For the past few years, the concern for clean energy has been greatly increased. Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion(OTEC) power plants are studied as a viable option for the supply of clean energy. In this paper, the thermodynamic performance of OTEC cycle was examined. Computer simulation programs were developed under the same condition and various working fluids for closed Rankine cycle, regeneration cycle, Kalina cycle, open cycle and hybrid cycle. The results show that the regeneration cycle using R125 showed a 0.17 to 1.56% increase in energy efficiency, and simple Rankine cycle can generate electricity when the difference in warm and cold sea water inlet temperatures are greater than $15^{\circ}C$. Also, the cycle efficiency of OTEC power plant using the condenser effluent from nuclear power plant instead of the surface water increased about 2%.
Purpose: Currently, since the energy consumption of apartment buildings is on the rise, it is necessary to reduce the total amount of the energy through the survey and analysis of energy consumption data. Although various studies for energy efficiency have been conducted, studies are more focused on the measurement of energy by using analysis tools. In addition, the studies are sufficient to analyze real data of the city gas in apartment buildings. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the property of annual and $1m^2$ city gas amount according to the exclusive dwelling area. Method: To achieve the objective, this study used the statistics such as descriptive, correlation, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) analysis. Result: As a result, there is positive relationship between the annual average of city gas and the exclusive dwelling area. However, in the case of $1m^2$ city gas amount, a negative relationship is mored. In the future, the findings of this study can be applied to develop the prediction model of the city gas consumption and implement it as basic data for energy efficiency of apartment buildings of future.
Solar energy is most green and clean, unlimited and sustainable energy source on the earth. It is almost 97% of imported consumer energy in Korea. Because of resource poor nation, it is necessary to do their best to make alternative energy to allot their deficiency of the matter in hand of energy resources of petroleum. In a point of view of this problems, the natural solar energy should be improved by any methods as much, possible as we need. Photovoltaic generation with solar tracking system for obtaining optimal power is one of most benefit equipment to improve power of solar-cell panel producing clean electric power efficiently. Solar tracker is a device for orienting a solar photovoltaic panel toward the sun perpendicularly to sunlight, especially in widely separated place. For this reason, we are very interested in developing the equipment system of tracker, specially in solar cell applications, obtaining a high degree of accuracy to ensure that the optimal sunlight could be directed precisely against to the powered device. As a result, it was obtained of 12.46 volts at 90$^\circ$toward solar panel and 9.44 volts at 45$^\circ$, furthermore, improved efficiency more than 30% of average output voltage between tracker system (12.41V) and fixed system (8.55V), respectively. It is also very useful for optimum power system of widely separated cave.

An energy crisis is expected in near future. Fossil fuel such as oil and natural gas has been used and will be no longer supplied enough to demand in the beginning of coming century. The use of the fuel makes a lot of environmental pollution to threaten human being's health especially in big cities and produces a lot of $CO_2$ to make green house effect of the earth. It is the time to use clean fuel such as hydrogen to prevent the expected energy crisis and the pollution. A new engine such as fuel cell can be used instead of the conventional internal combustion engine with 2 to 3 times higher efficiency of the conventional engine. The fuel cell uses hydrogen and oxygen and produces electric energy and pure water, which is a calm engine without air pollution. In big cities the city buses and the taxies powered by hydrogen fuel cells are suggested to be operated for clean environment. A model of the total energy system for production, transportation and utilization of hydrogen is calculated.

This study compares domestic and foreign research on renewable energy-based water electrolysis clean hydrogen. Domestic studies from 2010 to 2023 focused on technological efficiency, energy efficiency, and system efficiency, with few analyzing infrastructure and technology trends. Overseas research initially focused on technological efficiency and stability, but has since shifted to economic and environmental impact, policy effectiveness, industry-university-research cooperation, and sustainability. To improve water electrolysis technology production, this study suggests prioritizing technology stability over efficiency, resolving government regulations and resident acceptance issues, promoting industry-university-institute cooperation for rapid commercialization of research results, and developing a strategy for sustainable development of renewable energy-based water electrolysis technology.

A bubbling fluidized bed reactor was used to study $CO_2$ capture from flue gas using a sodium-based dry regenerable sorbent, sorbA which was manufactured by Korea Electric Power Research Institute. A dry sorbent, sorbA, consists of $Na_2CO_3$ for absorption and supporters for mechanical strength. $CO_2$ capture was effective in the lower temperature range of $50-70^{\circ}C$, while regeneration occurred in the range of $120-300^{\circ}C$. To increase initial $CO_2$ removal, some amount of steam was absorbed in the sorbents before injecting simulated flue gas. It was possible to remove most $CO_2$ for 1-2 minutes at $50^{\circ}C$ and residence time of 2 seconds with steam pretreatment. Little or no reduction in initial reaction rate and capture capacity was observed in multicycle tests. The carbonated and regenerated sorbent samples were analyzed by NMR to confirm the extent of reaction. The results obtained in this study can be used as basic data for the scale-up design and operation of the $CO_2$ capture process with two fluidized bed reactors.

Toluene of aromatic compounds, MEK of ketones and IPA of alcohols were extremely used as VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) on the getting into step with industrial process. The adsorption characteristics of three component solvent vapors (Toluene-MEK-IPA) on the activated carbonaceous adsorbents such as AC, ACF and AC+ACF were investigated in a stainless steel fixed bed adsorption experimental apparatus in order to identify those carbons for eliminating and recovering solvent vapors from industrial emission sources. The used activated carbonaceous adsorbents were pelletized commercial activated carbon and activated carbon fiber. The breakthrough curves and adsorption capacity have been obtained at atmospheric pressure in a adsorption fixed bed. It has been found that non-polar and larger molecules have been adsorbed better than polar and smaller molecules. Especially, alcohols and ketones were poorly adsorbed due to competitive adsorbability in ternary mixture system. However, it could be overcome by employment of activated carbonaceous adsorbent which have different porosity distribution appropriately.
Numerical study was investigated to obtain the database for developing a fast pyrolysis power boiler by waste fuel. The studies with various conditions were performed using ANSYS FLUENT. Also, the fuel properties was experimentally analyzed to utilize the input parameters for numerical analysis, that were proximate and ultimate analysis, reaction kinetics included pyrolysis and combustion. The results showed that temperature, combustion and exhausted gases was changed with heating value of fuel and feeding rate. Finally, the stable operating condition by analyzing results was proposed.
Wind is a significant and valuable renewable energy resource. It is safe and abundant and can make an important contribution to future clean, sustainable and diversified electricity supplies. Unlike other sources of energy, wind does not pollute the atmosphere nor create any hazardous waste. In some countries wind energy is already competitive with fossil and nuclear power even without accounting for the environmental benefits of wind power. The cost of electricity from conventional power stations does not usually take full account of its environmental impact (acid rain, oil slick clean up, the effects of climate change, etc). In this paper, a transient phenomenon simulation method for Wind Power Generation System(WPGS) under real weather conditions has been proposed. The simulation method is expected to be able to analyze easily under various conditions with considering the sort of wind turbine, the capacity of system and the converter system. Wind turbine connected to the synchronous generator and power converter was simulated.
