중국산 밤나방과(나비목) 3 미기록 종과 동북지역 1 미기록 종에 관한 보고 (Three Species of the Noctuid Moths New to China, and a Newly Recorded Species from Northeast China (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae))

  • 본 연구를 통해 밤나방과의 Anorthoa angustipennis (Matsumura), Harutaeographa stenoptera (Staudinger), Cerastis pallescens (Butler) 등 3종은 중국에서 처음으로 보고되며 Nikara castanea (Moore)는 처음으로 중국 동북지역에서 보고된다 새로이 보고되는 중국 미기록 3종과 동북지역 미기록 1종 성충을 대상으로 외부형태적 특징과 암수생식기 또는 분포를 간략한 기술과 함께 도해하였다.

  • 명나방과의 2종, Hypsopygia iwamotoi Kirpichnikova & Yamanaka, 1995와 Synaphe amuralis (Hampson, 1900)이 중국에서는 처음으로 보고된다. 본 연구에서는 이들 2종에 대하여 재기재하고 성충 및 생식기의 도해도를 제시하였다.

Study on Aboveground Biomass of Pinus sylvesris var. mongolica Plantation Forest in Northeast China Based on Prediction Equations

  • A total of 45 Pinus sylvestnis var. mongolica trees from 9 plots in northeast China were destructively sampled to develop aboveground prediction equations for inventory application. Sampling plots covered a range of stand ages (12-47-years-old) and densities (450-3,840/ha). The distribution of aboveground biomass of whole-trees and tree component (stems, branches and leaves) of individual trees were studied and 4 equations were developed as functions of diameter at breast height (DBH), total height (HT). All the equations have good estimation effect with high prediction precision over 90%. Forest biomass was estimated based on the individual biomass prediction equations. It was found forest biomass of all organs increased with the increasing of stand age and density. And the period of 45-50 years was the suitable harvest time for Pinus sylvesris plantation.

  • Mycena subpiligera, a new taxon in sect. Fragilipedes that can strongly enhance the germination efficiency of Gastrodia elata seeds, was discovered in subtropical areas of China. As revealed by a morphological comparison with related Mycena species as well as maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian phylogenetic analyses based on sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and the large subunit (LSU) regions of nuclear ribosomal RNA, the new taxon can be distinguished from phenotypically similar and phylogenetically related species. Optimal cultural conditions for M. subpiligera basidiomata are reported, and the germination rate of the new species is compared with that of M. citrinomarginata.

  • 중국 동북지역의 밤나방과 Perigrapha 속에 대한 분류학적 연구를 통해 총4종이 조사되었다. 이 중 Perigrapha extincta Kononenko, 1989는 중국에서 처음 보고되는 종이다. 미기록종에 대한 성충, 수컷생식기의 도해를 포함해서 검색표, 재기재, 및 분포 등을 포함해서 간단하게 정리하였다.

  • A new whitefly species, Pealius yunnanensissp. nov., collected from Mengzi, Caoba village (Yunnan, China) on Ficus microcarpa Linn. f. (Urticales: Moraceae), is described with morphology, line illustrations, photographs and scanning electron microscope images. In addition, a checklist of Chinese species of Pealius is provided and all Pealius species recorded from Ficus around the world are listed. Specimens have been deposited in the Insect Collection of Zhejiang Agriculture & Forestry University (ZAFU), Lin'an, China.

Carbon Storage of Exotic Slash Pine Plantations in Subtropical China

  • Exotic conifer trees have been extensively planted in southern China because of their high apparent growth and yield. These fast-growing plantations are expected to persist as a considerable potential for temporary and long-term carbon sink to offset greenhouse gas emissions. However, information on the carbon storage across different age ranges in exotic pine plantations is often lacking. We first estimated the ecosystem carbon storage across different age ranges of exotic pine plantations in China by quantifying above- and below-ground ecosystem carbon pools. The carbon storage of each tree component of exotic pine (Pinus elliottii) increased significantly with increasing age in Duchang and Yiyang areas. The stem carbon storage except <10 years in Ji'an areas was the largest component among all other components, which accounts for about 50% of the total carbon storage followed by roots (~28%), branches (~18%), and foliage (~9%). The mean total tree carbon storage of slash pine plantations for <10, 10-20 and 20-30 years across three study areas was 3.69, 13.91 and $20.57Mg\;ha^{-1}$, respectively. The carbon stocks in understory and forest floor were age-independent. Total tree and soil were two dominant carbon pools in slash pine plantations at all age sequences. The carbon contribution of aboveground ecosystem increased with increasing age, while that of belowground ecosystem declined. The mean total ecosystem carbon storage of slash pine plantations for <10, 10-20 and 20-30 years across China was 30.26, 98.66 and $98.89Mg\;ha^{-1}$, respectively. Although subtropical climate in China was suitable for slash pine growth, the mean total carbon stocks in slash pine plantations at all age sequences from China were lower than that values reported in American slash pine plantations.
