충전압력 및 작동주파수 특성 연구에 의한 스터링 냉동기 개발 (The effect of the charging pressure and operating frequency in the Stirling Cryocooler)

  • This paper presents manufacturing process and test results in the optimum pressure and operating frequency for the free piston free displacer(FPFD) Stirling cryocooler designed and manufactured by Korea Institute of Machinery &Materials (KIMM). FPFD Stirling cryocooler is currently under development uses opposed linear motors to drive opposed pistons . The performance of FPFD Stirling cryocooler is evaluated as a function fo charging pressure and operating frequency. In general as the operating frequency of the compressor is increaed but natural frequency of the displacer is almost constant. The prototype has achieved no load temperature of 49K and cooling capacity of 0.5W at 7.2K.

  • Miniature Joule-Thomson cryocoolers have been widely used for rapid cooling of infrared detectors, probes of cryosurgery, thermal cameras, missile homing head and guidance system, due to their special features of simple configuration, compact structure and rapid cool-down characteristics. The cool-down time, the temperature at the cold end, the running time and the gas consumption are the important indicators of the performance of the J-T cryocooler. In this study, the initial cool-down stages of the J-T cryocooler were investigated by numerical simulations. The results show the effects of the initial charging pressures of gas on the cool-down time and the temperature at the cold end and the gas consumptions.

  • A non-contact battery charger for cellular phone is designed using half-bridge series resonant converter. This converter utilizes series resonance to reduce the undesirable effect of large leakage inductance of the detachable transformer and ZVS operation can reduce switching loss and switching noise. In this paper, analysis and design procedure of half-bridge series resonant converter with detachable transformer is presented. The input voltage is 85VAC∼270VAC, and the output voltage and current is 4.1V and 800mA, respectively. Furthermore, a method of calculating the secondary current of the transformer to control the battery charging current in the constant current charging mode is proposed. The performance of the charger is verified through experiments.

  • KUH-1에 적용되는 질소충전트레일러는 항공기의 주/전륜 완충기, 테일범퍼완충기, 브레이크 축압기, 타이어 등에 질소를 충전하는 장비이다. 명칭에서 알 수 있는 것과 같이 질소충전트레일러는 질소 충전과 더불어 이동성을 가지고 있는 장비이다. 기존 미국의 Tronair사에서 독점 공급하여 국내에서는 수입에 의존하던 품목이며, 본 국산화 개발품은 도입품의 성능을 만족할 뿐만 아니라 운용 시 도입품보다 용이하도록 설계를 추진하였다. 제15-4차 민관공동투자사업으로 선정되어 개발이 진행되었으며, 민관투자기업인 한국항공우주산업과 국방기술품질원의 개발관리 지원하에 개발요구도 분석 및 시험평가가 수행되었으며, 2017년 5월 군사용 적합 판정 결과 승인을 받았다.

  • In this paper, the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method for lead battery of the solar cell generator equipment is proposed. And we propose the control circuit and design method of insulated switching mode convert type pulse charger by fly-back convert method in the lead battery. The proposed system can minimize the current consumption by digital pulse. Also the proposed system can generate the constant 10[KHz] frequency, transmit the signal with main control system in the power control system. And it supervises the state of lead battery using one chip micro processor. The proposed the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by the fly-back converter method can charge fast and stabilize lead battery with nominal value 12[V], 20[AH]. Also we propose the design procedure of the power control circuit for turn ratio of fly-back inductor and determining method of values such as the charging current, bulk current, partial current, over current value and fixed charging voltage. The experiment results for the voltage and current wave for partial, bulk, over and fixed charging period show the good charging effect and performance. And the PCB and internal coupling diagram of the switching mode conversion type pulse charger by fly-back converter method is presented.

스크린 메쉬형 가변전열 히트파이프에서 NCG양에 따른 작동특성 변화 (Influence of NCG Charging Mass on the Thermal Characteristics of Variable Conductance Heat Pipe with Screen Mesh Wick)

  • Experimental study is performed to investigate the effect of heat load and operating temperature on the thermal performance of a heat pipe with screen mesh wick. The heat pipe was designed in 200 screen meshes, 500mm length and 12.7mm O.D tube of copper, water as working fluid(4.8g) and nitrogen as non-condensible gas(NCG). The heat pipe used in this study has evaporator, condenser and adiabatic section, respectively. Experimental data of axial wall temperature distribution is presented for heat transport capacity, the temperature of cooling water of condenser, inclination angle, and operating temperature. For the results from this study, it is found that, for the same charging mass of working fluid, the initial operating temperature and the overall wall temperatures of heat pipe are higher for NCG charging mass of $5.0{\times}10^{-6}kg$ and $3.4{\times}10^{-6}kg$, than that of $1.0{\times}10^{-6}kg$.

저온 잠열 축열조내의 열유동 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on Characteristics of Heat Flow of Low Temperature Latent Thermal Storage System)

  • The study on ice thermal storage system is to improve total system performance and increase the economical efficiency in actual all-conditioning facilities. To obtain the high charging and discharging efficiencies in ice thermal storage system, the improvement of thermal stratification is essential, therefore the process flow must be piston flow in the cylindrical type. With the relation of the aspect ratio(H/D) in the storage tank, the stratification is formed better as inlet flow rate is smaller. If the inlet and the outlet port are settled at the upside and downside of the storage tank, higher storage rate could be obtainable. In case that the flow directions inside the thermal storage tank are the upward flow in charging and the downward in discharging, thermal stratification is improved because the thermocline thickness is maitained thin and the degree of stratification increases respectively. In the charging process, in case of inlet flow rate the thermal stratification has a tendency to be improved with the lower flow rate and smaller temperature gradient in case of inlet temperature, the large temperature difference between inflowing water and storage water are influenced from the thermal conduction. The effect of the reference temperature difference is seen differently in comparison with the former study for chilled and hot water. In the discharging process, the thermal stratification is improved by the effect of the thermal stratification of the charging process.

안정적 고반복을 위한 지연시간 제어회로가 적용된 커패시터 충전용 전원장치 (A Capacitor Charging Power Supply(CCPS) using Dead Time Control Circuit for Stable High Repetition)

  • Capacitor Charging Power Supply(CCPS) is one of the most important components of a pulsed power system. The CCPS is widely used in source of lasers, accelerators and plasma generators. This paper presents design of a dead time control circuit and operation characteristics for stable high repetition rate of high voltage CCPS. The CCPS consists of battery, high voltage transformer and controller with a dead time control circuit. A dead time control circuit was simulated by PSpice. The performance test of the CCPS was carried out with a 7[nF] load capacitor at output voltage of 50[kV] and a pulse repetition frequency of 100[Hz]. As a result, we can verify that charging and discharging waveform is stable at 100[Hz]. The experiment results indicate that 3[ms] dead time made it possible for stable high repetition rate of 100[Hz]. This paper paves the way for designing an advanced CCPS which is more applicable outside experiments.

LLC 공진형 컨버터 기반 리튬이온 배터리 충전기의 통합 전류-전압 보상기 설계방법 연구 (Design of an Integrated Current-Voltage Charging Compensator for the LLC Resonant Converter-Based Li-ion Battery Charger)

  • The conventional battery charger requires two separate voltage and current compensators to achieve constant current and constant-current-charging profile. This compensator configuration leads to an inevitable transient response during the mode change between the constant current and the constant voltage operation. Futhermore, a tedious and complicated design process is required to consider a widely changing battery voltage and the nonlinear electrical properties of Li-ion battery. This study proposes a single integrated voltage-current compensator of the LLC resonant converter for Li-ion battery charger applications to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks. The proposed compensator is designed to provide a smooth and reliable performance during the entire charging process while providing the reduced design efforts and seamless mode transient response. Several experimental results based on a 300 W prototype converter and its theoretical analysis are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed compensator.

  • This paper presents analytical and numerical simulation approaches on charging characteristics of no-insulation (NI) REBCO pancake coil by using the equivalent circuit model to estimate magnetic performance response in the coil. The analytical methods provide closed form or definite solution in the form of complete mathematical expressions but they are hard to solve the complex problems. Numerical methods have become popular with the development of the computing capabilities to solve the problems which are impossible or very hard to solve analytically. First of all, the equivalent circuit model are proposed to develop the simulation code for both analytical and numerical method. The charging test was performed under critical current to obtain magnetic field induced and terminal voltage through the radial as well as spiral current paths within the coil. To verify the validity of both proposed methods, the simulation results were compared and discussed with the experimental results.
