다루기 힘든 만성창상의 치료에 구더기를 이용한 임상적 적용 (Clinical Application of Maggots in Chronic Difficult Wounds)

  • Purpose: Since ancient times, larval therapy has been applied to help wound healing. Its use has recently been rediscovered, and the interest in this therapy has been increased in clinical practice, as well as in research. The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of maggot therapy for the treatment of intractable, chronic wounds. Methods: Twenty patients, suffering mostly from chronic wounds were treated using maggots of greenfly (Phaenicia sericata). Sterile maggots were administered to the wound twice a week. The causes of the development of wounds were diabetic foot(14), trauma(3), plate exposure(1), and unknown origin(2). Results: Complete debridement was achieved in 10 wounds; in 8 wounds, the debridement was partially achieved; 2 patients escaped. Four patients were healed without any additional surgical procedures but fourteen patients were treated with skin graft. Pain, reported by six patients, was relatively well controlled with oral analgesics. Conclusion: We found larval therapy to be effective for chronic wounds. Maggot therapy is a relatively rapid and effective treatment, particularly in necrotic wounds or the wounds resistant to conventional treatment.

Effect of Cervical Corrective Exercises on Pain, Neck Posture, and Intersegmental Motion of Cervical Spine in a Patient With Cervical Radiculopathy: A Case Report

  • This case report describes the effectiveness of cervical corrective exercises in a patient with cervical radiculopathy (CR) who experienced radicular pain, upper limb paresis, and limited functional activity. A 39-year-old male with cervical radiculopathy performed the cervical corrective exercises for reducing pain. Pain intensity, cervical posture, and active range of motion of cervical intersegmental spine motion were measured baseline, after 4 weeks, and after 8 weeks with self-reported questionnaire and radiographs. After 8 weeks of intervention, the patient demonstrated alleviated radicular symptoms, improved neck posture and active range of flexion and extension of the cervical intersegmental spine. Especially in the angle between the cervical vertebra 6 and 7, the angle was changed from $-4.69^{\circ}$ to $3.30^{\circ}$ during resting position after intervention. The present case indicates that the cervical corrective exercises might be a possible treatment to effectively reduce radicular symptoms, improve neck posture, and active cervical intersegmental motion for patient with CR.

정상 성인에 대한 정량적 무릎힘줄반사 검사의 측정자간 신뢰도 (Inter-Rater Reliability of Quantitative Knee Tendon Reflex Test for Healthy Subjects)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate inter-rater reliability of the amplitude and first knee extension angles in deep tendon reflex test by using an electrical hammer. Twenty-five healthy adults participated in the study. Compound muscle action potential is elicited by tapping the knee tendon with an electrical hammer in deep tendon reflex tests. The amplitude and knee extension angle were simultaneously measured. The mean value of the amplitude and the knee extension angles through three time trials for each tester, are used for determining the inter-rater and Intra-class Correlation Coefficients (ICCs) reliabilities. According to the results, the ICCs of the amplitude is .280 and that of the knee extension angle is .789. Pearson correlation coefficients of the amplitude of the action potential and the knee extension angles are .685, showing significant statistically moderate correlation. Inter-rater reliability in the amplitude was not significant. More objective and quantitative deep tendon reflex tests should be done to obtain higher reliability in further studies.

간호학생들의 돌봄에 대한 지각 (Nursing Students' Perceptions of Caring)

  • Caring, according to Leininger, is the essence of nursing : it is the central and unifying domain of science and practice of nursing. The problem addressed by the this study was to explore nursing students' perceptions of caring. The purpose was to provide theoretical understanaling at how students conceptualize caring througout the three years of their educational preparation. The subjects for this study were 343 nursing students of one three - year Christian college of nursing in a major regional city in Korea. The data were collected from May 6 to 25, 1991, through an open - ended questionnaire. The data analysis used was descriptive method. Validity was strengthened by confirmations with by a doctoral candidate and three other nursing professors. From the data, 557 descriptive statements were organized into 70 taring behavior patterns and 16 categories of taring. The 16 categories were helping, comfort, love, concern, support, being present, protection, health maintenance, fulfillment. warmth, Instruction, empathy, trust, sharing, restoration and nurturance. The five categories primarily reported by first year students were, In order, helping, comfort:. restoration, protection, and love, by second year students, helping, comfort, love, being present, and support : and by third year students, helping, comfort, love, concern, and support. Instruction, empathy, trust, sharing and nurturance were least reported by the students. Instuction, trust and nurturance were not expressed by first year students. The Korean nursing student's concepts, of caring appeared to be similiar to Leininger's caring constructs but warmth and fulfillment were specified by these students. Theoretical understanding of concepts central to nursing contributes to the development at the discipline.

  • Software education is inevitable for the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and university education also requires innovation to cope with revolutionary change of the society. The number of students seeking employment in the IT field is steadily increasing regardless of the major of the student. However, the existing software-related courses offered by universities or private educational institutions are limited. This paper analyzes the existing software curriculum of several major universities for non-IT major students. In addition, in-depth surveys by students at Seoul Theological University is conducted to figure out the demand for the advanced level computer science subjects. Finally, new software education curriculum is proposed to fulfill the needs of non-IT major students and to improve the employment rate of non-IT major students seeking tech companies. The new curriculum will help to cultivate intermediate level IT experts that bridge the gap between advanced level IT experts and primitive level computer technicians.

A Computerized Doughty Predictor Framework for Corona Virus Disease: Combined Deep Learning based Approach

  • Nowadays, COVID-19 infections are influencing our daily lives which have spread globally. The major symptoms' of COVID-19 are dry cough, sore throat, and fever which in turn to critical complications like multi organs failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, etc. Therefore, to hinder the spread of COVID-19, a Computerized Doughty Predictor Framework (CDPF) is developed to yield benefits in monitoring the progression of disease from Chest CT images which will reduce the mortality rates significantly. The proposed framework CDPF employs Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) as a feature extractor to extract the features from CT images. Subsequently, the extracted features are fed into the Adaptive Dragonfly Algorithm (ADA) to extract the most significant features which will smoothly drive the diagnosing of the COVID and Non-COVID cases with the support of Doughty Learners (DL). This paper uses the publicly available SARS-CoV-2 and Github COVID CT dataset which contains 2482 and 812 CT images with two class labels COVID+ and COVI-. The performance of CDPF is evaluated against existing state of art approaches, which shows the superiority of CDPF with the diagnosis accuracy of about 99.76%.

  • Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are interchangeable rights to digital assets such as art, in-game items, collectibles or music, etc. NFTs have the potential to be infinitely useful in many industries by increasing security and processing costs for transactions and providing a new platform for the gigeconomy to work through. Its markets have grown fast and significantly since early 2021. We investigate the uses of NFTs and research the facts and figures on the usage of NFTs supporting websites. Using daily data between 2019 to 2021. NFTs took the world by storm in 2021, bringing forth a digital art revolution while becoming one of the fastest-growing asset classes of the year. While the NFTs market has been growing at a rapid pace, many are still wary of entering it because of the theoretical insanity around its worth. NFTs have been out there for quite some time and this trend doesn't plan to go any further. NFTs services have many practical use cases and their potential will only grow over time. While celebrities dive into this marketplace to maintain their onlinepresence andincrease their Net worth.

등속성 운동 시 근전도 주파수 분석에서 얻은 피로지수의 특성 (Characteristics of the Fatigue Index in EMG Power Spectrum Analysis During Isokinetic Exercise)

  • In rehabilitation programs involving muscle re-education and endurance exercise, it is necessary to confirm when fatigue occurs. It is also necessary to quantify fatigue, to confirm whether the muscle has been exercised sufficiently. In general, as fatigue occurs, the force-generating ability of the muscle is reduced. If the median frequency (MDF) obtained from electromyogram (EMG) power spectrum is correlated highly with work, then the timing and degree of fatigue may be confirmed. This study examined the relationship between work and MDF obtained from the EMG power spectrum during repetitive isokinetic exercise. Surface EMG signals were collected from biceps brachii and vastus lateralis of 52 normal subjects (26 males, 26 females) at $120^{\circ}/sec$ and $60^{\circ}/sec$ while performing an isokinetic exercise. The exercise was finished at 25% of peak work. MDF data was obtained using a moving fast Fourier transformation (FFT), and random noise was removed using the inverse FFT, then a new MDF data was obtained from the main signal. There was a high correlation between work and MDF during repetitiv isokinetic exercise in the biceps brachii and vastus lateralis of males and the biceps brachii of females (r=.50~.77). However, there was a low correlation between work and MDF in the vastus lateralis of females (r=.06~.19).

온라인 학습에서 자기주도학습능력, 상호작용 및 수업만족도의 구조적 관계 (Structural Relationship among Self-Directed Learning Ability, Learner-Instructor Interaction, Learner-Learner Interaction, and Class Satisfaction in Online Learning Environments)

  • 코로나 19로 인해 온라인 학습으로 대표되는 학습 방법의 변화가 보편화 되고 있는 지금 본 연구는 온라인 학습자의 자기주도학습능력, 교수자-학습자 상호작용 및 학습자-학습자 상호작용, 수업만족도의 관계를 구조적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구결과 고등학생과 대학생 집단 모두 온라인 학습자의 자기주도학습능력은 학습자-학습자 상호작용을 증가시켰으며, 또한 높아진 학습자-학습자 상호작용은 수업만족도를 증가시켰다. 변인 간의 잠재평균비교분석을 통해 대학생과 고등학생 집단 간 변인들의 통계적 유의미한 평균 차이를 확인할 수 없었지만, 다집단 분석을 통해 고등학생의 경우 자기주도학습능력이 수업만족도와 교수자-학습자 상호작용에 직접적인 영향을 주지 않았고, 대학생의 경우 모두 유의미한 영향을 주었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 온라인 학습의 수업만족도 향상을 위한 자기주도학습능력과 학습자-학습자 상호작용의 중요성을 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제안점을 논의하였다.
