A study on the in-line type inertance tube pulse tube cryocooler for cooling Superconductor filter

  • The Experimental results of the in-line type inertance tube pulse tube cryocooler for cooling superconductor RF filter are presented in this paper. The pulse tube refrigerator, which has no moving parts at its cold section, is attractive in obtaining higher reliability, simpler construction, and lower vibration than any other small refrigerators. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of in-line type inertance tube pulse tube refrigerator (IPTR), and to get main factor to improve the performance of the in-line type IPTR. Firstly, design parameters of the in-line IPTR are discussed by ARCOPTR program, and then to find optimal conditions of in-line type IPTR, cool down characteristics according to the variations of the charging pressure, inertance tube volume, regenerator volume and pulse tube volume are measured by the experiment. The lowest temperature of the cold end was about 50 K. Cooling capacity was the highest in the charging pressure of 32 atm. and 5W at 72K. On the other hand, COP of the in-line type IPTR was the highest in the charging pressure of 21 atm. and 0.018 at 77K.

Optimized Charging in Large-Scale Deployed WSNs with Mobile Charger

  • Restricted by finite battery energy, traditional wireless sensor networks (WSNs) can only maintain for a limited period of time, resulting in serious performance bottleneck in long-term deployment of WSN. Fortunately, the advancement in the wireless energy transfer technology provides a potential to free WSNs from limited energy supply and remain perpetual operational. A mobile charger called wireless charging vehicle (WCV) is employed to periodically charge each sensor node and keep its energy level above the minimum threshold. Aiming at maximizing the ratio of the WCV's vocation time over the cycle time as well as guaranteeing the perpetual operation of networks, we propose a feasible and optimal solution to this issue within the context of a real-time large-scale deployed WSN. First, we develop two different types of charging cycles: initialization cycles and renewable cycles and give relevant algorithms to construct these two cycles for each sensor node. We then formulate the optimization problem into an optimal construction algorithm and prove its correctness through theoretical analysis. Finally, we conduct extensive simulations to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms.

  • In this study, we developed 300 W lightweight DMFC system for charging secondary battery in small unit military operation. In order to reduce the volumetric shape and weight of the system considering the environment of the individual soldier's, the arranging of system components has been optimized. A metal bipolar plates made of STS-470FC have been implemented to the DMFC stack to meet the weight demand of the system. As a result of the performance test of the stack, the target value was satisfied by outputting 561 W exceeding 24% of the stack output 450 W required to output 300 W required for the entire system. Moreover, 2,655 hours exceeding 1,000 hours also has been satisfied. To ensure good robustness of the metallic bipolar plate based DMFC stack, finite element method based simulations are conducted using a commercial ANSYS Fluent software.

배터리 기반 2단 충전 9 kJ/s 고전압 충전기 설계 (Design of 9 kJ/s High Voltage LiPo Battery based 2-stage Capacitor Charger)

  • A lithium polymer battery-based 9 kJ/s high-voltage capacitor charger, which comprises two stages, is proposed. A modified LCC resonant converter and resonant circuit are introduced at the first and second stages, respectively. In the first stage, the methods for handling low-voltage and high-current batteries are considered. Delta-wye three-phase transformers are used to generate a high output voltage through the difference between the phase and line-to-line voltages. Another method is placing the series resonant capacitor of the LCC resonant components on the transformer secondary side, which conducts considerably low current compared with the transformer primary side. On the basis of the stable operation of the first charging stage, the secondary charging stage generates final output voltage by using the resonance. This additional stage protects the rectifying diodes from the negative voltage when the output capacitor is discharged for a short time. The inductance and capacitance of the resonance components are selected by considering the resonance charging time. The design procedure for each stage with the aforementioned features is suggested, and its performance is verified by not only simulation but also experimental results.

수소 충전 시스템용 리셉터클의 내부 압력 분포와 압력 강하에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis of Pressure Distribution and Pressure Drop in Receptacle for Hydrogen Charging System)

  • This study analyzes pressure distribution and pressure drop in the receptacle used in charging system of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The objective is to minimize receptacle-induced pressure drop by redesigning internal flow channels. Through numerical simulations, three receptacle variants are compared with a baseline case. Results show reduced pressure drop in the filter section. However, the check valve section exhibits higher pressure drop, requiring further improvement. By increasing throat diameter, pressure drop is decreased by 28% between inlet and outlet of the receptacle. This study shows the relationship between dynamic pressure and pressure drop, providing a guideline for receptacle performance optimization. The redesigned receptacle offers potential for enhancing hydrogen charging efficiency.

전기 차 운행 데이터를 활용한 인공지능 기반의 배터리 분석 및 평가 방법 연구 (Research on artificial intelligence based battery analysis and evaluation methods using electric vehicle operation data)

  • 최근 탄소배출을 최소화하기 위해 전기자동차의 사용이 증가함에 따라 핵심 부품인 리튬이온 배터리의 상태 및 성능 분석의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 배터리의 상태 및 성능에 영향을 줄 수 있는 배터리의 전압, 전류 및 온도뿐만 아니라 전기 자동차의 운행 데이터 및 충전 패턴 데이터를 활용한 종합적인 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 전기적 이동 수단에서 수집되는 배터리 데이터 수집 및 데이터 전처리, 단순 배터리 데이터에 추가적인 운전자 운전 습관에 대한 데이터 수집 및 전처리, 분석된 영향인자를 기반으로 인공지능 알고리즘 세부 설계 및 수정, 해당 알고리즘을 기반으로 하는 배터리 분석 및 평가 모델 설계하였다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 전기버스를 대상으로 운행 데이터와 배터리 데이터를 수집하여 Random Forest 알고리즘 활용하여 학습시킨 후, XAI 알고리즘을 통해 배터리 상태 중요 영향인자로 배터리의 상태, 운행 및 충전 패턴 데이터 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 운행 패턴에서 급가속, 급 감속, 급정지와 충 방전 패턴에서 일 주행횟수, 일일 누적 DOD와 셀 방전에서 셀 전압 차 , 셀 최대온도, 셀 최소온도의 요소가 배터리 상태에 많은 영향을 미치는 인자로 확인되었으며, Random Forest 알고리즘 기반으로 배터리 분석 및 평가 모델을 설계하고 평가하였다.

Evaluation of Tolerance of Some Elemental Impurities on Performance of Pb-Ca-Sn Positive Pole Grids of Lead-Acid Batteries

  • The electrochemical performance of positive pole grids of lead-acid batteries made of Pb-0.08%Ca-1.1%Sn alloys without and with 0.1 wt% of each of Cu, As or Sb and with 0.1 wt% of Cu, As and Sb combined was investigated by electrochemical methods in 4.0 M $H_2SO_4$. The corrodibility of alloys under open-circuit conditions and constant current charging of the positive pole, the positive pole gassing and the self-discharge of the charged positive pole were studied. All impurities (Cu, As, Sb) were found to decrease the corrosion resistance, $R_{corr}$ after 1/2 hour corrosion, but after 24 hours an improvement in $R_{corr}$ was recorded for Sb containing alloy and the alloy with the three impurities combined. While an individual impurity was found to enhance oxygen evolution reaction, the impurities combined significantly inhibition this reaction and the related water loss problem was improved. Impedance results were found helpful in identification of the species involved in the charging/discharging and the self-discharge of the positive pole. Impurities individually or combined were found to increase the self-discharge during polarization (33-68%), where Sb containing alloy was the worst and impurities combined alloy was the least. The corrosion of the positive pole grid in the constant current charging was found to increase in the presence of impurities by 5-10%. Under open-circuit, the self-discharge of the charged positive grids was found to increase significantly (92-212%) in the presence of impurities, with Sb-containing alloy was the worst. The important result of the study is that the harmful effect of the studied impurities combined was not additive but sometimes lesser than any individual impurity.

무선 수동형 센서 망을 위한 Slotted ALOHA 기반의 기본적인 MAC 방식 (Elementary MAC Scheme Based on Slotted ALOHA for Wireless Passive Sensor Networks)

  • 무선 수동형 센서 망은 RF 소스가 센서 노드에게 에너지를 공급하여 적어도 이론적으로 배터리 없이 영원히 동작할 수 있는 망이다. 그러나 기술이 성숙하지 못하여 무선 수동형 센서 망은 아직 센서 노드에서 에너지의 희소성, 에너지 수신과 data 전송의 동시불가성, data 전송의 비효율성 등 많은 어려움을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 현실적 제약을 고려하여 여러 센서 노드가 하나의 싱크 노드에게 packet을 전달하기 위한 기본적인 MAC 방식을 제안한다. 수신한 에너지로 캐패시터를 충전하는 충전 구간과 싱크 노드와 통신하는 활동 구간이 번갈아 반복되는 시간 구조에 기초하여 제안하는 MAC 방식은 활동 구간 동안 slotted ALOHA를 따라 싱크 노드에게 패?을 전달한다. 일반적으로 경합형 방식은 throughput이 상대적으로 낮은 경향을 보인다. 따라서 모의 실험 방법을 이용하여 제안하는 MAC 방식의 throughput 성능을 다각도로 평가한다. 모의 실험 결과로부터 활동 구간의 길이를 적절히 설정하여 망 전체 throughput 성능을 높일 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

CNT를 이용한 Supercapacitor의 충.방전 특성 (The Effect of CNT Electrode on the Charging and Discharging Characteristics of Supercapacitor)

  • Two sorts of electrode composed of Sulpur/CNT/PVDF and Silver/CNT/PVDF were prepared by in situ chemical method and their electrochemical performance were evaluated by using cyclic voltammetry, impedance measurement and constant-current charge/discharge cycling technique. Also, composite electrodes were characterized by FE-SEM and BET. Raw materials such as CNT/Silver and CNT/Sulfur were mixed in ethanol, dried. These mixed materials were heated at 900 and $320^{\circ}C$ for 2hr, respectively in order to enhance contact among CNT electrodes. Electric double layer capacitor cells were fabricated using these mixed powder with polymer of PVDF. For the charging and discharging characteristics measured at scan rate of 1 mA/s, Supercapacitor of Sulphur-CNT-PVDF electrode showed a better performance than that of Ag-CNT-PVDF, which seems to be related with lower contact resistance of Sulphur-CNT-PVDF electrode.

  • 21세기 현대사회에 있어서 이차전지 배터리(Battery)를 이용한 휴대용 전자제품은 계속해서 경량, 소형화되어가는 추세 속에서 있다. 그리고 이러한 추세와 더불어 우리는 몸에 착용할 수 있는 전자 장비를 이용하여 하루 일상생활에서 정보를 수집, 공유하는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 활동하고 있다. 따라서 소형 가전제품 및 디지털 기기를 사용하면서 재충전할 수 있는 이차전지 배터리의 역할은 점점 더 중요하게 증가하고 있다. 이러한 증가와 더불어 이차전지 배터리 성능시험은 특성, 수명, 고장진단, 재활용 등의 다양한 시험방법을 요구하고 있으며 있다. 또한 배터리의 안전과 적절한 기능을 보장하기 위한 배터리 테스트 시스템 구축과 이에 따른 지침 및 올바른 기본지식이 고려되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 배터리의 성능과 직접으로 연결된 시나리오별 충방전에 따른 이차전지 리튬이온(Li-ion) 배터리의 특성에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
