This study investigated the difference of clothing-behavior for the same occasions in terms of a cross-cultural context. It analyzed clothing items worn by TED speakers via video at TED.com in the US, UK, France, Japan, and South Korea from October to December 2012. An analysis on the 233 videos showed considerable differences among countries. American speakers wore casual items on the top and formal wear on the bottom. Most British speakers wore the same styles on the top and the bottom outfits such as 'formal-top & formal-bottom' or 'casual-top & casual-bottom'. French speakers chose mix and match styles. The analysis was conducted on the basis of 310 couples responces. The result of this study ware as follows; 1. The majority of husband's clothing items were an absolute autonomic·decision product Exceptionally underwear was wife-dominated. The purchase influence structure of husband' s clothing purchase varied on stages in the decision making process. Wife was involved considerably in gathering information search and real purchasing stage. 2. According to the degree of husband and wife influence on discussion stage and final decision stage, consumers were categorized into five types. Husband's psychological characteristics such 3s shopping interest, clothing involvement, importance of mutual satisfaction in purchasing and demographic characteristics were significantly different among types.
As mobile phone has acquired a status of a fashion item expressing one's character, it is necessary to understand the fashion needs for this new fashion product. The purpose of this study was to apply the fashion orientation construct developed in the clothing research field to mobile phone and explore its validity. The multi-dimensional construct of fashion orientation which most widely represented the fashion aspects was examined for the two product categories of clothing and mobile phone. Data were collected from an online questionnaire survey, and a total of 1,136 responses were analyzed. The construct structure of fashion orientation of mobile phone resulted in individuality, innovation, and fashion was different from that of clothing extracted to interest/importance, fashion/innovation, and individuality. Fashion sensitivity and an early adoption of a new product were two different dimensions in mobile phone while not separable in clothing. Despite a higher predictability of the fashion/innovation orientation of clothing on fashion orientation rather than on innovation orientation of mobile phone, innovation orientation was more important to purchase behaviors of mobile phone. The study still implies that it is valid to use clothing fashion innovative consumers for mobile phone marketing.

This study investigates customers' possession, usage, and satisfaction of newborn clothing, and analyzes their satisfaction with textiles of baenaet jeogori (the most basic Korean item of newborn clothing). The survey was conducted on 102 mothers with infants under 24 months old. The baenaet jeogori was the most commonly possessed item, followed by swaddling blanket, shirt and pants set, bodysuit, one-piece, and baenaet gown. About 52.6% of respondents used the swaddling blanket all day, 52% of respondents possessed 4-6 baenaet jeogories, and most respondents used the baenaet jeogori 4 weeks or more. Two most important selection criteria of the baenaet jeogori were textiles and season suitability which are closely related to functionality. Respondents were satisfied with the baenaet jeogori; however, there are a few problems with difficulty in putting and taking off as well as textiles. Most baenaet jeogories chosen by respondents were made of cotton and 68.8% of them were made of eco-friendly textiles. Respondents were dissatisfied with textiles when they are unsuitable for the season. Eco-friendly textiles were chosen for baby health and eco-friendliness, and respondents were satisfied with a baenaet jeogori made of eco-friendly textiles in general. The results show customers' high interest in textiles and the popularization of newborn clothing made of eco-friendly textiles. There was little interest in eco-friendly or safety certification marks despite the significant interest in the functionality and safety of textiles. Therefore, correct information on those certification marks is required.
