State-of-the-art of semiactive control systems using MR fluid dampers in civil engineering applications

  • Semiactive control systems have received considerable attention for protecting structures against natural hazards such as strong earthquakes and high winds, because they not only offer the reliability of passive control systems but also maintain the versatility and adaptability of fully active control systems. Among the many semiactive control devices, magnetorheological (MR) fluid dampers comprise one particularly promising class. In the field of civil engineering, much research and development on MR fluid damper-based control systems has been conducted since this unique semiactive device was first introduced to civil engineering applications in mid 1990s. In 2001, MR fluid dampers were applied to the full-scale in-service civil engineering structures for the first time. This state-of-the-art paper includes a detailed literature review of dynamic models of MR fluid dampers for describing their complex dynamic behavior and control algorithms considering the characteristics of MR fluid dampers. This extensive review provides references to semiactive control systems using MR fluid dampers. The MR fluid damper-based semiactive control systems are shown to have the potential for mitigating the responses of full-scale civil engineering structures under natural hazards.

에스닉 레스토랑 이용객의 푸드네오포비아 성향이 레스토랑 이미지 및 고객 만족과 충성도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Food Neophobia on Restaurant Image, Customer Satisfaction, and Loyalty in Ethnic Restaurant)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of food neophobia on restaurant image, customer satisfaction, and loyalty in ethnic restaurants. A self-administered survey for data collection 581 customers who visited an ethnic restaurant in August, 2015. Statistical analyses included descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis for SPSS 21.0. The finding of the study indicated that the differences of food neophobia score in demographic characteristics showed significant differences by age, occupation, dining-out frequency, and source of dining-out information, not by gender. The mean value of food neophilic group was significantly higher than food neophobic group in all items of restaurant image, overall satisfaction and customer loyalty. The regression analysis showed that tangible aspect, price aspect, and food aspect of restaurant image had positive effects on overall satisfaction and customer loyalty however employee service showed different result by groups. The finding of the study offer marketing strategies for ethnic restaurants to induce customer revisit.

Web-GIS를 이용한 논산시 하천수질 관리 정보 지원시스템 구현(I) (Development of River Quality Management Information System Using Web-GIS of Nonsan-si(I))

  • The purpose of this study is to construct e-Nonsan, a user friendly river quality management information system for Nonsan-si basin using GIS (geographical information system) technology. GIS was ideally suited featuring a geographical characteristics(e.g., industries, cattle sheds) and very effectively used in mapping and symbolization for the distribution of the spatial/periodic status(e.g., pie or column chart) of the point/non-point pollutant source loads which can be effectively applied to a information system on the web-site. And a user interface, GUI(graphic user interface) was designed very diversely and simply enabled the and non environmental experts connect with the system and obtain a useful information of river quality. e-Nonsan, a visual mapping system for river quality was developed by reframing the monitoring data as graphic symbols and it was ideally suited to exploring area-wide river quality at a user-friendly manner due to extensibility and scalability along the various survey points. Eventually the final step of this study was to construct e-Nonsan based on Web-GIS could be assessed anywhere if internet service is available and offer a very useful information services of the river quality to the publics.

Determinants of Live Commerce Acceptance: Focusing on the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)

  • Live Commerce is rapidly emerging as a new paradigm for the digital economy and consumption activities in the post-COVID era. Many prior studies have been conducted on Live Commerce, but studies focusing on the characteristics of sources of Live Commerce are insufficient. This study aimed to investigate the human factors of sources that affect consumers' intention to use Live Commerce. For this purpose, based on an expanded TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) through literature research, variables were set, and a survey was conducted targeting Korean consumers who have experienced purchasing products through Live Commerce. Excluding unreliable data, 201 responses were utilized in the analysis of this study. At first, the measurement tools were checked through validity and reliability verification, and correlation analysis was conducted to identify the relationships between variables. Then, the proposed hypotheses were verified through multiple regression analysis. As a result, firstly, the human factors of sources had a positive effect on PU (Perceived Usefulness). Secondly, the PEOU (perceived ease of use) had a positive effect on both PU and CS (Consumer Satisfaction). Thirdly, PU had a positive effect on CS and ITU (Intention to Use). Finally, CS with Live Commerce had a positive effect on the ITU. Through this study, we try to provide an understanding of consumer behavior in the Live Commerce environment and contribute to enhancing the service provider's ability to offer high-quality Live Commerce content.

녹차 선택 속성을 통한 미국 녹차소비자의 시장 세분화에 관한 연구 (Segmentation of American Green Tea Customers based on Their Green Tea Choice Attributes)

  • This study was conducted to obtain a better understanding of American green tea consumers for increasing Korean green tea sales in the US market. In doing so, this study investigated green tea choice attributes of US consumers and segmented them based upon their perceptions about important attributes of green tea. A factor-cluster segmentation approach was used for this study. An exploratory factor analysis identified five green tea choice motives: 'Sensory', 'Diet', 'Price', 'Health', and 'Brand'. Based upon these five choice attributes, cluster analyses classified all respondents into four homogeneous subgroups: 'Highly motivated', 'Taste/Price oriented', 'Health oriented', and 'Brand oriented'. Cross-tab tests proved that green tea consumption and purchasing patterns were significantly different among the four clusters. In particular, two cluster groups representing 'Highly motivated' and 'Health oriented' groups were found to offer the most utility for further American green tea market segmentation research. Findings show that American green tea consumers include a wide range of age groups and they usually buy green tea at grocery markets. Managerial implications for all cluster groups based upon their unique characteristics are provided. Korean green tea companies can apply these findings in order to develop more effective and efficient marketing strategies to attract American consumers to buy more Korean green tea.

병원 간 전원 시간에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 일개 사설이송단을 중심으로 - (Factors influencing inter-hospital transfer time - A private ambulance -)

  • Purpose: This study is to figure out not only the characteristics relating to transfer time of inter-hospital transfer patient which is transferred by a private ambulance, but also factors influencing the transfer time. Methods: In this study, an analysis of 750 patients with high severity levels among those transferred to another hospital by a private ambulance in Busan for whole year of 2017. Results: The results showed that the following factors significantly influence the total inter-hospital transfer time: Ambulance crew (${\beta}=10.525$, p=.001) and patient and carer (${\beta}=37.606$, p<.001) when setting a doctor (selecting a medical institution) as a criterion; availability of the specialized care (${\beta}=12.435$, p=.008) when setting the near distance (reason for selecting a hospital for transfer) as a criterion. The explanatory power of this analysis was R2=0.423, whereas the explanatory power of calibration was R2=0.411. Conclusions: Factors that increase the total inter-hospital transfer time were the ambulance crew, and patient and carer's selecting a medical institution, and the reason for selecting a hospital where enables to offer the specialized care services.

모바일 콘텐츠 서비스에 대한 인지된 사용자 가치 결정요인에 관한 연구 (Determinants of Users' Perceived Value on Mobile Contents Service)

  • Recently, mobile internet technologies are enabling the possibility of radically new computing services which can share information and communicate with others on the move. In this situation, prior studies have attempted to identify of what factors make people use mobile internet. However, prior researches focused on investigating the factors affecting users' adoption to Mobile Internet. In order to offer beneficial materials to mobile internet companies, we investigated important factors to increase mobile users' value from the viewpoints of customer. In particular, this study was progressed how characteristics of mobile contents affect users' intrinsic attributes and how perceived users' network effects affect users' value in the mobile computing environments. To empirically test proposed hypotheses, we have analyzed 285 survey data gathering from mobile internet users and verified hypotheses by using SEM (structural equation modeling). Based on the results of this study, we found that content accessibility and content quality have significant impacts on users' intrinsic attributes such as perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. In addition, this study also revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment were positively related to users' emotional value. Moreover, this study found that perceived users' network effects could affect users' monetary value by mediating expected benefits. Based on our findings, we can understand that this perspective can provide a deeper understanding of the mobile users' value adoption by bridging the gap between mobile internet studies and actual practice.

컴포넌트 설계에 대한 응집도와 결합도 메트릭스 (Cohesion and Coupling Metrics for Component Design Model)

  • 소프트웨어 개발의 독립성과 높은 생산성을 향상시키기 위한 재사용 기술로 컴포넌트 기반 개발 방법론은 널리 사용되게 되었다. 소프트웨어의 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 측정 가능해야 하므로, 컴포넌트의 특성을 반영한 컴포넌트 메트릭스가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트 기반 시스템의 컴포넌트 설계 정보에 기반한 컴포넌트 응집도와 결합도 메트릭스를 제안한다. 오퍼레이션이 컴포넌트의 서비스를 제공하기 위해 공통으로 사용하는 클래스에 대한 정보를 이용해 오퍼레이션 사용도를 구하고, 이를 통해 오퍼레이션 유사도를 구한다. 컴포넌트 응집도와 결합도는 오퍼레이션 유사도에 의해 계산되며, 컴포넌트 분석 단계에 추출 가능한 정보로부터 계산된다. 그리고 사례 연구를 통해 컴포넌트 메트릭스의 필요성을 객체지향 메트릭스와의 비교를 통해 살펴본다.

치과병원에서 치료시 발생하는 소음특성 (Characteristics of Noise Radiated at Dental Clinic)

  • 치과병원에서 가동되는 기기소음이 환자들에게 피해를 줄 것으로 예상되어 치료시(스케일링, 치아제거) 및 비치료시(기기만 가동) 소음특성(소음도, 주파수 특성)을 측정하여 PSIL, NR과 같은 평가방법으로 분석하고 환자들의 기기소음에 대한 반응을 설문조사를 실시하였다. 치료기기로부터 1 m 떨어진 거리에서 측정한 소음도의 범위는 67.7~78.3 dB(A)로 4 k (Hz) 이상의 고주파성분을 나타내고 있으며 응답자의 대부분이 소음에 민감한 반응(기분이 거슬리거나, 병원방문을 망설임, 소름이 돋움, 깜짝 놀람)을 보이는 것으로 조사되었다. PSIL에 의한 소음 평가 및 설문조사 결과 환자와 치과종사자의 대화에는 문제가 없는 것으로 평가되었으나 NR곡선에 의한 평가 결과 NRN에 의한 각 실의 소음기준(ISO) 중 작업장의 소음기준(NRN 60~70 dB(A))을 훨씬 초과하는 수준이었다. 병원을 방문하는 환자들의 소음공포증을 해소시키기 위하여 방음보호구 제공, 저소음 저진동 장비의 선택, 마스킹 효과 등의 다양한 대책을 수립 제공하면 치과의료서비스 질을 개선하고 치과병원 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다.

119 구급대원의 건강상태 및 건강관리 프로그램 운영 실태 (Health status and health management program participation of 119 emergency medical technicians)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the health status and health management program of 119 emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 794 EMTs in two cities from November 15 to December 20, 2016. The questionnaire collected the general characteristics of the subjects (10 items) and health-related information from 119 EMTs (14 items). Data were analyzed by using SPSS 23.0. Results: The mean value for the general health status of the 119 EMTs was 2.68. The general health status was lower for female 119 EMTs, older 119 EMTs, and married 119 EMTs; it was higher for 119 EMTs with more than 5 years of experience and for 119 EMTs with diseases. The mean value for work-related fatigue of the 119 EMTs was 3.26. This value was higher for female 119 EMTs (p<.05). 119 EMTs with more than 2 years of experience, and 119 EMTs with diseases (p<.01). The correlation between health program participation and general health status was significantly positive (r=.271), whereas the correlation between health program participation and work-related fatigue was significantly negative (r=-.375). The correlation between health program participation and program satisfaction was significantly positive (r=-.770). Conclusion: It is important to develop health management program for 119 EMTs and to offer them at all times. Moreover, the health status of 119 EMTs can be increased through improvements to working environments.
