다수 캐비티를 갖는 핫러너 금형에서의 균형충전을 위한 자동제어시스템 (A Closed-loop-control System for Filling Balance in the Hot Runner Mold with Multi-Cavities)

  • For mass production of plastics, injection molds have multi-cavities. However, filling imbalance between cavity to cavity always has occurred in multi-cavities mold, and this has caused low quality of plastics part. In this study, the closed-loop-control system which can control temperature of hot manifold and nozzle in hot runner mold for filling balance has been suggested, and a series of experiment about difference of filling time and weight in cavity-to-cavity was conducted. As a result of using closed-loop-control system, a remarkable improvement in reducing filling imbalance was confirmed.

초음속 연소기 내 공동 형상에 따른 유동 특성 (Flow Characteristics in a Supersonic Combustor with a Configuration of a Cavity)

  • 연소기 내부의 공동은 낮은 속도의 재순환영역과 유동의 진동을 일으켜 연료와 공기의 혼합 효율을 증대시키고, 화염을 유지함으로써 지속적인 연소를 가능하게 한다. 본 연구에서는 공동의 형상 인자에 따른 내부 유동의 특성을 실험과 2차원 전산해석을 통해 관찰하였다. 초음속 연소기 내 유동은 단순히 L/D 이외에도 다양한 공동 형상인자에 따라 크게 영향을 받는 것이 관찰되었다. 동일 L/D에서도 공동의 깊이에 따라 open과 closed 형태가 나타남을 확인하였고, 공동의 후방 경사각, 연소기 높이도 유동 특성이 달라지며, 이는 전압력 손실에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 2차원 open cylindrical cavity의 전자파 투과 및 산란특성에 대해 연구하였다. 이러한 구조는 cavity 및 aperture의 크기에 따라 전파의 투과나 산란특성에 특이한 현상이 나타남에도 불구하고 정확한 분석이 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 모멘트법의 확장형인 FMM 기법을 이용하여 비교적 광범위하게 open cavity의 특성을 계산하였다. 계산결과 open cylindrical cavity의 경우 closed cavity의 internal mode에 대응하는 external mode가 존재하고, 이때 공진 및 산란특성은 비공진시와 다른 특성을 나타냄을 확인하였다. 연구결과는 전자파의 차폐 및 RCS 통제분야에 응용할 예정이다.

외상성 횡경막 Hernia: 2례 보고 (Traumatic Diaphragmatic Hernia: A Report of Two Cases)

  • Two cases of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia are reported, who were operated on in this department during the last 12 months` period. The first case, a 34 year old male, fell from 6 meters` height while he was working on electric pole. He sustained rib fractures, left 8th, 9th and 10th rib, left diaphragmatic rupture and ileal perforation. In the pleural cavity, there were stomach, omentum, left lobe of liver, transverse colon and ileum, which were reduced into the peritoneal cavity, and the diaphragmatic aperture was closed through anterolateral thoracotomy. After closure of the thoracic incision, median abdominal incision was made and closed the ileal perforation by primary suture. The second case was a 19 year old tyre repairman, who felt abrupt severe abdominal pain during lifting a heavy lyre. A barium study revealed a marked displacement of the stomach into the left pleural cavity. Immediately, thoracotomy was performed and closed the ruptured diaphragm after reduction of the herniated stomach, omentum, transverse colon, spleen and small intestine. The size of the diaphragmatic aperture were measured 17cm. in first case and 12cm. in the other respectively. Both cases discharged after uneventful recovery.

CFD에 의한 2차원 밀폐캐비티의 임계레이놀즈수에 관한 연구 (A Study on Critical Reynolds Numbers of Two-Dimensional Closed Cavity by CFD)

  • Flow characteristics of two-dimensional closed square cavities near unsteady critical Reynolds numbers were studied numerically at five Reynolds numbers : 8${\times}10^3$, 8.5${\times}10^3$, 9${\times}10^3$, 9.5${\times}10^3$ and $10^4$ were investigated. A convection conservative difference scheme based upon SOLA to maintain the nearly 2nd-order spatial accuracy was adopted on irregular grid formation. Irregular grid number is 80${\times}$80 and its minimum size is about 1/400 of the cavity height(H) and its maximum is about 1/53 H. The result shows that the critical Reynolds number indicating the emergence of flow unsteadiness exists near Re=8.5${\times}10^3$ and their flow patterns reveal periodic fluctuation during transient and fully-developed stages.

  • Two-dimensional lid-driven closed flows within square cavity were studied numerically for four Reynolds numbers : $10^4$, 3$\times10^4$, 5$\times10^4$ and 7.5$\times10^4$. A convective difference scheme to maintain the same spatial accurary by irregular grid correction is adopted by applying the interior division principle. Grid number is $80\times80$and its minimum size is about 1/400 of the cavity height. At Re=$10^4$, periodic migration of small eddies appearing in corner separation region and its temporal sinusoidal fluctuation are represented. At three higher Reynolds numbers(3$\times10^4$, 5$\times10^4$ and 7.5$\times10^4$), an organizing structure of four consecutive vorticles at two lower corners is revealed from time-mean flow patterns. But, instantaneous flow characteristics show very random unsteady fluctuation mainly due to the interaction between rotating shed vortices and stationary eddies within the corners.

Water-Entry Induced Cavity Pressure

  • The pressure in a water-entry induced cavity, is analyzed up to the closed cavity (bubble). Water-entry is a highly transient phenomenon, and the evolution of the water-entry cavity must be explained by considering the entry speed, shape of the solid body, atmosphere pressure, and cavity pressure as the primary variables. This work is an extension of the cavity dynamics model recently reported by Lee (l997a). To extend the model for a wide range of entry speeds the cavity pressure is calculated from a one-dimensional quasi-steady flow model. The estimation of the cavity pressure allows us to explain the experimentally observed surface closure phenomena at low entry speeds. Predictions for the time of surface closure are compared with the published experimental data.

  • In this study a phase diagram has been used to investigate the unsteadiness of two-dimensional lid-driven closed flows within a square cavity for twelve Reynolds numbers; $7.5{\times}10^3,\; 8{\times}10^3,\; 8.5{\times}10^3,\; 9{\times}10^3,\; 9.5{\times}10^3,\; 10^4,\;1.5{\times}10^4,\;2{\times}10^4,\; 3{\times}10^4,\; 7.5{\times}10^4$ and $10^5$. The results indicate that the first critical Reynolds number at which the flow unsteadiness of sinusoidal fluctuation appears from the temporal variation of total kinetic energy curves is assumed of sinusoidal fluctuation appears form the temporal variation of total kinetic energy curves is assumed to be in the neigh-bourhood of $Re=8.5{\times}10^3$ The second critical Reynolds number where the periodic amplitude and frequency collapse to random disturbance being existed around $Re=1.5{\times}10^4$ The exponentially decreasing vortices formed at the lower two corners are found commonly at the time-mean flow pattern of $Re=3{\times}10^4$.

UBET를 이용한 축대칭 형단조 해석 (Analysis of axisymmetric closed-die forging using UBET)

  • 본 연구에서는 플래쉬(flash)를 가진 축대칭 리브-웨브형(rib-web type) 제품의 형단조가공을 해석하기 위한 UBET 프로그램을 개발하고 변형중의 경계 조건처리를 다르게 한 세 가지 유동모델에 대하여 소재의 유동상태와 단조하중을 계산하여 효과적인 유동모델을 제시하였다. 또한 체적은 같으나 반지름과 높이의 비가 다른 몇 가지 초기소재 형상에 대하여 변형에 따른 소재의 다이충만도 및 하중을 비교하여 적절한 초기소재의 형상을 찾고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 유동모델의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 플라스씬(plasticine) 소재를 사용한 실험과 그 결과를 비교, 분석하였다.
