The recycling technology by the catalytic conversion is one of the most promising techniques for the $CO_2$ treatment of coal burning power plant flue gases. The conversion of $CO_2$ to valuable product of $CH_4$ can be used as a fuel to run the turbine for electricity generation. Through this technique, the amount of coal needed for the combustion in a gas turbine can be reduced as well as $CO_2$ emissions. Therefore, a series of catalysts based on cerium oxide doped with copper, nickel and manganese were prepared by impregnation method. From the characterization analysis, it showed that the prepared catalysts calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ were amorphous in structure with small particle size in the range below 100 nm. Meanwhile, the catalyst particles were aggregated and agglomerated with higher surface area of $286.70m^2g^{-1}$. By increasing the calcination temperature of catalysts to $1000^{\circ}C$, the particle sizes were getting bigger (> 100 nm) and having moderate crystallinity with lower surface area ($67.90m^2g^{-1}$). From the catalytic testing among all the prepared catalysts, Mn/Ce-75/$Al_2O_3$ calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ was assigned as the most potential catalyst which gave 49.05% and 56.79% $CO_2$ conversion at reaction temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and $200^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Phosphors with oxide host material, YAG:$Ce^{3+}$ and $(Ca,Sr,Ba)_2SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ yellow phosphor, has been used for LED applications. The WLEDs using these phosphors are widely used for LCD backlighting, automobile, and general lighting applications since they have high conversion efficiency and good thermal and chemical stability which can meet necessary life time of LED products up to now. With advances of LED chip technology, the external quantum efficiency and driving current in chip get higher so that the phosphors for high power chip are required to maintain high conversion efficiency and stability at high temperature due to the heat dissipated from LED chips. In addition, higher color rendering index of LED lighting and color reproducibility of LCD than those of LEDs with single yellow phosphors are required. In order to overcome these technical issues rising from evolution of LED technology, new phosphors are in demand and nitride phosphors, one of the promising new candidate materials, will be discussed here.
This research project focused on the production of hydrogen through ammonia decomposition reactions while investigating how the reactivity of this process varies when employing different catalysts. Several metal oxide supports (Al2O3, La2O3, CeO2) were utilized as catalysts, with active metals from both the transition metal group (Co, Ni, Fe, Cr, Cu) and the noble metal group (Ru, Rh, Pd, Pt) impregnated onto these supports. Furthermore, the study examined how the reactivity evolves with changes in reaction temperature when employing the prepared catalysts. Additionally, the research delved into the distinctive activation energies associated with each of the catalysts. In this research, In the noble metal catalyst system, the order of high activity for ammonia decomposition reaction to produce hydrogen is Ru > Rh > Pt ≈ Pd. In the transition metal catalyst system, the order of high activity is Co > Ni > Fe > Cr > Cu.
In this paper, investigations of thick film $La_{0.75}Sr_{0.25}Ga_{0.8}Mg_{0.16}Fe_{0.04}O_{3-{\delta}}$ (LSGMF) cells fabricated via spin coating on either NiO-YSZ anode or $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}Ga_{0.6}Fe_{0.4}O_3$ (LSGF) cathode substrates are presented. A La-doped $CeO_2$ (LDC) layer is inserted between NiO-YSZ and LSGMF in order to prevent reactions from occurring during co-firing. For the LSGF cathode-supported cell, no interlayer was required because the components of the cathode are the same as those of LSGMF with the exception of Mg. An LSGMF electrolyte slurry was deposited homogeneously on the porous supports via spin coating. The current-voltage characteristics of the anode and cathode supported LSGMF cells at temperatures between $700^{\circ}C$ and $850^{\circ}C$ are described. The LSGF cathode supported cell demonstrates a theoretical OCV and a power density of ~420 mW $cm^2$ at $800^{\circ}C$, whereas the NiO-YSZ anode supported cell with the LDC interlayer demonstrates a maximum power density of ~350 mW $cm^2$ at $800^{\circ}C$, which decreased more rapidly than the cathode supported cell despite the presence of the LDC interlayer. Potential causes of the degradation at temperatures over $700^{\circ}C$ are also discussed.
$AB'_{0.5}B"_{0.5}O_3$ type complex perovskite structures which have been reported as proton conductors over $600^{\circ}C$ were studied. The $AB'_{0.5}B"_{0.5}O_3$ type complex perovskite structure is known to be more easily synthesized and has better stability than normal $ABO_3$ perovskite structure. And it is stable at about $800^{\circ}C$ in the $CO_2$ atmosphere, whereas the $BaCeO_3$ perovskite is easily decomposed into carbonate. In addition, this $AB'_{0.5}B"_{0.5}O_3$ type complex perovskite structure could simply produce oxygen vacancies within their structure not by introducing additional doping oxides but by just controling the molar ratio of $B'^{+3}$ and $B"^{+5}$ metal ions in the B site. Hence it is easy to design the structure which shows highly sensitive electrical conductivity to humidity. In this study, the single phase boundary of $BaR_{0.5+x}Ta_{0.5-x}O_{3-{\delta}}$(R = rare earth) complex perovskite structures and it's phase stability were investigated with changes in composition, x. And the humidity dependance of electrical conductivity at different $P_{H2O}$ conditions was investigated.
The doped-ceria is a strong candidate material for an intermediate temperature SOFC. However, the mechanical strength and the magnitude of electrical conductivity need to be increased at low sintering temperature. In this study, to improve both properties, $1at\% $ of Mg, Ca, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ga, and Zr were added to the GDC20 ($20at\%$ Gd-doped Ceria) and sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ that is $250^{\circ}C$ lower than $1600^{\circ}C$. With addition, the relative density of the sintered sample increased. Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Ga doped-GDC20 showed high relative density over $92\%$. Among them, Ga doped-GDC20 showed the most improved sinterability. The conductivity of dopedGDC20 increased by $\~10$ times at $300\~700^{\circ}C$.

The effects of partial pressures of various gases on the qualities of coated conductors are studied, where the long samples were fabricated in a vacuum of a large physical vapour deposition system. The various gases such as $0_25,$H_2$,H_20$,$C_n H_m$, and CO come out from the large heating system and gives somewhat complicated effects on the interfacial chemistry at CeO/Ni which Is Important for the epitaxial growth of the film. The results of XRD measurements on the films fabricated in the controlled partial pressures of thoes gases will be presented.
