호텔로비의 이용실태에 관한 조사연구-제주지역 관광호텔을 중심으로 (A Study on Using Realities for Hotel Lobby -Focused on Resort Hotel in Cheju)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilization of the interior environment in hotel lobby and to grasp the requests of visitors. The significance of the study is to illustrate the present characters of hotel lobby and to offer the basic data for future hotel projects. The materials for this study has been collected through questionnaires garnered from six deluxe hotels in Cheju, and statistically analyzed by the semantic differential scale of L. E. Osgood. The conclusion of this study as follows . 1) Hotel lobby is used as waiting space for a short time and frequent use is four times a day. The lobby is used by the quest for meeting , waiting as a resting place while it serves as the visitor's meeting and resting place. 2) The user prefers the lobby's open space. It is desirable for the area of activity of a quests and visitors to have separate entrances. The space composition of the lobby is centrally located between the room and subsidiary equipment. The hotel lobby has needed of a method which promotes lobby image through a magnificent view of the outside.

Reduction of Location Update Cost Using Hierarchical Architecture in PCS Networks

  • Location management schemes dealing with location information of moving terminals play an important role in the personal communications systems (PCS). Since the location management involves heavy signaling traffics to update the location information, reducing the location update cost becomes a critical research issue. This paper proposes a location management scheme which reduces the location update cost by employing the hierarchical structure in PCS environment. The paper also develops analytical models to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. The results obtained from the performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional schemes in terms of the location update rates. Also, the difference in the performance becomes larger as the size of the location area (LA) becomes smaller and as the residual time of the mobile user becomes smaller.

개에서 Ascorbic Acid가 피부 결손창 치유에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Ascorbic Acid on Full-thickness Skin Wound Healing in Dogs)

  • This study was designed to assess the healing effects of ascorbic acid on full-thickness skin wound in dogs. Four $2.5\pm2.5cm$ full-thickness skin wounds were created bilaterally on the dorsolateral aspect in each of 5 dogs. The ten wounds were treated with ascorbic acid solution in the experimental group, and the ten wounds were treated with $0.9\%$ saline in the control group. The wound healing area was measured every other day for 3 weeks after the wounding. Statistical analysis was conducted with the paired t-test. On the $1^{st},\;3^{rd},\;5^{th},\; 7^{th},\;9^{th},\;11^{th},\;13^{th},\;15^{th},\;17^{th},\;19^{th},\;21^{st}days$, the wound healing rates were $12.6\pm9.6\%,\;9.5\pm9.8\%,\;18.9\pm9.0\%,\;39.2\pm5.4\%,\;62.2\pm4.6\%,\;86.9\pm1.9\%,\;92.9\pm1.8\%,\;96.6\pm1.6\%,\;99.1\pm0.5\%,\;99.8\pm0.2\%,\;99.9\pm0.1\%$ in the experimental group, and $9.1\pm6.0\%,\;9.2\pm6.0\%,\;12.2\pm5.0\%,\;41.3 \pm6.3\%,\;54.2\pm9.2\%,\;81.0\pm2.6\%,\;85.7\pm2.8\%,\;92.3\pm1.5\%,\;96.1\pm0.7\%,\;98.0\pm0.8\%,\;99.5\pm0.2\%$ in the control group On the $15^{th}$ day, the wound closed above $99\%$ in 2 dogs of the experimental group. On the $17^{th}$ day, the wound closed above $99\%$ in 3 dogs of the experimental group. On the $19^{th}$ day, the wound closed above $99\%$ in 5 dogs of the experimental group, and 2 dogs of the control group. On the $21^{st}$ day, the wound closed above $99\%$ in 5 dogs of the experimental group, and 4 dogs of the control group. The wound healing rate of the experimental group was $2\~4$ days faster than that of the control group. The tensile strength was $4,169\pm1,107g/cm^2$ in the experimental group, and $2,438\pm637g/cm^2$ in the countrol group on the$21^{st}$ day after wounding. Tensile strength was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p<0.05). The histopathological findings of the experimental group were similar to those of the control group on the $1^{st},\;3^{rd}\;and\;5^{th}$days. Inflammation and revascularization of the experimental group were similar to those of the control group on the $9^{th},\;13^{th}\;and\;21^{st}$days. The formation of collagen and reepithelialization were more developed the experimental group than in the control group on the $9^{th},\;13^{th}\;and\;21^{st}$days. Significantly higher wound healing rate, tensile strength and better histopathological findings were observed in the experimental group than in the control group. These results suggest that the topical application of ascorbic acid on full-thickness skin wounds can promote wound healing process.

제주 차귀도 연안해역 미생물 분포 및 이화학적 특성 (Distribution of Microorganisms and Physico-Chemical Characteristics in the Chagwi-Do Coastal Waters, Jeju Island)

  • To investigate the variations of physico-chemical factors and microbial population, in ten stations at water region of coastal area of Chagwi-Do, Nutritive salts, water temperature, transparency, suspended solid, salinity, COD, DO, pH, heterotrophic bacteria, coliform group and Vibrio spp. were analysed three times in September, November in 2004 and February in 2005. Heterotrophic bacteria in surface water was $3.5X10^1{\sim}1.16X10^3cfu/ml,\;1.0X10^2{\sim}5.2X10^1cfu/ml\;2.0X10^1{\sim}7.6X10^1cfu/ml$ and bottom water counted $7.0X10^2{\sim}1.0X10^3cfu/ml,\;1.4X10^1{\sim}2.5X10^2cfu/ml\;2.0X10^2{\sim}4.2X10^1cfu/ml$ in September, November in 2004 and February in 2005, respectively. The cell number of total coliform bacteria in the surface water amounted to $0{\sim}4.3X10^2cfu/ml,\;0{\sim}6.0X10^1cfu/ml,\;0{\sim}1.0X10^1cfu/ml$ and bottom water amounted $0{\sim}2.2X10^2cfu/ml,\;0{\sim}5.4X0^2cfu/ml,\;0{\sim}2.0X10^1cfu/ml$ in September, November in 2004 and February in 2005, respectively. As for Vibrio spp., the cell number in the surface water was $1.0X10^1{\sim}2.5X10^2cfu/ml,\;1.0X10^1{\sim}2.0X10^1cfu/ml,\;0cfu/ml$ and bottom water counted $1.0X10^1{\sim}5.2X10^2cfu/ml,\;0cfu/ml,\;2.0X10^1cfu/ml$ in September, November in 2004 and February in 2005, respectively.

최근 국내 사상충증의 역학적 상황에 관한 조사 (Studies on the Current Epidemiological Situation of Brugian Filariasis in Endemic Areas of Korea)

  • 근래에 전남 신안군 대흑산도 및 소흑산도와 제주도에서 보고된 주민의 microfilaria(mf) 양성률은 각각 평균 11.5%, 11.l%, 0.5%였다. 저자 등은 흑산도와 본토와의 중계항인 전남 신안면 도초면(도)에서 1987년 7월 주민들의 microfilaria 양성률을 조사하였다. 이 섬의 해숭암당에서 Aedes togoi가 채집되었다. Mf 조사 방법은 Ae. togoi 서식처에 가까운 4 개 부락(화도, 지남, 지북, 지동)의 주민 195명(남 102, 여 93)을 21:00∼01:00시 사이에 호별 방문하여 채혈하고 후속도말(20mm3)한 후 Giemsa 염색하고 검경하였다. 검사 결과 전 표본이 음성이었으며 이 지역에서 사상충증의 분석는 흑산도에만 한국되어 있을 것으로 추측되었다. 저자 등은 또한 1988년 5월 과거 사상충증의 유행도가 높았던 제주도 남제주군 남원면 태흥리, 서귀포시 하예(예)동, 북제주군 애월읍 구엄리 및 신엄리의 4개 부락에서 주민 357명 (남 167, 여 190)에 대하여 상기 도초도에서와 동일한 방법으로 microfilaria를 조사하였던 바 단 1건의 mf 양성자(52재, 남)가 태흥리에서 발견되었고(1/180 또는 0.6%), mf 밀도는 l1/20 mm3이었다. 상기와 같이 제주도에서 사상충증의 소멸이 관련된 제 인자를 구명코자 1988년 9월 태흥리에서 미충학적 조사와 주민의 생활양태의 일단을 관찰한 결과는 아래와 같다. Ae. togoi의 서식처는 여전히 많아 Ae. togoi 개체군의 절대밀도에는 변동이 없는 것으로 사료되나 주간 가옥 내 휴식 모기 밀도(평균 매 가옥당 0.4)와 인/모기 접촉도(man-mosquito contact)는 부락주거 지역의 확대, 인구의 증가, 생활수준의 향상등에 의해 감소되었음이 나타났다(indoor human biting catches-0.2/man/hour, outdoor-0/man/hour) (상대적 밀도의 감소를 의미). 총 20가구의 표본 조사에서 19가구는 모기향, 에어로졸 사용과 함께 모기장(전가족 보호 가능한 수)을 사용하고 있었으며 이와 같은 양호한 개인 방어(personal protection) 는 옥내 흡혈성(endophagy)을 가진 Ae. togoi의 매개 능률을 결정적으로 저지하는 결과를 가져왔다고 생각된다.

대흑산도와 홍도의 거미상 (The Spider Fauna of Is. Dae Heucksan-do and Is. Hong-do, Korea)

  • Is. Dae Heucksan-do and Is. Heucksan-do and Is. Hong-do are located in the southwestern, apart 110km from Mockpo city, Korea., and the spider fauna of this area has never been explored. The author collected the spiders from these Islands in August 1974. Findings were; 1) 83 species of spiders belonging to 17 families, including 5 undetermined species. 2) Leptoneta sp., Carrhotus sp. (A), Marpissa sp. and Synagelides sp. are reserved for future study. 3) The materials were not sufficient for general discussion and conclusions of the spider fauna of these Islands. However, results can be summarized as follows: 7 northern species $8.9\%$ 9 southern species $11.5\%$, 4 cosmopolitan $5.1\%$ 4) The common species of mainland China were 41 $51.9\%$. 5) As the result of this survey, the spider fauna of this area is similar to that of the Is. Cheju-do and Is. Tsushima, in the south eastern area, and have much more common to China than any another area in Korea.

온주 밀감의 껍질로부터 정유의 분리 및 분석 (Analysis of Essential Oils from the Peel of Mandarine (Citrus unshiu Marc. Var. Okitsu))

  • 제주도산 흥진조생 온주 밀감의 껍질 중에 함유된 정유의 분리 수율 및 성분을 조사하였다. 증류법, 저온압착법 그리고 용매추출법으로 온주 밀감의 껍질로 부터 정유를 분리하여, 각 방법에 따른 수율을 조사 비교한 결과, 증류법을 이용했을 때에 1.14%(w/w)로 가장 높았으며, 정유의 비중은 $0.8409{\sim}0.8530$이었다. 정유 중에서 검출된 성분 수는 $51{\sim}107$개, 그리고 주요 성분인 d-limonene 함량은 $47.6{\sim}68.6%$ (relative peak area, RPA)로 분리 방법에 따라 다소 차이가 있었다. 감귤의 성숙단계별로 시료를 채취하며 분석한 결과, 완숙기에 이르렀을 때 과피의 두께는 2mm 내외, 과피율을 약 17%(w/w)에 상당하였다. 정유의 수율은 감귤이 완숙되기 직전인 9월에 최대치를 나타내었고, 그 이후 약간 감소하는 경향을 보였으나. 습윤 과피중량 기준으로 1%(w/w) 이상의 수준을 유지하였다. 이는 정유 함유량이 완숙되기 직전에 가장 많으며, 껍질중에는 적어도 1%(w/w) 이상의 정유가 함유되어 있음을 나타낸다. 정유의 주요 구성분인 d-limonene 함량은 과실이 성숙함에 따라 점차 증가하여 최고68.69%(RPA)에 도달하였다. 그이외에 ${\gamma}-terpinene,\;{\beta}-elemene$, farnesene, hexadecanoic acid, ${\alpha}-pinene,\/{\beta}-myrcene$ 그리고 linalool이 각각 7.75, 2.96, 2.29, 1.76, 1.63, 1.56, 1.46%(RPA)씩 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

제주지역의 국가 기준점 정확도 분석 (Analysis of National Control Points in Jeju Area)

  • 인공위성기술의 비약적인 발전은 각종 공간정보의 취득과 이를 응용하는 다양한분야에 광범위하게 이용되고 있다. 특히 GPS를 이용한 위치결정은 국가 기준계가 세계좌표계로 전환되는 시점을 맞이하여 더욱 활성화 될 전망이다. 현재 국토지리 정보원에서 발급하는 삼각점에 대한 성과는 신성과와 구성과로 구분하고 있고 2007년부터는 전면 세계좌표계로 전환할 예정에 있다. 현재 제주지역의 삼각점은 최초, 복구 또는 재설한 삼각점 성과 차이로 인해 측량자 들이 그 성과를 이용함에 있어 많은 혼란을 초래하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 제주지역의 현행삼각점간 부합관계를 점검하기 위해 1, 2등 삼각점을 기준으로 최초 측량 당시의 측지망을 재 구성하여 GPS 관측을 수행하였다. 관측 후 성과분석을 통해 삼각점간 부합되는 안정점을 추출하고 제주지역에 적합한 측지기준망을 구축하고 그 활용방안을 제시하였다. .

고전압 전기장을 이용한 하수처리장 방류수 중의 대장균군 소독에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Disinfection of Coliform Group in the Effluent of Sewage Plant by High Voltage Electric Field Treatment)

  • Using high voltage electric fields induced by high voltage AC (10-12 kV/cm, 20 kHz) and pulsed (20-30 kV/cm, 40 Hz) electric field generator as a semipermanent and environment-friendly disinfecting apparatus, the disinfection effect of coliform group in the effluent of sewage plant was investigated. The effects of electric field strength, treatment time, discharge area of a discharge tube, water quality factors (electric conductivity, pH and SS) on its death rate were examined. The death rate of coliform group was increased with increasing electric field strength and treatment time. For AC and pulsed electric field generator, the critical electric field strength was 6 kV/cm and 2 kV/cm, respectively, and the critical treatment time was 5 min and 2 min, respectively, regardless of electric field strength. Comparing the death rate of coliform group by AC and pulsed electric fields used in this study, its death rate was higher for the latter than the former, but did not increase linearly with increasing electric field strength. The results obtained for the effects of discharge area, electric conductivity, pH and SS on the death rate of coliform group using AC electric field (12 kV/cm, 20 kHz) were as follows: its death rate showed the trend to increase linearly with increasing discharge area; for the effect of electric conductivity, its death rate was increased with increasing electric conductivity, regardless of ionic species, increased with increasing cationic valency, but was similar between the same cationic valency; the pH $5{\sim}9$ used in this study did not affect its death rate; its death rate was decreased with increasing SS concentration.

Preliminary Estimation of Particle Dry Deposition Fluxes along Coastal Area of Jeju Island

  • This work employs two models to quantify the size-segregated dry deposition fluxes of particle-bound N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ , N $H_4$$^{+}$, and S $O_4$$^{2-}$ along the coastal area of Jeju Island based on the chemical composition data of aerosol collected during the springtime of 1995. The two approaches produced fairly comparable results, despite the feature differences between the two models. The modelling results obtained indicated that the mean dry deposition velocity was around 0.4 cm $s^{-1}$ for N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ , 0.2 cm $s^{-1}$ for N $H_4$$^{+}$, and 0.3 cm $s^{-1}$ for S $O_4$$^{2-}$, and the dry deposition flux varied between 371~1368 $\mu\textrm{g}$ $m^{-2}$ da $y^{-1}$ for nitrate, 28~625 $\mu\textrm{g}$ $m^{-2}$ da $y^{-1}$ for ammonium, and 957~6088 $\mu\textrm{g}$ $m^{-2}$ da $y^{-1}$ for sulfate. Although difficulties in collecting giant and/or fine particles limited the understanding of the mass size distribution of particles and thus the ability to refine estimates of the dry deposition flux for the particulate matter, both models were still able to offer sufficient realism to explain the features of the available data collected from the coastal area of Jeju Island.and.
