Heteroepitxial p-n 접합을 위한 합리적 물질 설계

  • 산화금속은 높은 결정성, quantum size effect, 높은 투과도, 대기중의 안정도 등과 같은 탁월한 성질들로 인하여 오늘날 실리콘의 대체물로서 많은 연구가 보고되고 있다. 이러한 금속산화물의 크기와 모양을 조절하며 대량 생산하기 위한 합성방법으로 가수분해, 금속양이온 응축법과 같은 다양한 수용액상 방법이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 2차원 단일 층에 나노물질을 정렬하고 전기적 접합을 형성하는 것이 매우 어렵다는 점 때문에 나노물질을 기판 위에 자유롭게 성장시키는 방법에 대해서는 아직 많이 보고 되어있지 않다. 본 연구에서 저온의 수용액에서 1차원의 나노막대가 2차원의 스피넬 구조 위에 heteroepotaxial 접합을 이루며 성장시키는 방법을 이용하였다. P-n접합 형성을 위하여 (0001)방향으로 배향된 n-type ZnO 나노막대를 (111)방향의 p-type Co3O4 나노플레이트 위에 성장시킨 구조를 제작하였으며 이를 바탕으로 다이오드소자를 제작하여 ideal factor, turn-on voltage, rectifying ratio등의 전기적 특성을 평가하였다.

Chemical Properties of Co(II) Compound Containing Endocrine Disrupter, Bis-Phenol A

  • The chemical behavior and properties on the redox state of environmental pollutant has been investigated by electrochemical methods. We carried out to measure the variations in the redox reaction of differential pulse polarogram and cyclic voltammogram. The results observed the influences on redox potential and current of various factors with temperature and pH. These were established factors as the effect of the redox reaction. It can be clearly recognized that the electrode reaction are from qusi-reversible to irreversible processes. Also, it was mixing with reaction current controlled. The bits-phenol A in the waste water was made to compound with cobalt ion and it take away from the separation into compound. The $Co(BPA)_2$ compound was not found to be dissociation in waste water. However, this compound is avery unstable(K=1.02) and for a while, it was to be a dissociation. Therefore, we believed that it was likely to a toxic substance.

A 3D finite element static and free vibration analysis of magneto-electro-elastic beam

  • In this paper, free vibration and static response of magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) beams has been investigated. To this end, a 3D finite element formulation has been derived by minimization the total potential energy and linear constitutive equation. The coupling between elastic, electric and magnetic fields can have a significant influence on the stiffness and in turn on the static behaviour of MEE beam. Further, different Barium Titanate ($BaTiO_3$) and Cobalt Ferric oxide ($CoFe_2O_4$) volume fractions results in indifferent coupled response. Therefore, through the numerical examples the influence of volume fractions and boundary conditions on the natural frequencies of MEE beam is illustrated. The study is extended to evaluate the static response of MEE beam under various forms of mechanical loading. It is seen from the numerical evaluation that the volume fractions, loading and boundary conditions have a significant effect on the structural behaviour of MEE structures. The observations made here may serve as benchmark solutions in the optimum design of MEE structures.

  • Studies of Co(N-N)(3,6-DBSQ)(3,6-DBCat)(N-N=4,7-dimethyl-1 ,10-phenanthroline, 5-chloro-1,10-phenanthroline; DBSQ=di-tert-butylsemiquinonato; DBCat=di-tert-butylcatecholato) have been carried out on the bistability by intramolecular cobalt-quinone electron transfer in solid state. The title complexes dominantly exist as $Co^{III}$(N-N)(3,6-DBSQ)(3,6-DBCat) at room temperature and display a significant bistability on temperature variation. Subtle change in optical spectra and magnetic properties is observed when diimine ligands are changed.

  • Removal of metal ions on the ultrafiltration membrane with micellar-enhanced with anion surfactants is a recently developed technique which can remove heavy metals and small molecular weight ions from wastewater with simple separation process and without a phase change. Above a certain concentration, so called the critical micelle con binding cationic cobalt ions and anionic surfactants, were removed by ultrafiltration membrane. The transmembrane pressure difference had a relatively small effect on the rejection coefficient of metal ions on the ultrafiltration membrane whereas the level of anionic surfactant-to-metal ratio (S/M) had a substantial effect.

Effect of Carbon Content on the Shape of WC Grains during Liquid Phase Sintering of WC-Co Hard Metals (WC-Co 초경합금의 액상소결시 WC 입자형상에 미치는 탄소량의 영향)

  • The effect of carbon content on the shape of WC grains dispersed in the Co-rich matrix during liquid phase sintering of WC-35%Co hard metals has been determined. The shape of WC grains was observed using SEM stereography after removing cobalt matrix with boiling hydrochloric acid solution. The WC grains changed from hexagonal to trigonal prism as the carbon content increased in the two-phase region of(WC + $\beta$ - Co), while the morphology of WC grains changed from trigonal to hexagonal shape as the carbon content decreased. The morphology of WC grains changes reversibly along with carbon loss or carbon pick-up. Morphology change of WC grains is attributed to crystal structure of WC, which has an asymmetric array of carbon atoms. There are two types of prismatic planes having different numbers of broken W-C bonds in WC grains. It is scrutinized that as the carbon content increases, the high energy prism planes grow fast and the crystals change from hexagonal to trigonal shape. On the other hand, when the carbon content decreases, the high energy prism planes are dissolved accompanying split of (100) plane into (101) and (101) planes.

The effect on the Rf value by the number of thiocyanate radical in various thiocyanate ammine chromium complex salts (Thiocyanato ammine계 chromium complex salts에 있어 thiocyanato기의 수가 Rf치에 미치는 영향)

  • Various thiocyanatoammine chromium complex salts are prepared by the known methods and the Rf. value of these complex salts are determined by four developers. These four developers were used in the paper chromatographical work of cobalt complex salts by Yamamoto in 1954. It was also found that the developer A (Ch$_{3}$OH, acetone, NH$_{4}$OH) gave best results of these four developers and the decending development gave better results than ascending development in this experiment. In the case of decending development using developer A, it is found that the Rf. value is increased with the number of thiocyanate radical. The reason of this curious results can be explained that the thiocyanate radical in the complex ion is more active for the organic solvent than ammine radical. Shifting of electrons to the central metal and the charge of the complex ion can also effect ot the Rf. value but much questions are remained for the explanation of the above curious phenomenon. Separation of mixed sample is also studied for various mixture of the above complex salts. In the case of the mixture of hexammine and diammine complex salt, the clear separation is possible but in almost all other mixed sample, the results are not clear. Therefore it can be said that the results of this work can be used in the qualitative analysis of the individual complex salts, except the mixed sample of hexammine and diammine complex salts.

The Pathological Changes of Stomach in Experimental Rats following Single Irradiation of Supervoltage (고에너지 방사선으로 단일조사한 백서위의 병리조직학적 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The pathological changes of stomach of the rat following 1,000 rad and 1,800 rad single exposure by Cobalt-60 has been made with 50 experimental rats. The dose of 1,000 rad and 1,800 rad single exposure were equivalent of biologic effect of 2,500 rad in 2 1/2 weeks and 6,000 rad in 6 weeks. Following single exposure, the groups of rat were terminated in 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks intervals and the stomach were fixed to formalin solution immediatly after dissection. The pathological changes were as follows : 1. Following 1,000 rad single exposure, the stomach show only mild to moderate submucosal edema in 4,8,12 weeks group. 1 and 2 weeks group show no changes. 2. Following 1,800 rad single exposure, $32\%(8/25)$ of rats were dead by radiation effect and all other groups of stomach revealed variable pathological changes such as submucosal edema, squamous dysplasia, squamous papilloma as well as squamous cell carcinoma. 3. Optimal tolerance dose to the stomach was $4,500\~5,000$rad when irradiation given by supervoltage. The entire stomach was included within the irradiation field, the dose to the stomach should not exceed 6,000 rad. 4. In conclusion, the radiation injury to the stomach were more direct radiation effects to the gastric mucosa rather than secondary changes of radiation injured vessels.

  • In this study, the effect of ammonium chloride on the electrodeposition of CoP magnetic alloy film was investigated. The correlation between the electrodeposition condition and the magnetic properties was tried to elucidate by the electro- analytical tests such as cyclic voltammetry. It was observed that the magnetic properties of the films were varied extensively with the ammonium chloride contents in the solution. The reason why the magnetic properties of the films were varied with the addition of ammonium chloride was thought that the addition of ammonium chloride controlled the electrocrystallization of CoP kinetically by charge transfer and increased the grain size and the orientation factor. This may cause the variation of the magnetic properties of CoP films.
