  • The author has evaluated the panoramic image of the maxillary sinus according to the skull position. The lead foils were attached to the five walls of the maxillary sinus and the inferior turbinate individually. The skull was located in three positions; standard position, 20㎜ forward position and chin-down position. The obtained results were as follows: 1. In standard position, the medial wall was superimposed upon most of the panoramic antral image. The anterior wall and the posterolateral wall were superimposed upon the medial half and the lateral third respectively. 2. In forward position, the width of the panoramic antral image was diminished generally. The anterior wall was superimposed upon most of the panoramic antral image and the posterolateral wall appeared narrowly at the most lateral portion of the panoramic antral image. 3. In chin-down position, there was no significant difference in comparison to the standard position. 4. Inferior turbinate was not superimposed upon the panoramic antral image.

  • In 2008, Chin et al. proposed an efficient and provable secure identity-based identification scheme in the standard model. However, we discovered a subtle flaw in the security proof which renders the proof of security useless. While no weakness has been found in the scheme itself, a scheme that is desired would be one with an accompanying proof of security. In this paper, we provide a fix to the scheme to overcome the problem without affecting the efficiency as well as a new proof of security. In particular, we show that only one extra pre-computable pairing operation should be added into the commitment phase of the identification protocol to fix the proof of security under the same hard problems.

  • Lee, Yung Nok and Chin, Pyung (Dept. of Biology, Korea University, Seoul, Korea) : Action of ascorbic acid indoleacetic acid on the oxidation of succinate and coupled phosphorylation in Chlorella mitochondria. Kor. Jour. Microbiol., Vol.2, No.1, p12-16 (1964) Mitochondria were isolated from Chlorella ellipsoidea and the action of ascorbic acid and indoleacetic acid on the succinate oxidation and coupled phosphorylation in mitochondria suspension were examined. Oxidation of succinate used as substrate, and phosphorylation coupled to oxidation were strikingly enhanced by the addition of ascorbic acid, while in case of indoleacetic acid it were a little. In a view of phosphorylative efficiency, P/O ratio resulting from the addition of ascorbic acid was decreased and it may be considered as the result of a partial oxidation of ascorbate in mitochondria.

  • Photonic crystal is a dielectric materials or a set of different dielectric materials with periodic structure of refractive index. Line defect obtained by leaving out a row of rod along the $\Gamma$-X direction. We showed the change of group velocity in waveguide mode and found a small group velocity. Characteristic of the small group velocity described by electric field distribution. As the phase variation, small group velocity confirmed from positive to negative.
