Background: Many stroke patients receive traditional medical care in Korea and China. Stroke patients comprise the largest proportion of inpatients in traditional Korean medicine and traditional Chinese medicine hospitals. The purpose of this study is to identify the types and effects of Chinese medicine widely used in China and Korea, and to apply them to future studies of stroke. Methods: Nine Korean and Chinese databases will be surveyed for clinical studies of herbal medicines for stroke, published between the inception of the database and August 2017. Clinical studies of decoctions or modified decoctions will be included without restriction on study type. The frequencies and patterns of formulas or single herb usage and the any type of herbal medicine utilization will be analyzed. Dissemination: The results of the systematic review will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and disseminated electronically and in print. Updates of the review will be conducted to inform and guide healthcare practices.
Chinese medical science with long history has experience and theory of cure and prevention as well as the perfect different system with western medicine. Western medical science also was introduced in recent times and has been used in fast development in China extensively. Therefore only China that coexist oriental and western medicine is used the term, the integration of oriental and western medicine. Its object is to make better treatment and prevention value with utilizing their strong point and weak point. That is, its great principle is to develop through interchange together without interference in the other science. For mutual growth of both medical science, national concern and support, medical staffs, administrative system and a lot of fruits, etc should be arranged simultaneously. This paper was obtained the as follows. 1. The system of public health administration is composed a sanitary department for a western medicine and a managing agency for a chinese one in the center. There are each local organization under the control both agency in the locality 2. The importance of the integration of chinese and western medicine is to get the merit of special chinese system through the interchange of both medicine and union with modem science and chinese pharmacy. 3. It is the long term and great project. So its important study field is illness treatment and cure, oriental medical remedy and theory, acupuncture and moxibution etc. 4. It makes steady progress in all the healthy medical field. It has studied its foundation, the education of medical staffs, scientific study and strengthening of skill management considerably. 5. The products are the development of new chinese medicines and many researches about traditional chinese medical science. In brief, the integration of chinese and western medical science is the historical stream. Besides it will contribute toward the cure and prevention of human illness for future 21 century.

Objective: In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effects of enzymolysis fermentation of Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) on egg production performance, egg quality, lipid metabolism, serum reproductive hormone levels, and the mRNA expression of the ovarian hormone receptor of laying hens in the late-laying stage. Methods: A total of 360 Hy-Line Brown laying hens (age, 390 days) were randomly categorized into four groups. Hens in the control (C) group were fed a basic diet devoid of CHMs, the crushed CHM (CT), fermented CHM (FC), and enzymatically fermented CHM (EFT) groups received diets containing 2% crushed CHM, 2% fermented CHM, and 2% enzymatically fermented CHM, respectively. Results: Compared with crushed CHM, the acid detergent fiber, total flavonoids, and total saponins contents of fermented CHM showed improvement (p<0.05); furthermore, the neutral and acid detergent fiber, total flavonoids, and total saponins contents of enzymatically fermented CHM improved (p<0.05). At 5 to 8 weeks, hens in the FC and EFT groups showed increased laying rates, haugh unit, albumin height, yolk color, shell thickness, and shell strength compared with those in the C group (p<0.05). Compared with the FC group, the laying rate, albumin height, and Shell thickness in the EFT group was increased (p<0.05). Compared with the C, CT, and FC groups, the EFT group showed reduced serum total cholesterol and increased serum luteinizing hormone levels and mRNA expressions of follicle stimulating hormone receptor and luteinizing hormone receptor (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results indicated that the ETF group improved the laying rate and egg quality and regulated the lipid metabolism in aged hens. The mechanism underlying this effect was likely related to cell wall degradation of CHM and increased serum levels of luteinizing hormone and mRNA expression of the ovarian hormone receptor.
In the Oriental Medicine field the great three reference books are Hwantienaekyung(黃帝內徑, HJNK), Sihnnongbonchokyung(神農本草經, BCK) and Shanghanlun(SHR). HJNK has been a theory book regarded as a bible of the Oriental Medicine, BCK, a herbal book with 365 species of red letters noticed from Bonchokyungjipjoo(本草經集註) and SHR, very important clinical book with concrete prescriptions for the therapy of patients. Though these books were written by Chinese people ca. 2000 years ago, yet they are no doubt very important and effective ones in these days. Unfortunately they are handed down to all transmitted books for a long times because original ones were destroyed by fire and another troubles. In this study we have tried to extract three common terminological words and common theories from the prescription law by theoretical principles(理法方藥, clinical therapeutic mechanism) acquired through the comparative analysis of these three books. They are qi(氣), cold or heat(寒熱) and yin & yang(陰陽), and their practical basic theories have been evidenced through exterior & interior of body(表裏) and deficiency or exessiveness(虛實) by the heat of Sun. Also we would have realized that Oriental Medicine should be analyzed through various scientific techniques and clinical experiences, and necessarily unified to yin & yang monism from qi theory of the Sun in all human's life cycle(生老病死).
BACKGROUND: A new analytical method has been developed to determine 261 pesticide residues in herbal medicines. METHODS AND RESULTS: The extraction of pesticides was carried out by modified method of the Korea Food Standards Codex sample extraction and determination was performed using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS. During the pre-treatment process of the test method, Solid-liquid separation was changed to centrifugation. The method was validated by the precision and accuracy results. 261 pesticides spiked at three level 20, 50, 100 ug/kg in herbal medicines. The limit of quantification of method were 4-40 ug/kg for GC-MS/MS and 2-45 ug/kg for LC-MS/MS, respectively. Among the pesticides analysed by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS, 244 pesticides (94% of total number) in chinese matrimony vine and 224 pesticides (86% of total number) in korean angelica root and 231 pesticides (89% of total number) in jujube and 214 (82% of total number) in cnidium showed recoveries in the range of 70-120% with RSD⪯20%. CONCLUSION: These results indicated that GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS analysis with the sample extraction in this study can be applied to multi-residue analysis of pesticides in herbal medicines.

Chronic prostatitis is a common disease among male. However, its cause and treatment are not known and it does easily come to the patients again after some treatment. Chinese has got an active research on chronic prostatitis of traditional Chinese medicine. We researched the Chinese publications from 2003 to 2013. After translating those publications, we analyzed total 64 publications by classifying those according to frequently used prescriptions, differentiation of symptoms, signs, addition and subtraction of each medicine and the quantity of frequently used medicines. Frequently used medicines were statistically analyzed. The prescription of chronic prostatitis was classified according to its stage. Paljeongsan(八正散) or Yongdamsagan-tang(龍膽瀉肝湯) was used during the early stage of chronic prostatitis, Sobokchukeo-tang(少腹逐瘀湯) or Hyeolbuchukeo-tang(血府逐瘀湯類) was used during the middle stage, and Jibaekjihwang-tang(知柏地黃湯) or Gyebujihwang-tang(桂附地黃湯) was used during the late stage. The most frequently used medicine was Phellodendri Cortex(黃柏), mentioned 43 times in the prescriptions. This analysis report would be able to provide the basis of taking a research on chronic prostatitis. In addition, it could be applied on a stereotype of chronic prostatitis as well as a variety of symptoms with frequently used prescription and addition and subtraction of each medicine.
Cordyceps has been used as a tonic for replenishing vital function in Chinese traditional medicines. As an attempt to obtain fundamental data for the kidney function, MeOH Ex. and its hexane. ethyl acetate, butanol and water fractions of cultivated Cordyceps pruinosa on mercuric chloride induced renal failure rats were investigated. Urin volume. blood parameters(urea nitrogen. uric acid. creatinine) and urinary electrolytes content (natrium. potassium. chloride) were determined. MeOH extract and butanol fraction showed diuretic effect. (omitted)
"Chung Wi Dan" is a Chinese patent medicine, which is used for various purposes in Korea. According to traditional publications, they are mixtures of several powders made of herb medicines. Chung Wi Dan of 19 kinds of powder is used for catarrh of the gastrointestines, indigestion, a pain in the chest. nausea. For the identification of individual ingredients in such powdery mixtures, microscopic method may advantageously be used as it requires only a small amount of specimens. (omitted)

Enzymes involved in catecholamine synthesis are present in the highest concentration in the adrenal medulla, however they were found also in other, mainly nervous tissues. Increased transcription of genes for catecholamine biosynthetic enzymes is an important mechanism to increase the capacity for epineprine/norepinephrine biosynthesis with stress. Gastrodia elata(Chinese name: Tienma), are very important Chinese herbal medicines used for the medical treatment of headaches, migraine, dizziness, epilepsy, rheumatism, neuralgia, paralysis and other neuralgic and nervous disorders. Immobilize stressed rat markedly increased tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) mRNA and dopamine-${\beta}$-hydroxylase (DBH) mRNA transcriptior level more than control group. But treated Gastrodia elata extracts in immobilized stressed rat slightly increased TH mRNA and DBH mRNA transcription level more than normal group. In addition, we are obtained identical results in PC12 cell line. Decrease of transcription level of TH mRNA and DBH mRNA is indicating that Gastrodia elata have a anti-stress effects which decrease the transcription level of TH and DBH mRNA on catecholamine biosynthesis pathway.

Spiraea japonica L. F., a plant species belongs to the Spiraea genus of Rosaceae family, has seven varieties. There are all varieties distributed in Yunnan province of China, and S. japonica var. acuminata and S. japonica var. fortunei were used as the folk medicines to treat malaria and inflammation etc.. Since 1960s, Japanese and Russian scholars obtained C$\_$20/-diterpenoid alkaloids from S. japonica L.F., also Chinese scholars got a series of Hetisine-type C$\_$20/-diterpenoid alkaloids from S. japonica var. fortunei in 1985. Since then, we started the chemical and pharmaceutical studies of this complex. Here we wish to report the bioactive effects of spiramine alkaloids and their derivatives on the platelet aggregation induced by AA, PAF, or ADP.
