  • Recently, the gate oxide damage induced by the plasma processes has been one of the most significant reliability issues as the gate oxide thickness falls below 10 nm. The process-induced damage was studied with the metal antenna test structures. In addition to the electron trapping, the hole trapping in a 10 nm thick gate oxide due to the plasma-induced charging was observed in the NMOS's with a metal antenna. The hole trapping gave rise to the decrease of the transconductance (gm) similarly to the case of the electron trapping, but to the extent much less than the electron trapping. It would be because the electrical stress that the plasma-induced charging forced to the gate oxide for the devices with the hole trapping was much smaller than for those with the electron trapping. This hypothesis was strongly supported by the measured characteristics of the Fowler-Nordheim current in the gate oxide.

  • This paper suggests an improved switch architecture for the rechargeable battery protection IC. In the existing protection IC, charging and discharging switches composed of the CMOS transistor and the diode are external components. It is difficult to integrate the switches in a CMOS process due to the large chip-size overhead and inevitable parasitic effects. In this paper, we propose a new switch architecture of the MOSFET's 'diode connection' method. The performance and chip-size overhead are proved to be adequate for the fully integrated protection IC.

  • The streaming electrification process of vegetable insulating oils occurring when the oils contacted with solid material in a high power transformer circulation system seems to cause electrical discharge incidents and may cause failures. We therefore measured the dielectric breakdown voltage tendency of vegetable insulating oils flowing on the surface of the charging device with various velocity and temperature. First, the relation between the velocity and breakdown voltage tendency of vegetable oils, can be explained by volume effect and v-t effect. Second, experimental results show that applied voltage have little effect on dielectric breakdown voltage, when vegetable insulating oils used for large power transformer.

  • The charge transfer rate in polypyrrole(PPy) electropolymerized within poly(acrylonitrile-co-butadiene)(PAB) was compared with that in PPy deposited Pt electrodes by using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry in acetonitrile. For both electrodes anodic and cathodic peak currents were proportional to scan rates below 100 mV/sec, but to square root of scan rates beyond 200 mV/sec. The apparent diffusion coefficient of $ClO{_4}^-$ in the PPy/PAB composite is estimated to be 1.6 times larger than that in PPy. The PPy films composited within PAB layer showed higher anodic and cathodic currents and possessed faster charging-discharging process and larger capacity.

  • This study was developed through the secondary battery module charging/discharger possible utilization in the production process equipment circuit. The developed module is ensuring construction of efficient and productive charging and discharger through this research a limit on the yield and the price of existing single -channel charge and discharger circuit as a 5V 70A grade secondary battery Formation charge and discharger for up to 1 board 4 channels. In order to improve the sensing accuracy, through a robust differential amplifier circuit described using 16bit Analog-Digital Converter and noise was secured 16bit resolution sensing. The configuration also made demands for property Rise / Fall Time. Data Acquisition, discharge efficiency and also to fit the sink circuit temperature level for mass production.

  • Residual gas acts as a diluent which results in reducing the in-cylinder temperature as well as the flame speed, significantly affecting fuel economy, NOx emissions and combustion stability. Therefore it is important to determine the residual gas fraction as a function of the engine operating parameters accurately. However, the determination of the residual gas fraction is very sophisticated due to the unsteady state of induction and exhaust process. There has been little work toward the development of a generally applicable model for quantitative predictions of residual gas fraction. In this paper, a simple model for calculating the residual gas fraction in SI engines was suggested. The amount of fresh air was evaluated through AFR and fuel consumption. After this, from the intake temperature and pressure, the amount of total cylinder-charging gas was estimated. The residual gas fraction was derived by comparing the total charging and fresh air. This results coincide with measured EGR value very well.

  • In order to meet various requirements for transmission quality of both primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) in cognitive radio networks, we introduce a channel bonding mechanism for PUs and a channel reservation mechanism for SUs, then we propose a novel spectrum allocation strategy. Taking into account the mistake detection and false alarm due to imperfect channel sensing, we establish a three-dimensional Markov chain to model the stochastic process of the proposed strategy. Using the method of matrix geometric solution, we derive the performance measures in terms of interference rate of PU packets, average delay and throughput of SU packets. Moreover, we investigate the influence of the number of the reserved (resp. licensed) channels on the system performance with numerical experiments. Finally, to optimize the proposed strategy socially, we provide a charging policy for SU packets.

  • We have developed 1 kW-class PEMFC-battery hybrid system independently powering to the building, through the process of system design, current load characteristics analysis, power system configuration for demonstration site and performance evaluation. In order to use the fuel cell and battery as the hybrid type, a control technology for the charging/discharging decision and charging speed of the battery is required rather than using fuel cell. Also output power distribution between PEMFC and the battery is a core of energy management technology. It is confirmed that it is possible to supply independently 1kW powering the building to ensure optimal energy management through the power control experiment of the hybrid system.

  • Nowadays, multi-MHz wireless power transfer (WPT) system has received a great concern of study due to its desirable characteristics such as user convenience, system compact and better safety as compared to the conventional DC-DC with cord. This paper presents a solution for WPT Lithium Batteries charger with Constant Current (CC) and Constant Voltage (CV) charging process. The proposed system consists of a high frequency class D power amplifier, a pair of PCB coil, transformable high-order resonant network and a full-bridge rectifier. The charger can be implemented CC /CV charging profile thanks to automatic reconfigurable resonant compensator. Therefore, the battery can be fully charged without the help of an additional DC/DC converter. The simulation and 50W-6.78-MHz hardware experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed method and to evaluate the performance of the proposed wireless battery charger.

  • Pneumatic System has been mainly used as main equipment for actuation and control of fluid force in manufacturing industry. For velocity control of piston, meter-out restriction method is used in many cases. In this systems, meter-out restriction method is adopted for analysing the Dynamic Charging and Discharging Process which is Variable Volume Chamber. Experiments has been conducted for different supply pressure condition. As a experimental result, charge side chamber pressure rises to supply pressure rapidily and discharge side chamber pressure decreases. Also, when the air in the cylinder is discharged, tempdrature of air decreases steeply. Restriction of the Cylinder sometimes freeze and it dose not function. The result will be useful for the analysis of pneumatic system.
