Mokpo port marked the $131^{st}$ anniversary of its opening in 2018. while the Mokpo has taken the new port development initiatives, it is limited by inefficient port functioning due to the lack of maritime port policy and government investment. Hence, port logistics has not been activated. Additionally, studies on Mokpo port have not been conducted, and knowledge available on the port is declarative in nature. On the other hand, research on port competitiveness focuses on how to analyze the factors that determine port competitiveness. Therefore, this study was intended to expand the existing research on Mokpo port and conduct an analysis of non-competitiveness factors and suggested improvements by considering the operational aspect of Mokpo port. In this regard the importance of non-competitiveness factors was assessed through an analytic hierarchy process(AHP) analysis and the influence of the non-competitiveness factors was analyzed through an fuzzy structural modeling(FSM) analysis. The result of the AHP analysis show ed the important non-competitiveness factors included the deactivation of industrial complexes around Mokpo port, the number of liner route, the cost of the pilot and tug. Accor ding to the FSM analysis, the top level included the non-competitive factors at Mokpo port; the intermediate level included the number of liner routes, cost of pilot and tug, enrance and clearance fee, costs of inland transportation, fee for port facilities, and loading and unloading costs; and the bottom level comprised the most non-competitive factors including the deactivation of industrial complexes around Mokpo port, hinterland connectivity, access to international port, incentives, and cost of transportation and storage. Based on the results of analysis, improvements were suggested for non-competitive factors of Mokpo.

In order to investigate the effect of Naetakchungumsankamibang(NTCGS) water extract on the skin tumor induced by 3-MCA and immunological responses in mice, the cytotoxicity against SK-MEL-2 cells and total number of tumors induced by 3-MCA were measured. The numbers of WBC, platelets and RBC, plaque forming cells, hemagglutinin titer, hemolysis titer, carbon clearance, proliferation of splenocyte by thymidine uptake assay, splenic leukocyte by FACS analysis and $TNF-{\alpha}$ were also measured for the evaluation of the immunological responses. The results were obtained as follows: 1. In cytotoxicity against SK-MEL-2 cells, concentration inhibiting cell growth up to below $20\%$ of control was recognized at 1mg/ml of NTCGS. 2. In Inhibitory effect on the skin tumor induced by 3-MCA, the results showed a strong inhibitory effect of NTCGS. 3. In hematological changes in the tumor bearing mice, the numbers of WBC decreased significantly in NTCGS treated group as compared with control. 4. In hematological changes in the tumor bearing mice, the numbers of platelets increased significantly in NTCGS treated group as compared with control. 5. In hematological changes in the tumor bearing mice, the numbers of RBC increased with no significance in NTCGS treated group as compared with control. 6. Effects of the plaque forming cells in the tumor bearing mice, NTCGS treated group exhibited a significant effect compared with control. 7. In terms of the effects on hemagglutinin titer, NTCGS treated group showed higher level than control, without significance. 8. In terms of the effects on hemolysis titer, NTCGS treated group showed higher level than control, without significance. 9. In terms of the effects on phagocytic index K in Balb/C mice, NTCGS treated group showed significant difference from control. 10. In terms of the effects on proliferation of splenocyte by thymidine uptake assay, NTCGS showed significant effect at the concentration of 0.5mg/ml. 11. In terms of the effects on splenic leukocyte of Balb/C mice by FACS analysis, NTCGS treated group showed significantly higher level of helper T cell, B cell and macrophage than in control. 12. In terms of the effects on the secretion of $TNF-{\alpha}$, the treated group showed significant effect at the concentration of 1mg/ml of NTCGS. Based on the results summarized above, NTCGS is considered to have antitumor activity and immunological responses against skin tumor, and to be usable fur the treatment.

The purpose of this study is to develop basic data for the prevention of shipboard disasters and measures to improve the safety and health of seafarers by using a survey on the safety and health activities of seafarers. The questionnaire was administered to 437 people who have worked on a ship in the last six months. According to the results from the analyses (t-test, crosstab, and ANOVA), the level of safety and health activities of seafarers averaged at 68.82 points. The workplace clearance was the highest at 76.08 points, and the safety and health management system were the lowest at 62.78 points. As a result of the differences in the level of safety and health activities, the number of marine workers was higher than workers on land, and higher education was higher than lower education (p<0.01). It was higher for workers in coastal zones than for those in pelagic areas, and special cargo ships were higher than other ship types (p<0.01). Larger ships had a higher number of activities than small ships, and ships that were less than five years old had more activities (p<0.01). Therefore, in order to raise the level of safety and health activities of seafarers, it is necessary to develop safety and health education programs that take individual, job, and ship characteristics into consideration, and promote active safety and health activities on ships.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the knee and ankle joint kinematics and kinetics by comparing downhill walking with valley-shape combined slope walking. Method: Eighteen healthy men participated in this study. A three-dimensional motion capture system equipped with eight infrared cameras and a synchronized force plate, which was embedded in the sloped walkway, was used. Obtained kinematic and kinetic parameters were compared using paired two-tailed Student's t-tests at a significance level of 0.05. Results: The knee flexion angle after the mid-stance phase, the mean peak knee flexion angle in the early swing phase, and the ankle mean peak dorsiflexion angle were greater during downhill walking compared with valley-shape combined slope walking (p < 0.001). Both the mean peak vertical ground reaction force (GRF) in the early stance phase and late stance phase during downhill walking were smaller than those values during valley-shape combined slope walking. (p = 0.007 and p < 0.001, respectively). The mean peak anterior GRF, appearing right after toe-off during downhill walking, was also smaller than that of valley-shape combined slope walking (p = 0.002). The mean peak knee extension moment and ankle plantar flexion moment in late stance phase during downhill walking were significantly smaller than those of valley-shape combined slope walking (p = 0.002 and p = 0.015, respectively). Conclusion: These results suggest that gait strategy was modified during valley-shape combined slope walking when compared with continuous downhill walking in order to gain the propulsion for lifting the body up the incline for foot clearance.
Vitamin A and its metabolites modulate insulin resistance and regulate stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1), which are also known to affect insulin resistance. Here, we tested, whether vitamin A-mediated changes in insulin resistance markers are associated with SCD1 regulation or not. For this purpose, 30-week old male lean and glucose-intolerant obese rats of WNIN/GR-Ob strain were given either a stock or vitamin A-enriched diet, i.e. 2.6 mg or 129 mg vitamin A/kg diet, for 14 weeks. Compared to the stock diet, vitamin A-enriched diet feeding improved hyperglycemia and glucose-clearance rate in obese rats and no such changes were seen in lean rats receiving identical diets. These changes were corroborated with concomitant increase in circulatory insulin and glycogen levels of liver and muscle (whose insulin signaling pathway genes were up-regulated) in obese rats. Further, the observed increase in muscle glycogen content in these obese rats could be explained by increased levels of the active form of glycogen synthase, the key regulator of glycogen synthesis pathway, possibly inactivated through increased phosphorylation of its upstream inhibitor, glycogen synthase kinase. However, the unaltered hepatic SCD1 protein expression (despite decreased mRNA level) and increased muscle-SCD1 expression (both at gene and protein levels) suggest that vitamin A-mediated changes on glucose metabolism are not associated with SCD1 regulation. Chronic consumption of vitamin A-enriched diet improved hyperglycemia and glucose-intolerance, possibly, through the regulation of intracellular signaling and glycogen synthesis pathways of muscle and liver, but not associated with SCD1.

Glucose tolerance tests have been devised to determine the speed of blood glucose clearance. Diabetes is often tested with the standard oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), along with fasting glucose level. However, no single test may be sufficient for the diagnosis, and the World Health Organization (WHO)/International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has suggested composite criteria. Accordingly, a single multi-class trait was constructed with three of the fasting phenotypes and 1- and 2-hour OGTT phenotypes from the Korean Association Resource (KARE) project, and the genetic association was investigated. All of the 18 possible combinations made out of the 3 sets of classification for the individual phenotypes were taken into our analysis. These were possible due to a method that was recently developed by us for estimating genomic associations using a generalized index of dissimilarity. Eight single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that were found to have the strongest main effect are reported with the corresponding genes. Four of them conform to previous reports, located in the CDKAL1 gene, while the other 4 SNPs are new findings. Two-order interacting SNP pairs of are also presented. One pair (rs2328549 and rs6486740) has a prominent association, where the two single-nucleotide polymorphism locations are CDKAL1 and GLT1D1. The latter has not been found to have a strong main effect. New findings may result from the proper construction and analysis of a composite trait.

This research is conducted to evaluate the clinical and economic benefits from therapeutic drug monitoring(TDM) service on vancomycin in a tertiary general hospital. Total 99 pairs of steady state peak and trough concentrations of vancomycin were obtained from 73 patients. To see the clinical benefits, the appropriateness of vancomycin dosing before TDM was evaluated. In 72 pairs of vancomycin blood concentrations obtained prior to TDM consultation, $47.2\%$ of the cases had reached within therapeutic range. Serum vancomycin levels in patients with $40{\leq}CLcr<60$ (ml/min) were higher and than the levels in patients with 40>CLcr and $60{\leq}CLcr$ (ml/min). Dose reduction rate in patients with creatinine clearance $40{\leq}CLcr<60$ (ml/min) were also significantly higher than those of compared groups ($61.5\%$, p=0.0138). Serum vancomycin concentrations were re-obtained from 21 patients who received modified dose through TDM service. Ninety percent (19/21cases) of them were within the target therapeutic range. For the evaluation of economic benefits from TDM consultation, estimated cost savings were calculated in those patients. The total drug saving were 586 vials in 21 patients. The calculated mean cost saving from the drugs was 314,570 won (range: $11,273\sim473,466)$ per patient. The study revealed that TDM service for vancomycin is necessary because empirical dosing is not effective for obtaining therapeutic drug level, especially patients with mild renal insufficiencies. The cost saving from TDM is also beneficial for the patients.

In many real-time applications, security is another important requirement, since the secure real time database system maintains sensitive information to be shared by multiple users with different levels of security clearance or to be attacked by hackers with ill will. Encryption policies are necessary for the security of secure real-time database systems in addition to the existing security methods, too. However, there has not been much work for the encryption policies in secure real-time database systems, although sensitive information must be safeguarded in real-time systems as well. In this paper, we propose a encryption manager for the purpose of solving the encryption policies of the secure real-time database systems. What is important in the encryption policies of secure real-time database systems is security and timeliness. A significant feature of the proposed encryption manager is the ability to dynamically adapt a encryption algorithm that consider transaction deadline and security level.
A beta ray scanner was proposed for in-situ discrimination of beta and gamma ray radioactivity. This scanner is based on the principle that gamma and beta rays experience different changes in detection efficiency in scintillators with different geometries, especially with regard to the scintillator thickness. The ratios of the counting rates of gamma rays (Rgamma), beta rays (Rbeta), and sample measurements (Rtotal) in a thick scintillator to those in a thin one are reported. The parameter Xthick, which represents the counting rate contributed by beta rays to the total counting rate in the thick scintillator, was derived as a function of those ratios. The values of Rgamma and Rbeta for 60Co and 90Sr sources were estimated as 3.2 ± 0.057 and 0.99 ± 0.0049, respectively. The estimated beta ray contributions had relative standard deviations of 2.05-4.96%. The estimated range of the beta rays emitted from 90Sr was 19 mm as per the Monte Carlo N-Particle simulation, and this value was experimentally verified. Homogeneous and surface contaminations of 60Co and 90Sr-90Y were simulated for application of the proposed method. The counting rate contributed by the beta rays was derived and found to be proportional to the concentration of 90Sr-90Y contamination.

This study shows a development procedure and results of noise reduction for a new developed FF 8th speed automatic transmission. Based on planetary gear operating frequency analysis using PTA(planetary transmission analysis) program developed in 2012, It is expected that gear noise of the rear planetary gear set could be recognized easily in the concept design stage. Therefore, pRMC (planetary run many cases) analysis program that is developed in 2012 was applied to minimize the planetary gear noise level and noise distributions versus torque. To minimize noises coming from oil pump and final gears of a new transmission, several changes were applied, such as changing the clearance of double angular ball bearing, the oil pump rotor tooth number from 9 to 11 and the oil pump type from parachoid to megafloid and so on. Besides, stiffness values of the transmission case and the mount bracket were measured and reinforced properly. Finally, The total noise of the new FF 8th speed automatic transmission was developed successfully. Furthermore, E.O.L. testers also have been adapted to control the noise quality of automatic transmission assembly in the manufacturing factory. This paper could provide practical solutions to the automatic transmission NVH problems.
