Some problems with the definition, collection, organization, management and use of classics and some solutions for these aspects are presented in this study, in terms of the activation of classics department management. While trying to put these solutions together and to make some basic remedies, we lead to the following facts. First, the understanding on classics should be changed. The ideas that classics are very valuable, so they are only for preservation should be turned to that of making them actively used by the users. And policies as a result of positive interests should be established. Secondly, a written collection development policy statement should be maintained. All the regulations and policies on collection, organization, management and use of classics have to be expressed clearly in this document, in order for the positive and consistent activation of classics department. Thirdly, professional librarians who deal with classics are needed. In order for providing classics service efficiently, first of all, professional librarians who have professional knowledges on classics and are able to provide satisfactory services to their users are needed. And, Financial su n.0, pport for the classics department should be improved. At present, there are few financial su n.0, pports for the classics department in the common libraries. In this situation, it is very hard to activate the use of classics.

The Korean Medical Classics[KMC] which established in Sepember 20th, 1983. is a major society in Medical Classics. KMC has studied on classics and related branches such as "Neijing", "Nanjing", "Shanghanlun", "Jinkuiyaolue", "Dongeuibogam", "Dongeuisusebowon", etc. through The Journal of Korean Medical Classics[JKMC] that KMC published. This article is written on 727 articles of JKMC from 1983 to early 2010 and focused on tendency of studies on medical classics in KMC and JKMC.

For the purpose of profound comprehension of the Current education of Oriental medical classics in Korea, I investigated the results of direct survey of the Current education of Oriental medical classics from each professor, and came to following conclusions. 1. The education of Oriental medical classics mainly lasts for 2 years. Students have average 6.59 hours of lecture every week. The rate of full service professor reaches 74.4%. But the department of Oriental medical classics in every college takes charge of many subjects which are related to Oriental medical classics, so the appointment of large number of full service professor is essential for the improvement of educational environment of Oriental medical classics. 2. After the publishing of the common textbook of Oriental medical classics, it gradually became the main textbook. But it is necessary that we should complement the textbook and it is also necessary that we should develop another textbook for Nangyeong(難經). 3. Most professors emphasize on the cultivation of the ability which enables Oriental medical thought through precise comprehension of original text. By the way, for the purpose of motivation of studying Oriental medical classics, it is necessary to develop a lecture which is related to clinical medicine. From the same context it is also necessary to read clinical original text such as Dongui-bogam(東醫寶鑑) and Uihakimmun(醫學入門) in class.

Objective : This study was conducted to examine the scope and learning objective of Medical classics in the field of the education of Korean Medicine. Method : This study was analyzed and figured out list of classes which was taken by department of medical classics in eleven College of Korean Medicine and one school of Korean Medicine. Results & Conclusions : 1. Now, 14 subjects out of 16 subjects which were taken by whole department of medical classics in Korea can be a proper area of education of medical classics. Now, Hwangjenaekyung and Nangyeong are the only aim of the lessons at the medical classics. Therefore, we present to modify the aims inclusively. 2. The subject of the class have to change as follows. 'Wonjeon' changes into 'Hwangjenaekyung', 'Medical Chinese character' changes into 'Korean medical chinese character', 'medical informatics' changes into 'korean medical informatics'. 3. As we consider the condition that 'Nangyeong' is educating in just four departments of medical classics, we have to discuss about the stature of Nangyeong and to extend education of Nangyeong. 4. In the department of medical classics, we can improve the level of understanding and reading skills by educating the class of 'Sanghanron' and 'Donguibogam'. 5. This study is actively involved in trying to include 'Korean Medical Informatics' and 'Korean medical terminology ' in the education field of the medical classics.

In this paper, on the assumption that the dispute about the identity of Oriental Medicine(OM) will finally act as an developmental element of Oriental Medicine otherwise total Korean Medicine, at first we think about what are he meaning of identity and it's essential elements, and search how to establish the standard of the identity of Oriental Medicine. From this working, the direction of the research in the Oriental Medical Classics that is one of the detail field in OM will be drawn out. The identity of Oriental Medicine must be decided according to what is the mission or existence value contributing for Korean Society, not to the form of materiality or immateriality. The core of the identity of Oriental Medical Classics is relevant to being a help to other research fields through reinterpreting the Classics. And the most important issue of research are the analysis of thinking pattern In OM, and systematization of OM knowledge and information.

Objective : The college of Korean medicine uses a variety of Korean medical classics. Thus, in order to overcome the natural difference of the details of their curriculum, this paper aims to study the usage of Flipped Learning as a way of standardizing the curriculum that teach Korean medical classics. Method : One effective teaching and learning methodology, which is called for by the changing educational paradigm, is Flipped Learning. To introduce this learning method, which is actively applied to different curriculum, the paper revises the goal of learning objectives and introduces a teaching model of Flipped Learning in order to suggest the standardization of Korean medical educations through the re-design of the curriculum for Korean medical classics. Result : The professors of the Korean medical classics must work together to use the revised learning objectives and teaching model and create a set of lectures to serve as a basis of educational standardization. Conclusion : The standardization of the education of Korean medical classics through the Flipped Learning method could pre-emptively deal with the Korean medical doctor's capacity model that is in development now.

This study investigated the effectiveness of article writing as a mean to teaching the traditional medical classics. We used questionnaire to evaluate the usefulness of the curriculum, reason for difficulty and measures for improvement. The creative and reasonable thinking was the major reason for difficulty, and this article writing program could be a proper methods to tackle this. We also found that the educational system was not satisfactory since other educative programs were not focusing on this issue. This study showed that this article writing program can be a useful teaching tool for achieving the purpose of traditional medical classics curriculum after several improvements such as more personalized guidance and understanding of anatomy of an article, lesser time burden and easier database access.

Objectives : In this paper, characteristics of research methodology used in the field of Korean Medical Classics and its application was studied, with a focus on abductive reasoning that takes place in such methodology. Methods : First, the properties of the Korean Medical knowledge system, production, circulation and consumption of Korean Medical knowledge, methodology of knowledge production, reasoning of hypothesis, Medical Classics research methodology and its examples were examined. Afterwards, the relationship between Medical Classics research and Korean Medical Doctors's competence was studied. Results : The knowledge system of Korean Medicine, formed by a knowledge production group changes continuously not unlike a living organism. Knowledge is produced through Sang (象) within human consciousness that lies in an existential relationship between the knowledge producer and subject, through means of abductive reasoning. Conclusions : Creative knowledge production through abductive reasoning in the field of Korean Medical Classics will hopefully contribute to production of highly useful knowledge in clinical settings, complement and make change in the current Korean Medical knowledge system. Various teaching methods based on this research methodology will contribute to strengthening Korean Medical Doctors's competence as well.

Objective : Every language has twofold aspects in meaning of characters such as 'lead' means guide as a verb and 'lead' means one of metals. Chinese character has several meanings because it is phonogram, even if those are exactly same in shapes. we have concern how different meaning of the character 'Si(死)' is in traditional medical classics. Method : we try to find out the meaning of 'Si' excluding meaning of 'Si', 'death' in "Huangdineijing". Result : 'Si' means 'death' primary and means 'serious disease to death', 'losing consciousness just like death' and so on. Conclusion : Someone who have concern traditional medical classics have to give attentions that characters in classics could get different meanings in same character.

Objective : Each terminology has twofold meaning. Chinese character has several meanings because it is phonogram. Even if exactly same in shapes but the meaning is different. We should be more careful about meaning of the character Fu(胕) in Huangdineijing. Method : We try to find out the meaning of fu excluding meaning of fu(胕), edema(胕腫) in Huangdineijing. Result : Fu means fermented food, edema, sticking, skin, top side of the foot and so on. Conclusion : Someone who have concern traditional medical classics have to give attentions that characters in classics could get different meanings in same character.
