인지 무선 통신 환경에서 임의접속 기법의 전송 효율 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Random Access in Cognitive Radios)

  • 임의 접속(random access) 프로토콜은 기본적으로 센싱 기능을 가지고 있으며, 이것을 이용하여 분산형 무선 네트워크 시스템 구축에 적합한 특징을 가지고 있다. 이러한 기술적 특징은 중앙식 제어(centralized control)가 어려운 이기종 시스템들이 동작하는 인지 무선 통신 환경에 대하여 장점을 가지며, 인지 무선 통신 환경에서 임의 접속의 성능을 검증해 보아야 한다는 동기를 제공한다. 이 논문에서 우리는 인지 무선 통신 환경에서 CSMA/CA(carrier-sensing multiple access with collision avoidance)기법을 도입하고, 성능을 분석하는 기본 틀을 제공한다.

  • Rendezvous is a process of two or more cognitive radio nodes gathering on the same channel at the same time for a negotiation to establish data communications. This paper discusses rendezvous issues in cognitive radio networks. It details why rendezvous is an issue in cognitive radio networks and how rendezvous works. It classifies channel access methods, and details sequence-based channel-hopping methods. It surveys existing works on blind rendezvous and compares the proposed algorithms in terms of the maximum time to rendezvous. This paper discusses the properties that an efficient channel-hopping rendezvous algorithm should have and illustrates common issues in the existing rendezvous methods. It also explains open research issues in the rendezvous area.

인지적 맥락에 기반한 감정 평가 시스템 (An Emotion Appraisal System Based on a Cognitive Context)

  • The interaction of emotion is an important factor in Human-Robot Interaction(HRI). This requires a contextual appraisal of emotion extracting the emotional information according to the events happened from past to present. In this paper an emotion appraisal system based on the cognitive context is presented. Firstly, a conventional emotion appraisal model is simplified to model a contextual emotion appraisal which defines the types of emotion appraisal, the target of the emotion induced from analyzing emotional verbs, and the transition of emotions in the context. We employ a language based cognitive system and its sentential memory and object descriptor to define the type and target of emotion and to evaluate the emotion varying with the process of time with the a priori emotional evaluation of targets. In a experimentation, we simulate the proposed emotion appraisal system with a scenario and show the feasibility of the system to HRI.

  • SACOM(Simulation Analyser with Cognitive Operator Model) is being developed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute to simulate human operator's cognitive characteristics during the emergency situations of nuclear power plans. An operator model with error mechanisms has been developed and combined into SACOM to simulate human operator's cognitive information process based on the Rasmussen's decision ladder model. The operational logic for five different cognitive activities (Agents), operator's attentional control (Controller), short-term memory (Blackboard), and long-term memory (Knowledge Base) have been developed and implemented on blackboard architecture. A trial simulation with a scenario for emergency operation has been performed to verify the operational logic. It was found that the operator model with error mechanisms is suitable for the simulation of operator's cognitive behavior in emergency situation.

Effects of Different Advance Organizers on Mental Model Construction and Cognitive Load Decrease

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate why advance organizers (AO) are effective in promoting comprehension and mental model formation in terms of cognitive load. Two experimental groups: a concept-map AO group and a key-word AO group and one control group were used. This study considered cognitive load in view of Baddeley's working memory model: central executive (CE), phonological loop (PL), and visuo-spatial sketch pad (VSSP). The present experiment directly examined cognitive load using dual task methodology. The results were as follows: central executive (CE) suppression task achievement for the concept map AO group was higher than the key word AO group and control group. Comprehension and mental model construction for the concept map AO group were higher than the other groups. These results indicated that the superiority of concept map AO owing to CE load decrement occurred with comprehension and mental model construction in learning. Thus, the available resources produced by CE load reduction may have been invested for comprehension and mental model construction of learning contents.

멀티 클래스 인지 사용자 네트워크에서 신경망을 이용한 예측 연결수락제어 (A Predictive Connection Admission Control Using Neural Networks for Multiclass Cognitive Users Radio Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 인지망에서 멀티 클래스 인지 사용자의 서비스를 지원하기 위해 신경망 예측기법에 의한 예측 연결수락제어기법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법에서는 주 사용자가 도착하여 스펙트럼 핸드오프를 해야 하는 인지 사용자를 실시간과 비 실시간 사용자로 구분하고, 실시간 인지사용자에게 가드채널(guard channel)을 우선하여 사용하도록 한다. 이를 위해서 신경망 예측기법을 이용하여 주 사용자의 도착을 예측하고, 실시간 인지사용자가 스펙트럼 핸드오프 하는데 필요로 하는 채널의 크기를 예약하여 요구하는 서비스 품질(QoS)를 보장한다. 실시간과 비 실시간 인지사용자 연결을 위한 자원스케줄링 방법은 본 논문의 $C_IA$(cognitive user I complete access)방법을 사용하며, 연결 수락제어는 인지사용자에 대해서만 실시하여 주 사용자에게는 간섭이 없도록 한다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안한 연결 수락제어기법이 실시간 인지사용자가 원하는 서비스 품질을 보장할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • Human works shift its roll from physical condition to the system supervisory control task In this paper safety-presentation configuration is discussed instead of well-known fault-warning configuration. Of paticular interest was the personal factor which include the cognitive process. Through a performance between each person information processing(d') and decision process($\beta$) was pointed out to explain the sensitivity of personal cognitive process. Impact of uncertainty effect the supervisor having doubt situations. These facts are released by the use of flat fuzzy number of $\beta$ and its learning rate R.

  • In this paper, we propose a rendezvous mechanism for cognitive radio networks. In this mechanism, no prior knowledge of wireless nodes is required and it is totally distributed. Node can simply choose one of two strategies to rendezvous with its neighbors. The main benefit of this mechanism is eliminating the use of common control channel and centralized controller.

  • 본 논문에서는 CR(Cognitive Radio)의 가장 적합한 인공지능 기술로 주목받고 있는 게임 이론을 전력 제어 방식에 적용해 CDMA 시스템 기반의 사용효율과 효용에 대한 성능 평가 결과를 제시하였다. 사용자와 네트워크 동시 최적화를 위한 효용함수식을 정의하였으며 모의실험을 통해 FOM(Figure of Merit)과 형평성(Fairness)에서 기존의 폐루프 전력 제어 방식보다 월등한 성능을 입증하였다. 또한 게임 이론을 적용한 전력 제어 방식은 통신 환경을 인지하고 연산하여 적합한 최적의 서비스를 제공하는 CR의 여러 분야에 확장 적용 가능함을 제시하였다.

인간로봇 상호작용을 위한 언어적 인지시스템 기반의 비강체 인지 (The Cognition of Non-Ridged Objects Using Linguistic Cognitive System for Human-Robot Interaction)

  • For HRI (Human-Robot Interaction) in daily life, robots need to recognize non-rigid objects such as clothes and blankets. However, the recognition of non-rigid objects is challenging because of the variation of the shapes according to the places and laying manners. In this paper, the cognition of non-rigid object based on a cognitive system is presented. The characteristics of non-rigid objects are analysed in the view of HRI and referred to design a framework for the cognition of them. We adopt a linguistic cognitive system for describing all of the events happened to robots. When an event related to the non-rigid objects is occurred, the cognitive system describes the event into a sentential form and stores it at a sentential memory, and depicts the objects with a spatial model for being used as references. The cognitive system parses each sentence syntactically and semantically, in which the nouns meaning objects are connected to their models. For answering the questions of humans, sentences are retrieved by searching temporal information in the sentential memory and by spatial reasoning in a schematic imagery. Experiments show the feasibility of the cognitive system for cognizing non-rigid objects in HRI.
