Cloud amount calculation algorithm was developed using MTSAT-1R satellite data. The cloud amount is retrieved at 5 km ${\times}$ 5 km over the Korean Peninsula and adjacent sea area. The algorithm consists of three steps that are cloud detection, cloud type classification, and cloud amount calculation. At the first step, dynamic thresholds method was applied for detecting cloud pixels. For using objective thresholds in the algorithm, sensitivity test was performed for TBB and Albedo variation with temporal and spatial change. Detected cloud cover was classified into 3 cloud types (low-level cloud, cirrus or uncertain cloud, and cumulonimbus type high-level cloud) in second step. Finally, cloud amount was calculated by the integration method of the steradian angle of each cloud pixel over $3^{\circ}$ elevation. Calculated cloud amount was compared with measured cloud amount with eye at surface observatory for the validation. Bias, RMSE, and correlation coefficient were 0.4, 1.8, and 0.8, respectively. Validation results indicated that calculated cloud amount was a little higher than measured cloud amount but correlation was considerably high. Since calculated cloud amount has 5km ${\times}$ 5km resolution over Korean Peninsula and adjacent sea area, the satellite-driven cloud amount could show the possibility which overcomes the temporal and spatial limitation of measured cloud amount with eye at surface observatory.

Cloud computing offers a wide range of on-demand resources over the internet. Utility-based resource allocation in cloud data centers significantly increases the number of cloud users. Heavy usage of cloud data center encounters many problems such as sacrificing system performance, increasing operational cost and high-energy consumption. Therefore, the result of the system damages the environment extremely due to heavy carbon (CO2) emission. However, dynamic allocation of energy-efficient resources in cloud data centers overcomes these problems. In this paper, we have proposed Energy and Service Level Agreement (SLA) Aware Resource Allocation Heuristic Algorithms. These algorithms are essential for reducing power consumption and SLA violation without diminishing the performance and Quality-of-Service (QoS) in cloud data centers. Our proposed model is organized as follows: a) SLA violation detection model is used to prevent Virtual Machines (VMs) from overloaded and underloaded host usage; b) for reducing power consumption of VMs, we have introduced Enhanced minPower and maxUtilization (EMPMU) VM migration policy; and c) efficient utilization of cloud resources and VM placement are achieved using SLA-aware Modified Best Fit Decreasing (MBFD) algorithm. We have validated our test results using CloudSim toolkit 3.0.3. Finally, experimental results have shown better resource utilization, reduced energy consumption and SLA violation in heterogeneous dynamic cloud environment.
The existing methods for detection of fire smoke in a video easily lead to misjudgment of cloud, fog and moving distractors, such as a moving person, a moving vehicle and other non-smoke moving objects. Therefore, an algorithm for detection of fire smoke in a video based on wavelet energy slope fitting is proposed in this paper. The change in wavelet energy of the moving target foreground is used as the basis, and a time window of 40 continuous frames is set to fit the wavelet energy slope of the suspected area in every 20 frames, thus establishing a wavelet-energy-based smoke judgment criterion. The experimental data show that the algorithm described in this paper not only can detect smoke more quickly and more accurately, but also can effectively avoid the distraction of cloud, fog and moving object and prevent false alarm.

One type of network security breach is the availability breach, which deprives legitimate users of their right to access services. The Denial of Service (DoS) attack is one way to have this breach, whereas using the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is the trending way to detect a DoS attack. However, building IDS has two challenges: reducing the false alert and picking up the right dataset to train the IDS model. The survey concluded, in the end, that using a real dataset such as MAWILab or some tools like ID2T that give the researcher the ability to create a custom dataset may enhance the IDS model to handle the network threats, including DoS attacks. In addition to minimizing the rate of the false alert.

Cloud computing has emerged with promise to decrease the cost of server additional cost and expanding the data storage and ease for computer resource sharing and apply the new technologies. However, Cloud computing also raises many new security concerns due to the new structure of the cloud service models. Therefore, the secure user authentication is required when the user is using cloud computing. This paper, we propose the enhanced AdaBoost algorithm for access cloud security zone. The AdaBoost algorithm despite the disadvantage of not detect a face inclined at least 20, is widely used because of speed and responsibility. In the experimental results confirm that a face inclined at least 20 degrees tilted face was recognized. Using the FEI Face Database that can be used in research to obtain a result of 98% success rate of the algorithm perform. The 2% failed rate is due to eye detection error which is the people wearing glasses in the picture.
Accurate cloud discrimination in satellite images strongly affects accuracy of remotely sensed parameter produced using it. Especially, cloud contaminated pixel over ocean is one of the major error factors such as Sea Surface Temperature (SST), ocean color, and chlorophyll-a retrievals,so accurate cloud detection is essential process and it can lead to understand ocean circulation. However, static threshold method using real-time algorithm such as Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) can't fully explained reflectance variability over ocean as a function of relative positions between the sun - sea surface - satellite. In this paper, we assembled a reflectance spectral library as a function of Solar Zenith Angle (SZA) and Viewing Zenith Angle (VZA) from ocean surface reflectance with clear sky condition of Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) identified by NOAA's cloud products and spectral library is used for applying the Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) to detect cloud pixels. We compared qualitatively between AHI cloud property and our results and it showed that AHI cloud property had general tendency toward overestimation and wrongly detected clear as unknown at high SZA. We validated by visual inspection with coincident imagery and it is generally appropriate.

Clouds cause many difficult problems in observing land surface phenomena using optical satellites, such as national land observation, disaster response, and change detection. In addition, the presence of clouds affects not only the image processing stage but also the final data quality, so it is necessary to identify and remove them. Therefore, in this study, we developed a new cloud detection technique that automatically performs a series of processes to search and extract the pixels closest to the spectral pattern of clouds in satellite images, select the optimal threshold, and produce a cloud mask based on the threshold. The cloud detection technique largely consists of three steps. In the first step, the process of converting the Digital Number (DN) unit image into top-of-atmosphere reflectance units was performed. In the second step, preprocessing such as Hue-Value-Saturation (HSV) transformation, triangle thresholding, and maximum likelihood classification was applied using the top of the atmosphere reflectance image, and the threshold for generating the initial cloud mask was determined for each image. In the third post-processing step, the noise included in the initial cloud mask created was removed and the cloud boundaries and interior were improved. As experimental data for cloud detection, CAS500-1 L2G images acquired in the Korean Peninsula from April to November, which show the diversity of spatial and seasonal distribution of clouds, were used. To verify the performance of the proposed method, the results generated by a simple thresholding method were compared. As a result of the experiment, compared to the existing method, the proposed method was able to detect clouds more accurately by considering the radiometric characteristics of each image through the preprocessing process. In addition, the results showed that the influence of bright objects (panel roofs, concrete roads, sand, etc.) other than cloud objects was minimized. The proposed method showed more than 30% improved results(F1-score) compared to the existing method but showed limitations in certain images containing snow.
Based on the $850{\mu}m$ dust continuum data from James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT)/SCUBA-2, we compare overall properties of Planck Galactic Cold Clumps (PGCCs) in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud with PGCCs in other molecular clouds, Orion A and Orion B. The Orion A and Orion B clouds are well known active star-forming region, while, ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud has a different environment associating with prominent OB associations and a giant H II region. PGCCs in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud have higher dust temperatures (Td~16.08 K) and lower values of dust emissivity (${\beta}{\sim}1.65$) than Orion A and Orion B clouds. In addition, we found the lowest detection rate (16 %, 8 out of 50) of PGCCs at $850{\mu}m$ in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud while among three regions; Orion A and Orion B clouds show much higher detection rates of ~ 76 % (23 out of 30) and 56 % (9 out of 16), respectively. The detected 8 PGCCs in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud have substructures and we identified 15 cores. The cores also show much lower median values of size (~0.08 pc), column density (~ ), number density (~ ), and mass (~ ) compared with other cores in the Orion A and Orion B clouds. These core properties in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis cloud can be attributed to the compression and external heating by the nearby H II region, which may prevent the PGCCs from forming gravitationally bound structures and eventually disperse them. These results well present the negative stellar feedback to core formation.

In large-scale computing, cloud computing plays an important role by sharing globally-distributed resources. The evolution of cloud has taken place in the development of data centers and numerous servers across the globe. But the cloud information centers incur huge operational costs, consume high electricity and emit tons of dioxides. It is possible for the cloud suppliers to leverage their resources and decrease the consumption of energy through various methods such as dynamic consolidation of Virtual Machines (VMs), by keeping idle nodes in sleep mode and mistreatment of live migration. But the performance may get affected in case of harsh consolidation of VMs. So, it is a desired trait to have associate degree energy-performance exchange without compromising the quality of service while at the same time reducing the power consumption. This research article details a number of novel algorithms that dynamically consolidate the VMs in cloud information centers. The primary objective of the study is to leverage the computing resources to its best and reduce the energy consumption way behind the Service Level Agreement (SLA)drawbacks relevant to CPU load, RAM capacity and information measure. The proposed VM consolidation Algorithm (PVMCA) is contained of four algorithms: over loaded host detection algorithm, VM selection algorithm, VM placement algorithm, and under loading host detection algorithm. PVMCA is dynamic because it uses dynamic thresholds instead of static thresholds values, which makes it suggestion for real, unpredictable workloads common in cloud data centers. Also, the Algorithms are adaptive because it inevitably adjusts its behavior based on the studies of historical data of host resource utilization for any application with diverse workload patterns. Finally, the proposed algorithm is online because the algorithms are achieved run time and make an action in response to each request. The proposed algorithms' efficiency was validated through different simulations of extensive nature. The output analysis depicts the projected algorithms scaled back the energy consumption up to some considerable level besides ensuring proper SLA. On the basis of the project algorithms, the energy consumption got reduced by 22% while there was an improvement observed in SLA up to 80% compared to other benchmark algorithms.
We detected and analyzed molecular hydrogen fluorescence in the Taurus Cloud using the Far-ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS) on the STSAT-1 which was launched at SeP. 27 2003. FIMS is optimized for observing diffuse emission lines in the interstellar medium in the wavelength bands of 900-l150 and 1300-1700 angstrom. The Taurus region is a local molecular cloud which is good for studying molecular hydrogen fluorescence emissions. (omitted)
