Cognitive Function)

  • 본 연구는 통합적 인지훈련프로그램이 지역사회 노인의 인지기능에 미치는 효과를 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 비동등성 대조군 전후설계로 일 지역의 노인복지관을 이용하는 만 65세 이상 노인 중 56명을 실헙군과 대조군에 각각 28명씩 임의 배정하였으며, 실험군에는 2011년 9월 3주부터 12월 2주까지 1주 2회, 1회 90분씩, 12주간, 총 24회의 통합적 인지훈련프로그램을 적용하였다. 실험처치 전에 실험군과 대조군의 인적사항과 노인용인지검사를 실시하였으며, 실험처치 후에 다시 실험군과 대조군의 노인용인지검사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 통합적 인지훈련프로그램 실시 후 실험군의 노인용 인지검사(전체지능, 기초지능, 관리지능, 주의기능, 작업기억, 언어기억, 시공간력, 기억기능, MMSE-K1)점수가 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 상승된 것으로 나타났다(p< .05). 본 연구는 통합적 인지훈련 프로그램이 지역사회 노인의 인지기능을 향상시킬 수 있다는 점을 파악한 데 의의가 있다.

인지손상을 동반한 만성 뇌졸중환자의 메타인지전략 과제훈련의 적용이 작업수행과 고위인지기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Meta-cognition Strategy Task Training on Occupational Performance and High-Level Function of Chronic Stroke Patient with Cognitive Damage)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of the CO-OP program using cognitive strategy on the satisfaction and high-level cognitive function of chronic stroke patients with cognitive impairment with the existing task-oriented approach training method. Method: The group randomly selects the experimental group and control group from 30 patients who suffer cognitive damage due to brain damage, and then randomly presents the Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupative Performance (CO-OP) Results: The results of the study showed a significant increase in patient performance and satisfaction, task performance, and high-level cognitive functions in comparison to those before training (p<).05) There was no significant difference in CNT testing in controls; Although there were no significant differences in overall CNT testing between the two groups, the COPM, AMPS tests showed a significant increase in the experimental group compared to the comparators (p <.05). Conclusion: The Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupative Performance (CO-OP) Intervention Act, which uses meta-in strategies, was previously used. We were able to confirm that it could be a more effective intervention in task performance and high-level cognitive function than in the Meaningful Task-Specific Training Program (MTST).
