  • The current behavior recognition system don't match data formats between sensor data measured by user's sensor module or device. Therefore, it is necessary to support data processing, sharing and collaboration services between users and behavior recognition system in order to process sensor data of a large capacity, which is another formats. It is also necessary for real time interaction with users and behavior recognition system. To solve this problem, we propose fog cloud based behavior recognition system for human body sensor data processing. Fog cloud based behavior recognition system solve data standard formats in DbaaS (Database as a System) cloud by servicing fog cloud to solve heterogeneity of sensor data measured in user's sensor module or device. In addition, by placing fog cloud between users and cloud, proximity between users and servers is increased, allowing for real time interaction. Based on this, we propose behavior recognition system for user's behavior recognition and service to observers in collaborative environment. Based on the proposed system, it solves the problem of servers overload due to large sensor data and the inability of real time interaction due to non-proximity between users and servers. This shows the process of delivering behavior recognition services that are consistent and capable of real time interaction.

  • A 3D point cloud map is an essential elements in various fields, including precise autonomous navigation system. However, generating a 3D point cloud map using a single sensor has limitations due to the price of expensive sensor. In order to solve this problem, we propose a precise 3D mapping system using low-cost sensor fusion. Generating a point cloud map requires the process of estimating the current position and attitude, and describing the surrounding environment. In this paper, we utilized a commercial visual-inertial odometry sensor to estimate the current position and attitude states. Based on the state value, the 2D LiDAR measurement values describe the surrounding environment to create a point cloud map. To analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm, we compared the performance of the proposed algorithm and the 3D LiDAR-based SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) algorithm. As a result, it was confirmed that a precise 3D point cloud map can be generated with the low-cost sensor fusion system proposed in this paper.

  • Cloud computing is a new service to provide dynamic, scalable virtual resource services via the Internet. Cloud market is available to multiple cloud computing resource providers and users communicate with each other and participate in market transactions. However, since cloud computing is facing with more and more security issues, how to complete the allocation process effectively and securely become a problem urgently to be solved. In this paper, we firstly analyze the cloud resource allocation problem and propose a mathematic model based on combinatorial double auction. Secondly, we introduce a trust evaluation mechanism into our model and combine genetic algorithm with simulated annealing algorithm to increase the efficiency and security of cloud service. Finally, by doing the overall simulation, we prove that our model is highly effective in the allocation of cloud resources.

  • Recently, the efficient management system for large-scale sensor data has been required due to the increasing deployment of large-scale sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a cloud-based sensor data management system with low cast, high scalability, and efficiency. Sensor data in sensor networks are transmitted to the cloud through a cloud-gateway. At this point, outlier detection and event processing is performed. Transmitted sensor data are stored in the Hadoop HBase, distributed column-oriented database, and processed in parallel by query processing module designed as the MapReduce model. The proposed system can be work with the application of a variety of platforms, because processed results are provided through REST-based web service.

  • Since satellite images generally include clouds in the atmosphere, it is essential to detect or mask clouds before satellite image processing. Clouds were detected using physical characteristics of clouds in previous research. Cloud detection methods using deep learning techniques such as CNN or the modified U-Net in image segmentation field have been studied recently. Since image segmentation is the process of assigning a label to every pixel in an image, precise pixel-based dataset is required for cloud detection. Obtaining accurate training datasets is more important than a network configuration in image segmentation for cloud detection. Existing deep learning techniques used different training datasets. And test datasets were extracted from intra-dataset which were acquired by same sensor and procedure as training dataset. Different datasets make it difficult to determine which network shows a better overall performance. To verify the effectiveness of the cloud detection network such as Cloud-Net, two types of networks were trained using the cloud dataset from KOMPSAT-3 images provided by the AIHUB site and the L8-Cloud dataset from Landsat8 images which was publicly opened by a Cloud-Net author. Test data from intra-dataset of KOMPSAT-3 cloud dataset were used for validating the network. The simulation results show that the network trained with KOMPSAT-3 cloud dataset shows good performance on the network trained with L8-Cloud dataset. Because Landsat8 and KOMPSAT-3 satellite images have different GSDs, making it difficult to achieve good results from cross-sensor validation. The network could be superior for intra-dataset, but it could be inferior for cross-sensor data. It is necessary to study techniques that show good results in cross-senor validation dataset in the future.

  • The interaction between wireless sensors such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud is a new paradigm of communication virtualization to overcome resource and efficiency restriction. Cloud computing provides unlimited platform, resources, services and also covers almost every area of computing. On the other hand, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has gained attention for their potential supports and attractive solutions such as IoT, environment monitoring, healthcare, military, critical infrastructure monitoring, home and industrial automation, transportation, business, etc. Besides, our virtual groups and social networks are in main role of information sharing. However, this sensor network lacks resource, storage capacity and computational power along with extensibility, fault-tolerance, reliability and openness. These data are not available to community groups or cloud environment for general purpose research or utilization yet. If we reduce the gap between real and virtual world by adding this WSN driven data to cloud environment and virtual communities, then it can gain a remarkable attention from all over, along with giving us the benefit in various sectors. We have proposed a Pub/Sub-based sensor virtualization framework Cloud environment. This integration provides resource, service, and storage with sensor driven data to the community. We have virtualized physical sensors as virtual sensors on cloud computing, while this middleware and virtual sensors are provisioned automatically to end users whenever they required. Our architecture provides service to end users without being concerned about its implementation details. Furthermore, we have proposed an efficient content-based event matching algorithm to analyze subscriptions and to publish proper contents in a cost-effective manner. We have evaluated our algorithm which shows better performance while comparing to that of previously proposed algorithms.

  • In this paper, we introduce the software/hardware system that can reliably calculate the distance from sensor to the model regardless of point cloud density. As the 3d point cloud map is widely adopted for SLAM and computer vision, the accuracy of point cloud map is of great importance. However, the 3D point cloud map obtained from Lidar may reveal different point cloud density depending on the choice of sensor, measurement distance and the object shape. Currently, when measuring map accuracy, high reflective bands are used to generate specific points in point cloud map where distances are measured manually. This manual process is time and labor consuming being highly affected by Lidar sparsity level. To overcome these problems, this paper presents a hardware design that leverage high intensity point from three planar surface. Furthermore, by calculating distance from sensor to the device, we verified that the automated method is much faster than the manual procedure and robust to sparsity by testing with RGB-D camera and Lidar. As will be shown, the system performance is not limited to indoor environment by progressing the experiment using Lidar sensor at outdoor environment.

  • An Internet of Things (IOT) sensor network is an effective solution for monitoring environmental conditions. However, IOT sensor networks generate massive data such that the abilities of massive data storage, processing, and query become technical challenges. To solve the problem, a Hadoop cloud platform is proposed. Using the time and workload genetic algorithm (TWLGA), the data processing platform enables the work of one node to be shared with other nodes, which not only raises efficiency of one single node but also provides the compatibility support to reduce the possible risk of software and hardware. In this experiment, a Hadoop cluster platform with TWLGA scheduling algorithm is developed, and the performance of the platform is tested. The results show that the Hadoop cloud platform is suitable for big data processing requirements of IOT sensor networks.

  • We investigate the optimization of energy consumption in Mobile Cloud environment in this paper. In order to optimize the energy consumed by the CPUs in mobile devices, we put forward using the asymptotic time complexity (ATC) method to distinguish the computational complexities of the applications when they are executed in mobile devices. We propose a multi-scale scheme to quantize the channel gain and provide an improved dynamic transmission scheduling algorithm when offloading the applications to the cloud center, which has been proved to be helpful for reducing the mobile devices energy consumption. We give the energy estimation methods in both mobile execution model and cloud execution model. The numerical results suggest that energy consumed by the mobile devices can be remarkably saved with our proposed multi-scale scheme. Moreover, the results can be used as a guideline for the mobile devices to choose whether executing the application locally or offloading it to the cloud center.
