  • The objective of this study was to evaluate particle collection performance of electrostatic precipitator (ESP) integrated with double skin façade in naturally ventilated residential buildings using numerical method. To evaluate the efficiency, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation based on electric potential and Lagrangian method was applied. The CFD model was validated by comparing the simulated results with the experimental data including thermal characteristic of double skin façade (DSF) and particle removal characteristic of electrostatic precipitator. The validation results showed that the root mean square error (RMSE) between predicted values and measured values of velocity and temperature in intermediate space of DSF was 1.2%. The adequacy of ion space charge density and turbulent model were determined. The RMSE between predicted values and measured values of collection efficiency of ESP was 9.2%. In addition, the case study was performed to present the application of the numerical method based on validation results of ESP integrated with façade.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest formulation of collection development policies of electronic materials for special libraries related to economy and society. First, according to the basic directions and aims of special libraries, the written collection development policies should be codified. Second, the electronic materials selection committee or collection development committee should be formed at the organization level. Third, the special libraries should make advantageous contracts of purchase based on the cooperations between libraries through the formation of a consortium. Fourth, librarians in charge of collection development need to have substantial work abilities to cope with their role and expertism in the electronic environment. Fifth, to activate electronic materials, the strategy for budget increases should be made.

  • Intensity modulated photocurrent spectroscopy and intensity modulated photovoltage spectroscopy were investigated to measure the dynamic response of charge transfer and recombination in the standard, $TiCl_4$-treated and the combined scattering layer electrode dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). IMPS and IMVS provided transit time ($\tau_n$), lifetime ($\tau_r$), diffusion coefficient ($D_n$) and effective diffusion length ($L_n$). These expressions are derived that generation, collection, and recombination of electrons in a thin layer nanocrystalline DSSC under conditions of steady illumination and with a superimposed small amplitude modulation. In this experimental, IMPS/IMVS showed that the main effect of $TiCl_4$ treatment is to suppress the recombination of photogenerated electrons, thereby extending their lifetime. And the Diffusion coefficient of combined scattering layer electrode is $6.10{\times}10^{-6}$ higher than that of the others, resulting in longer diffusion length.

  • Surface science is intrinsically related to the performance of solar cells. In solar cells the generation and collection of charge carriers determines their efficiency. Effective transport of charge carriers across interfaces and minimization of their recombination at surfaces and interfaces is of utmost importance. Thus, the chemistry at the surfaces and interfaces of these devices must be determined, and related to their performance. In this talk we will discuss the role of two important interfaces, First, the role of surface passivation is very important in limiting the rate of carrier of recombination. Here we will combine x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of the surface of a Si device with electrical measurements to ascertain what factors determine the quality of a solar cell passivation. In addition, the quality of the heterojunction interface in a ZnSe/CdTe solar cell affects the output voltage of this device. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy gives some insight into the composition of the interface, while ultraviolet photoemission yields the relative energy of the two materials' valence bands at the junction, which controls the open circuit voltage of the solar cell. The relative energies of ZnSe and CdTe at the interface is directly affected by the material quality of the interface through processing.

  • The two-stage electrostatic air cleaner is a particle control device that uses electrical forces to move particles in the flowing gas stream onto collector plates. Despite a general understanding of electrostatic air cleaner operation and their successful use in industry, many questions regarding flow, electric fields and particle collection have remained unanswered. In this paper, an experimental investigation for designing the discharge electrode, including ionizer wire diameter, plate length and wire-to-plate spacing, is carried out. The electrical conditions, namely the electric field intensity, the space current and the particle charge intensity, in wire-plate electrostatic air cleaner are reported and examined.

  • A numerical simulation for particle collection efficiency in a wire-plate electrostatic precipitator (ESP) has been performed. Method of characteristics and finite differencing method (MOC-FDM) were employed to obtain electric field and space charge density, and lattice boltzmann method (LBM) was used to predict the Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) flow according to the ion convection. Large eddy simulation (LES) was considered for turbulent flow and particle simulation was performed by discrete element method (DEM) which considered field charging, electric force, drag force and wall-collision. One way coupling from FDM to LBM was used with small and low density particle assumption. When the charged particle collided with the collecting plate, particle-wall collision was calculated for re-entertainment effect and the effect of gravity force was considered.

  • Numerical simulations for the effects of secondary flow and turbulence diffusion on the particle concentration distributions have been carried out for the single stage electrostatic precipitator. The electrohydrodynamic secondary flow, particle concentration distribution and collection efficiency have been evaluated as a function of dimensionless parameters such as Re, $N_{end}$, $P_{e}$ x. The results of simulations show that for increasing secondary flow intensity the concentration distribution is drastically deformed and collection efficiency is decreased which is more than due to turbulent diffusion.n.n.

  • Applying an external electric field across air filter media is one of methods to improve the filtration performance. Metal wire meshes have been commonly used as electrodes situated on both sides of a thick filter pad. For a thin filter medium a short circuit, known as the biggest drawback for applying an external electric field to air filter, can occur at the closest point between electrodes. In this study several types of insulated meshes were prepared by coating #50 meshes with a dielectric material, Nylon 66, and the filtration property of air filter was evaluated at the presence of external electric field using those insulated meshes as electrodes and compared with that of filters using bared meshes. The collection efficiency of tested filter was increased from 78% to 95% for singly charged 100 nm particles by application of external electric field. As a result, there was no significant difference in collection efficiency between filters with insulated and bared electrodes. Similar results could be also seen from the tests using polydisperse particles. Finally, through this study, we found that the insulation of mesh electrodes doesn't affect the filtration performance of fibrous air filter under external electric field.

  • The purpose of this study has its meaning to indicate the direction on collection and preservation of national literature which is one of the must important functions of the Central National Library. The Central National Library is, however, a representative library of our country and collect every kind of literature and to meet the requests of its users, the present situation of The Central National Library can't be performed sufficiently on these actions. According to studies of this paper, it have suggested the following five methods as a method of collecting national literature. First, the method by registering copyright endowing the number of copyright like ISBN. Second, the method a n.0, pplied by revising and su n.0, pplementing present legal deposit system. Thirdly, the method that the central one institution secure national budget collect literature of nation i.e., central intensive collection one. Fouthly , method of collecting literature by partial charge through local library networks. Fifthly, method by subject intensive collecting. As the preserving method of national literature, this research has indicated the following two ways. First, to keep the literatures forever, the method of The Central National Library keeps records as a limited volume. Second, The method of dispersing records as the local libraries. To put these methods into practice, it must be preceded that not only national helps, budget secures are needed but special committee must be organized to keep and preserve national literatures and material range also be extended and bibliographies for information data issuing must be worked out.

  • Along with the launch of National R&D Program in 1982, National R&D licensing policy began to operate in order to expand and promote the outputs of R&D. Even though various studies attempted to draw plans to improve the National R&D licensing policy, most of their focus was limited to the collection and allocation structure of royalty. Thus, with the aim of approaching National R&D licensing policy in a whole cyclic perspective [from collection allocation to execution' post control], this study incorporates interviews with specialists and officials in charge of technology licensing fee, Industry-University-Institute surveys as well as literature review. Through this endeavor, suggestions are made in the aspects of (1) National R&D licensing policy reformation, (2) Technology licensing fee collection and allocation structure refinement, (3)Post control system establishment.
