  • A bio-composites were prepared by mechanical mixing with bioactive sol-gel derived $CaO-SiO_2$ and organic PEEK for bone repairing hybrid materials. The composites were characterized by in-vitro test. A bonelike apatite was formed on the surface of all bio-composites in SBF test. The cell morphology and adhesion on the surface of the composites having below 30% PEEK were clearly observed in L929 cell experiment.

  • Effect of H2 spillover rate as function of reduction temperature on reaction kinetics was evaluated. Reaction kinetics including yield, conversion, activation energy and selectivity of 1-butene isomerization over Pt/HxMoO/SiO were measured as reaction temperature was increased. While conversion of 1-butane was decreased, yield of iso-butene was increased. Two kinds of reaction mechanism were proposed from the change of selectivity as function of temperature.

  • PTC Thermistors specimens were fabricated by added $MnO_2$ as donors, and $Nb_2O_5$ as acceptors and sintered $1250^{\circ}C$/2hrs. Average grain size decreased with increased in added $MnO_2$, and increased with added in $Nb_2O_5$. But, appeared liquid phase as $Bi_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$, affect to grain growth. XRD result, peak strength was lowed then crystallization not well, but, secondary phase were not showed all specimens. All specimens resistance were so high, about $40M{\Omega}$ over, couldn't measured to those resistance and doesn't appear PTCR effect.

  • $LiTaO_3$ single crystal has been studied for surface acoustic wave(SAW) applications. There are two kinds of $LiTaO_3$ single crystals, stoichiometric $LiTaO_3$ (SLT) and congruent $LiTaO_3$ (CLT). These two crystals show quite different dielectrical properties, which might be related with defects in crystals. In this study, we observed the domain boundary of SLT and CLT with scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy and discussed the stress distribution in $LiTaO_3$ single crystals.

  • Reactions of $MoOCl_5^{2-}$ with $[PW_{11}O_{39}]^{7-}\;and\;[SiW_{11}O_{39}]^{8-}$ have been studied spectrophotometrically and several transient complexes have been discovered. Transient species initially formed are probably $[Mo_2O_4(PW_{11}O_{39})_2]^{12-}\;and\;[Mo_2O_4(SiW_{11}O_{39})_2]^{14-}$. Spectra change gradually, indicating formation of transient isomers of $[PMoW_{11}O_{40}]^{4-}\;and\;[SiMoW_{11}O_{40}]^{5-}$, which again transform into the stable isomers. The transient isomers absorb light much more strongly than the stable isomers in the visible range.
