This study was performed to report the effectiveness of oriental medical treatment on a patient with Guillain-Barre syndrome complaining both lower extremity weakness. The patient was diagnosed as Guillain-Barre syndrome and treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, physical therapy and herbal medicine. We have evaluated the efficacy of oriental medical treatment by measuring changes of motor grade and ambulatory condition according to period of hospitalization. After treatment, motor grade and ambulatory condition were improved. These results suggest that oriental medical treatment was effective on the patient with Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Objectives : The propose of this study was to observe the correlation between Cervical hypolordosis and radiological result. Methods : We randomly selected among the 110 patients with X-ray and C-spine MRI films who have visited Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine with neck pain. Radiographic measures of cervical lordosis and herniated disc were collected, and statistically analyzed. Results : In this study, if the finding of a X-ray showed straightening of cervical lordotic curve, based on MRI finging, the amount of herniation was more severe. Conclusions : There was a significant correlation between Cervical hypolordosis and herniated disc. Hypolordosis group complained a severe herniated disc.

This study was performed to report the effectiveness of oriental medical treatment on a patient with avascular necrosis of femur head complaining lower extremity pain. The patient was diagnosed as avascular necrosis of both femur head and treated with acupuncture, cupping therapy, physical therapy and herbal medicine. We have evaluated the efficacy of oriental medical treatment by measuring changes of visual analogue scale and range of motion according to period of hospitalization. After treatment, pain and range of motion were improved. These results suggest that oriental medical treatment was effective on the patient with avascular necrosis of femur head.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the opinions of Korean medical doctors on how to elucidate possible remedial measures for expanding the health insurance benefits coverage item of Korean medicine (KM). Methods: An online survey was conducted to all members who had registered e-mail address in the association of Korean medicine from 1 to 17 November, 2016. Statistical analysis was performed and odds ratio with 95% confidence interval were calculated by each subgroup. Results: A total of 743 members answered the questions and the response rate was 4.1%. The priorities for expanding health insurance benefits were as follows: thermographic imaging, Sasang constitution typing test, and pulse wave among examinations; pharamacopuncture, embedding acupuncture, and acupotomy among procedures; Chuna manual therapy, manual therapy for meridian muscle, and Daoyin exercise therapy among manual therapies; low-frequency electrical therapy, traction, paraffin bath, and light therapy among physical therapies; and aromatherapy, enema therapy, and color therapy among activities of KM. Conclusions: It should be covered by the national health insurance (NHI) of KM that thermographic imaging, pharmacoacupuncture, Chuna manual therapy, low-frequency electrical therapy, aromatherapy as a top priority. We also suggest that basic medical tests, such as blood, urine, or imaging, should be included in the coverage of the NHI of KM. It is necessary to review the expertise and public opinions about the plans and priorities for the conversion of the desired medical services to be covered by the NHI.

Objective : To report a case of cervical block vertebra with neck pain successfully treated with conservative Korean Traditional Medicine treatment with Thoracic Chuna Manipulation. Methods : A patient diagnosed with block vertebra was treated with Thoracic Chuna manipulation, acupuncture, pharmacoacupuncture, and herbal medicine. Numeric Rating Scale(NRS) and Neck Disability Index(NDI) scores were collected before and after treatment for comparison. Results : There was a significant decrease in NRS and NDI scores. The mean NRS score decreased from 8 to 1, and NDI from 50 to 8. Conclusion : Conservative Korean Traditional Medicine treatment appears to be effective for treatment of cervical block vertebra.

The object of this study is to report a clinical effect regarding the conservative treatment of the patients who were diagnosed as the herniated intervertebral lumbar disc(HIVD). The patients were treated by the oriental medical conservative treatment including acupunture, Bee venom therapy and Chu-na therapy. We estimated by visual analogue scale and pain rating score subjectively. And we examined the patients with SLR test and valsalva test. Oriental medical conservative treatment improved HIVD subjuctively and objectively.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the korean medical treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, especially taping therapy for carpal space expansion. Methods : Six patients were treated with acupuncture, moxibustion and kinesio taping therapy. To evaluate the pain and numbness of the palm and finger, visual analogue scale(VAS) and Phalen's test were used. Results : After about 10 to 20 times treatment, the pain and numbness of almost cases were remarkably removed. Also the VAS of post-treatment was reduced by 1.33(means). And the time being required to response to Phalen's test was signally prolonged, as 5 cases took over one minute. Conclusions : Korean medical treatment including expansion taping of carpal space as kinesio correction therapy is remarkably effective for carpal tunnel syndrome. But further studies are required to concretely prove the effectiveness of correction taping on other compressive neuropathy.

Objectives : To introduce the Jeongham Therapy which means a mandibul-rectifying treatment. And to show meaningful changes of thoracic kypkosis and lumbar lordosis by the Jeongham Therapy. Methods : We reviewed 8 patients having abnormal thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis who were treated at the JeongHam Korean Medical Clinic. We measured thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis by 3D Body Analyzer 'IBS 2000'. Results : Between before and after the Jeongham Therapy, statically significant differences were found in the thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis. And in these values of measurements, the thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis diminish after the Jeongham Therapy. Conclusion : These results suggest that the Jeongham Therapy is a meaningful therapy to diminish the thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis.

목적: 이 증례 보고는 성인 특발성 측만증 환자에 있어서 등의 통증과 척추 만곡에 대한 침 치료의 효과를 보고하기 위한 것이다. 방법: 증례의 환자는 25세 여자 환자로 9년 동안 우측 흉추 측만증과 등과 허리의 통증이 있었다. 1주일에 3번, 3주간 침 치료를 시행했고, 치료 전후로 Whole spine x-ray를 촬영하였으며, 환자의 통증 정도를 Visual Analog Scale(VAS)로 평가하였다. 내원시 Cobb angle은 $22^{\circ}$였고, 관상면 균형은 -3.0cm, 쇄골각은 $-3.5^{\circ}$였다. VAS 8의 통증을 호소하였다. 결과: Cobb angle은 $5^{\circ}$ 감소하였고, 관상면 균형은 1.4cm, 쇄골각은 $1.7^{\circ}$ 회복되었다. 등과 허리의 통증은 VAS 8에서 VAS 3으로 감소하였다. 결론: 침 치료는 특발성 척추 측만증 환자에 있어서 등과 허리의 통증뿐만 아니라 척추 측만을 개선시키고 관상면 균형 회복에도 효과적이다.
