  • The purpose of this study was to obtain the serum lipid levels according to the lifestyles, and examine the influence of lifestyles on the serum lipid levels among adults who examined the health checkup in an university hospital. The subjects for this study were 4,112 adults who underwent medical examinations at the health center of a university hospital in Daejeon city from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013. The lifestyles and serum lipid levels of study subjects were obtained from self-recorded questionnaires and medical examination charts of the hospital. As a result, the mean values of the serum lipid levels (TC, HDL-C. LDL-C and TG) and atherogenic index (AI) of the study subjects showed a significantly difference according to the lifestyle, such as age, alcohol consumption, smoking, regular exercise, overeating and meat consumption in both sexes. The TC, HDL-C. LDL-C, TG and AI showed a positive correlation with age, AUDIT score, but the HPI score showed a negative correlation in both sexes. In the age-adjusted odds ratio, the risk ratio of an abnormality of TC, HDL-C. LDL-C, TG and AI increased significantly because there was an increase in the group of everyday overeating and meat consumption, smoking group, no exercise group, and low HPI group than their respective counterparts in both sexes. The above results suggested that the serum lipid levels of the subjects was closely related to increasing age, and lifestyles, such as alcohol consumption, smoking, regular exercise, overeating, and meat consumption.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study has attempted to evaluate and compare the image evaluation and exposure dose by respectively applying Filtered Back Projection(FBP), the existing test method, and Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction(ASIR) with different values of tube voltage during the Low Dose Computed Tomography(LDCT). Materials and Methods: With the image reconstruction method as basis, Chest Phantom was utilized with the FBP and ASIR set at 10%, 20% respectively, and the change of Tube Voltage (100kVp, 120kVp). For image evaluation, Back ground noise, Signal to Noise ratio(SNR) and Contrast to Noise ratio(CNR) were measured, and, for dose evaluation, CTDIvol and DLP were measured respectively. The statistical analysis was tested with SPSS(ver. 22.0), followed by ANOVA Test conducted after normality test and homogeneity test. (p<0.05). Results: In terms of image evaluation, there was no outstanding difference in Ascending Aorta(AA) SNR and Infraspinatus Muscle(IM) SNR with the different values of ASIR application(p<0.05), but a significant difference with the different amount of tube voltage(p>0.05). Also, there wasn't noticeable change in CNR with ASIR and different amount of Tube Voltage (p<0.05). However, in terms of dose evaluation, CTDIvol and DLP showed contrasting results(p<0.05). In terms of CTDIvol, the measured values with the same tube voltage of 120kVp were 2.6mGy with No-ASIR and 2.17mGy with 20%-ASIR respectively, decreased by 0.43mGy, and the values with 100kVp were 1.61mGy with No-ASIR and 1.34mGy with 20%-ASIR, decreased by 0.27mGy. In terms of DLP, the measured values with 120kVp were $103.21mGy{\cdot}cm$ with No-ASIR and $85.94mGy{\cdot}cm$ with 20%-ASIR, decreased by $17.27mGy{\cdot}cm$(about 16.7%), and the values with 100kVp were $63.84mGy{\cdot}cm$ with No-ASIR and $53.25mGy{\cdot}cm$ with 20%-ASIR, a decrease by $10.62mGy{\cdot}cm$(about 16.7%). Conclusion: At lower tube voltage, the rate of dose significantly decreased, but the negative effects on image evaluation was shown due to the increase of noise. For the future, through the result of the experiment, it is considered that the method above would be recommended for follow-up patients or those who get health checkup as long as there is no interference on the process of diagnosis due to the characteristics of Low Dose examination.

  • 1. Objectives This study was to designed investigate the relationship between hypertension and its risk factors and the prevalence of hypertension according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods Five hundred and twenty six people were subjects out of 666 people, over 40 years old, who participated in the community-based cohort in Wonju, South Korea from July 2nd to August 30th in 2006. Hypertensive group was 263 peoples and normal group was 263 people, selected randomly among non hypertensive people who had same age and sex with hypertensive groups. Sasang Constitutional Diagnosis was carried out using PSSC(Phonetic System of Sasang Constitution), face and tongue photos and a checkup list. Risk factors from blood samples, physical measurements and social indices were analyzed using SPSS. 3. Results The prevalence of hypertension in Taeeumin was 63.1%(N=166), that of Soeumin was 22.4%(N=59) and that of Soyangin was 14.4%(N= 38). Considering risk factors of hypertension, there weren't any differences between two groups in social support indices and Framingham type A score. But scores of Soeumin's and Soyangin's were significantly high compared with that of Taeeumin in female normal group. There were significantly high results in Adiponectin of Soeumin's and HDL-cholesterol of female Soyangin's and HOMA-IR of Taeeumin's than any other groups. Crude OR of Taeeumin was 2.18 as compared with that of Soeumin in terms of risk of hypertension, and OR of Taeeumin was 2.02 as compared with that of Soeumin after drinking, smoking, total cholesterol, fasting blood sugar and HOMA-IR were adjusted. But after BMI was adjusted there wasn't a significance between Soeumin and Taeeumin and the OR of more than 25 was 2.42 as compared with that of less than 23 in BMI. 4. Conclusions Sasang Constitution is thought to be the reasonable variable to control hypertension in terms of prevention, treatment and regimen. And constitution is needed as a good variable to make a cohort study concerning chronic diseases, especially hypertension.

  • Since case-based reasoning(CBR) has many advantages, it has been used for supporting decision making in various areas including medical checkup, production planning, customer classification, and so on. However, there are several factors to be set by heuristics when designing effective CBR systems. Among these factors, this study addresses the issue of selecting appropriate neighbors in case retrieval step. As the criterion for selecting appropriate neighbors, conventional studies have used the preset number of neighbors to combine(i.e. k of k-nearest neighbor), or the relative portion of the maximum similarity. However, this study proposes to use the absolute similarity threshold varying from 0 to 1, as the criterion for selecting appropriate neighbors to combine. In this case, too small similarity threshold value may make the model rarely produce the solution. To avoid this, we propose to adopt the coverage, which implies the ratio of the cases in which solutions are produced over the total number of the training cases, and to set it as the constraint when optimizing the similarity threshold. To validate the usefulness of the proposed model, we applied it to a real-world target marketing case of an online shopping mall in Korea. As a result, we found that the proposed model might significantly improve the performance of CBR.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the demographic characteristics, oral health awareness and oral health behavior of 1,356 Korean senior citizens based on the fourth raw materials of the 2008 national health and nutrition survey, and to analyze their DMFS, DMFT and FS-T indexes, which were oral health indicators. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The mean DMFS index of the Korean senior citizens was 26.62, and their average DMFT index was 6.76. Their mean FS-T index was 21.51. 2. Out of the demographic characteristics of the Korean elderly people, education made statistically significant differences to the DMFS(p<0.05) and FS-T(p<0.001) indexes, and whether they worked or not made statistically significant differences to the DMFT(p<0.01), DMFS(0.001) and FS-T(0.001) indexes. There were no significant gaps according to gender, age and presence or absence of a spouse. 3. The oral health awareness of the Korean senior citizens(subjective oral health status, whether to need a dental treatment, concern for oral health and mastication) had no statistically significant relationship to their DMFS, DMFT and FS-T indexes. 4. Among the oral health behaviors of the Korean elderly people, whether they got a dental checkup over the past year made statistically significant differences to the DMFT(p<0.01), DMFS(p<0.001) and FS-T (p<0.001) indexes, and there were statistically significant gaps in the DMFT(p<0.010, FS-T(p<0.01) and DMFS(p<0.001) indexes according to yesterday's toothbrushing frequency. The time when they went to a dentist made a significant difference to the FS-T(p<0.01) index only.

  • This convergence study analyzed the effectiveness of digital radiography system of copper(Cu) filter in the added filtration for the removal of lower energy radiation through dose and image evaluation. We were analyzed from April to June 2015 result of the examination. Cu filter was applied to each non, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 mm according to change of kV and mAs and doses were evaluated. Image quality was evaluated by PSNR, MAE, MSE, CNR, SNR and qualitative analysis was performed by seven items for resolution and contrast from chest x-ray criteria of national cancer checkup. The absorbed doses with Cu were lowered by 16-88 % than non-filter but the gaps decreased as kV increased. PSNR were over 30 dB and all significant and CNR and SNR were superior with non-filter but in the qualitative analysis, there were different statistical significant according to each item. The score of 0.1 mm filter was high at pulmonary blood vessel observation and in the 0.3 mm Cu, there were no statistical signigicant except high density and full of air portion. Cu filter can improve image quality with lower radiation dose using better radiation quality and correction power at digital radiography system.
