  • This paper presents the area classification, identification, and tracking for multiple moving objects with the similar colors. To do this, first, we use the GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model)-based background modeling method to detect the moving objects. Second, we propose the use of the binary and morphology of image in order to eliminate the shadow and noise in case of detection of the moving object. Third, we recognize ROI(region of interest) of the moving object through labeling method. And, we propose the area classification method to remove the background from the detected moving objects and the novel method for identifying the classified moving area. Also, we propose the method for tracking the identified moving object using Kalman filter. To the end, we propose the effective tracking method when detecting the multiple objects with the similar colors. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed algorithms through some experiments.

  • In this paper, a nobel method to reduce noise using voice/unvoice classification is proposed. Voice and unvoice are an important feature of speech and the proposed method processes noisy speech differently for each voice/unvoice part. Speech is classified into voice/unvoice using zero-crossing rate and energy, and a modified speech/noise dominant-decision is proposed based on voice/unvoice classification. The proposed method was tested on conditions of white noise and airplane noise, and on the basis of comparing segmental SNR with the existing method and listening to the enhanced speech, a performance of the proposed method was superior to that of the existing method.

  • This study proposes a classification method based on an automated training extraction procedure that may be used with very high resolution (VHR) images of non-accessible areas. The proposed method overcomes the problem of scale difference between VHR images and geographic information system (GIS) data through filtering and use of a Landsat image. In order to automate maximum likelihood classification (MLC), GIS data were used as an input to the MLC of a Landsat image, and a binary edge and a normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were used to increase the purity of the training samples. We identified the thresholds of an NDVI and binary edge appropriate to obtain pure samples of each class. The proposed method was then applied to QuickBird and SPOT-5 images. In order to validate the method, visual interpretation and quantitative assessment of the results were compared with products of a manual method. The results showed that the proposed method could classify VHR images and efficiently update GIS data.

  • In this paper, we proposed a postprocessing algorithm for quantization effects reduction in block coded images using the block classification and adaptive filtering. The proposed method consists of classification, adaptive inter-block filtering, and intra-block filtering. First, each block is classified into one of seven classes based on the characteristics of 8${\times}$8 DCT coefficients. Then each block boundary is filtered by adaptive inter-block filters according to the block classification. Finally for blocks which are classified into edge block, intra-block filtering is peformed. Experimental results show that the proposed method gives better results than the conventional methods from both a subjective and an objective viewpoint.

  • In this paper, we present a night-time vehicle detection method using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) classification. The camera based night-time vehicle detection plays an important role on various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as automatic head-lamp control system. The method consists mainly of thresholding, labeling and classification steps. The classification step is implemented by existing CIFAR-10 model CNN. Through the simulations tested on real road video, we show that CNN classification is a good alternative for night-time vehicle detection.

  • For detecting an intrusion based on the anomaly of a user's activities, previous works are concentrated on statistical techniques or frequent episode mining in order to analyze an audit data. But, since they mainly analyze the average behaviour of user's activities, some anomalies can be detected inaccurately. Therefore, we propose an anomaly detection method that utilizes an associative classification for modelling intrusion detection. Finally, we proof that a prediction model built from associative classification method yields better accuracy than a prediction model built from a traditional methods by experimental results.

  • Road traffic noise map is effective method to save cost and time for environmental noise assessment. Generally, noise is calculated by using theoretical equation of noise prediction, and the calculated result can be influenced by various input factors. Especially, domestic vehicle classification method for traffic flow and heavy vehicle percentage is different from that of foreign countries. Thus, this can cause effect on the noise prediction results. In this study, noise prediction results by using domestic vehicle classification method are compared with those by foreign methods.

  • In this paper, statistical approach is undertaken to investigate the classification of wear debris which is the key function of objective assessment of wear debris morphology. Wear tests are run to produce various kinds of wear debris. The images of wear debris from wear tests are captured with image acquisition equipment. By thresholding, two-dimensional binary images of wear debris are made and, then, morphological parameters are used to quantify the images of debris. Parametric and nonparametric discriminant method are employed to classify wear debris into predefined wear conditions. It is demonstrated that classification accuracy of parametric and nonparametric discriminant method is similar. The selected use of morphological parameters by stepwise discriminant analysis can generally improve the classification accuracy of parametric and nonparametric discriminant method.

  • The international raw silk grade classification method has been amended for several times since it has been created in 1932. S쳐h rather periodical changes have been raised as problems not because of it was created by scientifical research background or academical base but because of rather commercial aspect. This paper is, however, discussed by throughful academical aspect regardless raw silk sailers or buyers commercial interest. After carring a theoretical approach with thoroughful investigation on this matter, this paper happened to compare the current raw silk grade classification method against the developed theoretical silk grade classification method, which they happened to be much different each other. • In this research, we developed an efficient Hangul document classification system for text mining. We mean 'efficient' by maintaining an acceptable classification performance while taking shorter computing time. In our system, given a query document, k documents are first retrieved from the document case base using the k-nearest neighbor technique, which is the main algorithm of case-based reasoning. Then, TFIDF method, which is the traditional vector model in information retrieval technique, is applied to the query document and the k retrieved documents to classify the query document. We call this procedure 'CB_TFIDF' method. The result of our research showed that the classification accuracy of CB_TFIDF was similar to that of traditional TFIDF method. However, the average time for classifying one document decreased remarkably.
