The Poly (4-vinyipyridine-co-styrene) membrane containing Pyridine as fixed carrier was synthesized and characterized. And the active transport mechanism of Cl- and $CCl_3COO^-$ with changing concentration of $H^+$ and $OH^-$ was investigated. $CCl_3COO^-$ was transported not only by a symport mechanism with $H^+$ transfer but also by an antiport mechanism with $OH^-$transfer, while $Cl^-$ was transported only by a symport mechanism with $H^+$ transfer. Observing the initial flux of anions, salt formation constant between ions and membrane (K), and diffusion coefficient in membrane (D) were calculated as follows: for $Cl^-, \;K=4.60{\times}10^2\;mol^{-1}{\cdot}\textrm{cm}^3, \;D=1.57{\times}10^{-3}{\textrm{cm}^2/h$ and for $CCl_3COO^-, \;K=1.l0{\times}10^4\;mol^{-1}{\cdot}\textrm{cm}^3, \;D=1.14{\times}10^{-4}{\textrm{cm}^2}/h$.
We studied the aquation reaction of s-cis-$[Co(eee)Cl_2]^+$ and s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+$ complex ions under the various temperatures and pressures. In these complexes eee is $NH_2-CH_2CH_2-S-CH_2CH_2-NH_2$. The rate law of the aquation reactions of these two complexes obeys $Rate = k_{obsd}$[CO(III)], where rate constants of s-cis-$Co(eee)Cl_2]^+$ and s-cis-$[Co(eee)Br_2]^+$ respectively are $0.687{\times}10^{-4}$$sec^{-1}$ and $4.10{\times}10^{-4}$$sec^{-1}$ in condition of 0.1M $HClO_4\;and\;40^{\circ}C$. In the same condition, the activation entropies of s-cis-[Co(eee)$Cl_2$]+ and s-cis-(Co(eee)Br_2$]+ complexes respectively are -15.5 eu and -7.54eu, and the activation volumes are $-4.6cm^3mole^{-1}$ and $-4.2cm^3mole^{-1}$. From these data, we could infer the mechanism of the aquation reaction as the interchange dissociation (Id) mechanism.

Effects of ion species on the expansion behavior of Poly(styrene sufonic acid)(PSSA) hydrogel were investigated in aqueous solution of selected anions, cations and hydrophobic ions. The deexpansion extent of Poly(stylene sulfonic acid) gel follow the sequence $SCN^-$<$Br^-$<$Cl^-$<$F^-$ in low concentration solutions due to the destabilization of anions to hydrogen bond between ${SO_3}^-$ and water. The deexpansion in cations followed the sequence of counterion interactions between ${SO_3}^-$ and cations. It was discussed the effects of ions on the hydrogen bonding through ${SO_3}^-$ and phenyl ring in salt solutions. Other interactions, such as the cation-${\pi}$ interaction, hydrophobic interaction, and dispersion force, contributed to the ion specific swelling of PSSA hydrogel.
Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/gelatin(GEL) blend membranes were prepared under a high electric field, and their swelling and ion permeation behaviors were investigated. For alkali metal salts such as LiCl, NaCl and KCl, the permeability coefficients were increased until the electric field of 10 kV due to the decreased tortuosity, whereas they were decreased over 10 kV owing to the increase of the degree of crystallinity. The swelling ratios of the blend membranes showed the minimum values at pH 6, while the permeability coefficients exhibited the maximum values at the same condition. The minimum swelling ratios result from the repulsion effect between charged groups in acidic or basic regions, and the maximum permeabilities result from Donnan exclusion effect in the same regions. Especially, the per-meability coefficient for KCl of the membrane increased steeply to five times at $40^{\circ}C$ than below $35^{\circ}C$.
Solid polymer electrolytes were prepared by UV irradiation of the blends consisting of poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO), epoxy diacrylate(EDA) and LiClO_4$. Conductivities of the electrolyte films were measured as a function or blend composition, salt concentration and temperature. The electrolyte having the composition of poly(ethylene oxide) (70% by weight)/epoxy diacrylate (30% by weight) with mole ratio of 10 of ethylene $oxide/Li^+$ exhibited a high ionic conductivity of $1.2{\times}10^{-5} S/cm$ at $25^{\circ}C$. This blend is transparent and shows elastomeric properties. Morphological studies by means of differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction and polarized optical microscopy indicated that the cured epoxy chains in the blends inhibit the crystallization of poly (ethylene oxide) and thereby induce the blend systems to be completely amorphous in certain compositions.
Polymer electrolyte films consisting of poly(vinylidenefluoride-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP), LiClO$_3$ and a mixture of ethylene carbonate (EC) and ${\gamma}$-butyrolactone (GBL) were examined in order to obtain the best compromise between high ionic conductivity, homogeniety, dimensional and electrochemical stability. Measurements of ionic conductivity, differential scanning calorimetry and linear sweep voltammetry have been carried out for various compositions. The highest conductivity of 3.8$\times$10$^{-3}$ S$cm^{-1}$ / at 3$0^{\circ}C$ were obtained for a film of 30(PVdF-HFP)+7.8LiClO$_4$+62.2EC/GBL. From the DSC study, it has been found that the PVdF-HFP gels are stable up to 10$0^{\circ}C$, and the salt lowers the melting temperature of crystalline part of PVdF by interacting sensitively with polymer segments. When Lithium metal is in contact with the gel films, it tends to undergo corrosion and the reaction products accumulate resulting in the formation of a passive film on Li electrode. As the aging time progresses, the interfacial resistance increases continuously. Anodic stability is measured to extend up to about 4.5 V vs. Li.
In the Cheju Island, there are high salinity water yield in the coastal area. There are various reason; the main reason is low-groundwater level by the structure of geology, and over-yielding etc. This study analysis water quality, the distribution of high salinity wells. 16 sample well logged the electronic geology survey. As result of distribution of Cl$^-$ is the East Area is high than other areas. Water quality test data divides 6 group by sea level of well bottom: over Om, Om~-1Om, -10~-20m, -20~-30m, -30~-40m, under -40m. According collect data of Kriging, and logged the electronic geology survey, and other survey are related chlorine(Cl$^-$). The map of Cl$^-$ distribution was made. Bukcheju Gun, Hallim Up, there are 2 wells prevent high salinity water. Both of well are effective grout sill salinity water intrusion aquifer.

Determination of iron(II) ion with a perfluorinated sulfonated polymer(nafion)-ethylenediamine(en) modified glassy carbon electrode was studied. It was based on the chemical reactivity of an immobilized layer(nafion-en) to yield complex $[Fe(en)_3]^{+2}$. The oxidation peak potential by differential pulse voltammetry(DPV) was observed at 0.340${\pm}$0.015 V(vs. Ag/AgCl). The linear calibration curve was obtained in iron(II) ion concentration range $5{\times}10^{-6}{\sim}0.2{\times}10^{-3} M(0.28{\sim}11.17\; mg/L)$, and the detection limit(3s) was $1.89{\times}10^{-5}$M(1.056 mg/L).
We investigated chloride ion effects on anodic dissolution of copper using potentiodynamic method, cyclic voltammtery, chronoamperometry and chronocoulometry. The anodic dissolution reaction of copper in NaCl solution under argon atmosphere is $Cu+2Cl^{-}{\rightleftharpoons}{CuCl_2}^{-}+e^-$ and chloride ion adsorption process in copper surface can be explained by Temkin isotherm.
Ion exchange performence to remove nitrate in water studied using commercially available strong vase anin exchange resin of $Cl^{-}$ type in the batch reactors. Anion exchange resin was more effective than activated carbon or zeolite. With large resin amount or high temperature or low initial concentration, nitrate removal characteristics for a typical gel-type resin was increased. The curves showed the generally accepted selectivity sequence as ${SO_4}^{2-}>{No_3}^->NO_{2-}>{HCO_3}^-$.
