  • The purpose of this study is to develop the Global Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model (Global CGE Model) in order to produce an economic impact analysis, including prospective obligations for the Post-2012 regime. This model explores the impact of an international emissions trading market and macroeconomic variables such as GNP, consumption, investment, imports and exports, in accordance with potential increased obligations on the Republic of Korea. Distinguishing it from existing studies, this Global CGE Model divides the global community into major economic groups, and in the capacity of the analyzed global model, reflecting the principle nations' macroeconomic indicators through the theoretical approach of endogenous growth theory. Policies such as an emissions trading scheme and carbon tax are reflected in the model. Also, in particular, the model reflects exogenous technological advances. According to this analysis, the stronger the greenhouse gas reductions, the greater the adverse effects on the economy; among macroeconomic indicators that appear, a significant decline is realized in the balance of trade, along with a significant decrease in investment and consumption. Energy dependence, in particular, plays a large role-varying in degree by industry type-, as greenhouse gas reductions would have a greater impact on energy-intensive industries. Furthermore, if Korea, currently recognized as a developing country, is given the obligation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, competing countries such as China and other developing countries will be given an advantage.

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze the characteristics of network construction by Norwegian Air and AirAsia X, which are recognized as leading airlines in the long-haul LCC market. Based on this analysis, this study intends to provide implications for networking strategies for Korean LCCs that seek to enter the long-haul market when the aviation market stabilizes again upon the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology - To conduct the network analysis on long-haul low-cost airlines, the Official Airline Guide (OAG) Schedule Analyzer was used to extract long-haul data of Norwegian Air and AirAsia X. To analyze the trend of the long-haul route network, we obtained the data from 3 separate years between 2011 and 2019. The network was analyzed using UCINET 6.0 in order to examine the network structure of long-haul low-cost airlines and the growth trend of each stage. Findings - Analyzing the network of long-haul routes by visualizing the network structure of low-cost carriers showed the following results. In its early years, Norwegian Air's long-haul route network, centering on regional airports in Spain and Sweden, connected European regions, the Middle East, and Africa. As time passed, however, the network expanded and became steadily strong as the airline connected airports in other European countries to North America and Asia. In addition, in 2011, AirAsia X showed links to parts of Europe, such as London and Paris, the Middle East and India, and Australia and Northeast Asia, centering on the Kuala Lumpur Airport. Although the routes in Europe were suspended, the network continued to expand while concentrating on routes of less than approximately 7,000 km. It was found that instead of giving up on ultra-long-haul routes such as Europe, the network was further expanded in Northeast Asia, such as the routes in Korea and Japan centering on China. Originality/value - Until the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Norwegian Air actively expanded long-haul routes, resulting in the number of long-haul routes quintupling since 2011. The unfortunate circumstance, wherein the world aviation market was rendered stagnant due to the outbreak of COVID-19, hit Norwegian Air harder than any other low-cost carriers. However, in the case of AirAsia X, it was found that it did not suffer as much damage as Norwegian Air because it initially withdrew from unprofitable routes over 7,000 km and grew by gradually increasing profitable destinations over shorter distances. When the COVID-19 pandemic ends and the aviation market stabilizes, low-cost carriers around the world, including Korea, that enter the long-haul route market will need to employ strategies to analyze the marketability of potential routes and to launch the routes that yield the highest profits without being bound by distance. For stable growth, it is necessary to take a conservative stance; first, by reviewing the business feasibility of the operating a small number of highly profitable routes, and second, by gradually expanding these routes.

  • Based on the life of the furniture is to reflect a region and the important basis of ideological and cultural characteristics of The Times culture form the traditional concept of directly determine the style and features of furniture. Due to the geographical location, China and the Korean peninsula have a long history of cultural exchanges. Through long-term exchanges, Chinese traditional culture has penetrated into the daily life of the ancestors of the Korean peninsula in various ways. As one of the traditional Chinese cultures, Taoism began to spread in The Three Kingdoms period on the Korean peninsula. With the integration and development of Taoism on the Korean peninsula, Taoism culture with unique characteristics of the peninsula was formed and became part of the traditional ideological and cultural life of the ancestors on the peninsula. In the historical development of furniture on the Korean peninsula, Taoist theories such as yin-yang theory and five-element theory and geomantic geography theory have exerted an important influence on the use, shape, material and pattern of traditional furniture on the Korean peninsula. The late period of the joseon dynasty was the heyday of the handicraft industry on the Korean peninsula. During this period, the categories of furniture increased, and a large number of furniture with distinctive Taoist characteristics, beautiful shape, excellent design and different uses appeared. Through the study on the modeling, materials, patterns, seals and designs of furniture in the late period of joseon dynasty, this study confirms that Taoist thoughts are one of the main factors affecting the development of Korean traditional furniture forms and patterns. Using patterns of various natural objects or plants and animals for furniture design, it is to pray for family members to avoid disasters and disasters. Thus it can be seen that praying for blessings from heaven is the main Taoist thought.

  • Objective: Effects of inulin supplementation in diet of Haidong chicks under hypoxic conditions on production performance, intestinal morphologic change, microflora contents and the incidence of ascites were studied. Methods: Commercial male chicks (360) were randomly divided into 6 groups and were fed diets supplemented with 0, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1, 0.125, and 0.15 g/kg of inulin, respectively. Results: The body weight gain and feed intake were improved in chicks fed the diets supplemented with 0.1 and 0.125 g/kg of inulin, from d 1 to d 42 (p<0.05); moreover, blood parameters were positively affected when inulin was included in the diets and the thickness of the intestinal wall and muscle tissue in duodenum, jejunum, and ileum tended to increase (p<0.05), and the villi height and crypt depth in duodenum, jejunum, and ileum (p<0.05). Regarding the number of goblet cells in duodenum, jejunum and ileum tended to increase when chicks were fed the diets supplemented with 0.075, 0.1, 0.125, and 0.15 g/kg (p<0.05) of inulin. When chicks were fed diets supplemented with 0.75 or 0.1 g/kg of inulin, a significant reduction of Escherichia coli counts in the cecum was observed; for a contrary, a significant increment of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus was observed in cecum and ileum. Finally, supplementing the feed with inulin determined an overall reduction of ascites incidences in comparison to the control group. Conclusion: Thus, the results observed in the present study clearly suggest that the diet supplementation with a quantity of inulin ranging between 0.1 and 0.125 g/kg, can improve growth performances, intestinal morphology, internal microbial balance and ascites incidence, in broiler chicks raised at high altitude area. Even though these findings may be of interest for the poultry industry, they may particularly be relevant in those areas characterized by high altitude such as Northwest China regions.

  • The National League for Democracy (NLD) has restored a civilian government since the military had taken political power in 1962 as a result of general elections on 7, November 2015. But Daw Aung San Suu Kyi could not take part in the presidential election due to some restraints in constitution, so new government created the state counsellor position and the ministry of sate counsellor's office against military's resistance. It never publicized whether the military has to back to barracks including abolish of military's occupying the parliament seats. The ruling party is still taking laissez-faire to the military's political and economic role. The National level Ceasefire Agreement called the 21st Panglong conference launched in the end of August for a week, but stakeholders only insisted their demands. Rohingya issue is not involved in the 21st Panglong conference which aims to achieve national unity. The U.S. fully lifted a comprehensive sanction toward Myanmar since 1993, Japan promised huge grant assistance succeeding the former quasi civilian government. China strived to restore alienated relations of two countries. Although Korea kept Official Development Assistance, the summit which was planed two times in 2016 did not hold. The civilian government announced twelve points of developmental agenda in July 2016, instead of destroying the national development policy of the Thein Sein government. This agenda only showed the direction of policy not road map which was the same trend of the former government. The main direction of economic development stressed agriculture but manufacture like light industry was ignored.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the editions of 'Jeokcheonsu', the best Myoungri Classic in name and reality, that was featuring dozens of annotations and interpretations from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, and modern times. The original author of 'Jeokcheonsu' was Gyeongdo of the Song Dynasty, firstly annotated by Yugi of the late Yuan Dynasty to Early Ming Dynasty, and Im Cheolcho of the Qing Dynasty annotated again. However, several observations in the original text suggest that the author's period of writing is postulated since the middle of the Ming Dynasty, and if the book is not likely to belong to the Song Dynasty, the author is also unlikely to be Gyeongdo of the Song Dynasty. Besides, if you look at the statements of Jin Soam and Jeong Jiwoon, who published the early editions of 'Jeokcheonsu', there are many negative opinions about the usual author recognition. In this study, we conducted a comparative analysis of the four existing editions of 'Jeokcheonsu', 'Jeokcheonsu-Jibyo' edited and published by Jin Soam, 'Myeongri Suji Jeokcheonsu' revised by Jeong Jiwoon, 'Jeokcheonsu-Cheonmi' annotated by Im Cheolcho, and 'Jeokcheonsu-Jingui' edited and published by Seo Rako. It is hoped that this study will help us understand 'Jeokcheonsu' more deeply and help us with related research, such as comparative studies of annotations in the future.

  • The blood clam, Tegillarca granosa, is economically important in marine bivalve and is used in fisheries industry among western Pacific Ocean Coasts especially in Korea, China, and Japan. The number of chromosomes in the blood clam is known as 2n=38, but the genome size and genetic information of the genome are not still clear. In order to predict the genomic size of the T. granosa, the in-silico analysis analysed the genomic size using short DNA sequence information obtained using the NGS Illumina HiSeq platform. As a result, the genomic size of T. granosa was estimated to be 770.61 Mb. Subsequently, a draft genome assembly was performed through the MaSuRCA assembler, and a simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis was done by using the QDD pipeline. 43,944 SSRs were detected from the genome of T. granosa and 69.51% di-nucleotide, 16.68% trinucleotide, 12.96% tetra-nucleotide, 0.82% penta-nucleotide, and 0.03% hexa-nucleotide were consisted. 100 primer sets that could be used for genetic diversity studies were selected. In the future, this study will help identify the genetic diversity of T. granosa and population genetic studies, and further identify the classification of origin between homogenous groups.

  • Background: Coinfection with avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) and reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV) is common in chickens, and the molecular mechanism of the synergistic pathogenic effects of the coinfection is not clear. Exosomes have been identified as new players in the pathogenesis of retroviruses. The different functions of exosomes depend on their cargo components. Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the function of co-regulation differentially expressed proteins in exosomes on coinfection of ALV-J and REV. Methods: Here, viral replication in CEF cells infected with ALV-J, REV or both was detected by immunofluorescence microscopy. Then, we analyzed the exosomes isolated from supernatants of chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF) cells single infected and coinfected with ALV-J and REV by mass spectrometry. KEGG pathway enrichment analyzed the co-regulation differentially expressed proteins in exosomes. Next, we silenced and overexpressed tripartite motif containing 62 (TRIM62) to evaluate the effects of TRIM62 on viral replication and the expression levels of NCK-association proteins 1 (NCKAP1) and actin-related 2/3 complex subunit 5 (ARPC5) determined by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Results: The results showed that coinfection of ALV-J and REV promoted the replication of each other. Thirty proteins, including TRIM62, NCK-association proteins 1 (NCKAP1, also known as Nap125), and Arp2/3-5, ARPC5, were identified. NCKAP1 and ARPC5 were involved in the actin cytoskeleton pathway. TRIM62 negatively regulated viral replication and that the inhibition of REV was more significant than that on ALV-J in CEF cells coinfected with TRIM62. In addition, TRIM62 decreased the expression of NCKAP1 and increased the expression of ARPC5 in coinfected CEF cells. Conclusions: Collectively, our results indicated that coinfection with ALV-J and REV competitively promoted each other's replication, the actin cytoskeleton played an important role in the coinfection mechanism, and TRIM62 regulated the actin cytoskeleton.
