Development of simulator by induced contact loss phenomenon for high-speed train operation (고속전철 주행에 따른 이선현상 모의 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristic of a contact wire and pantograph suppling electrical power to high-speed trains are investigated from an electrical response point of view. To analysis power line disturbance by induced contact loss phenomenon for high speed operation, a hardware Simulator which considered contact loss between contact wire and the pantograph as well as contact wire deviation is developed. It is confirmed that a contact wire and pantograph model are necessary for studying the dynamic behavior of the pantograph system. One of the most important needs accompanied by increasing the speed of high-speed train is reduced that an arc phenomenon by loss of contact brings out EMI. In case of a high-speed train using electrical power, as comparison with diesel rolling stock, PLD(Power Line Disturbance) such as harmonic, transient voltage and current, EMI, dummy signal injection etc usually occurs. Throughout experiment, it is verified that an arc phenomenon is brought out for simulator operation and consequently conducted noise is flowed in electric circuit by power line disturbance.

  • This paper describes a theoretical and exprimental investigation of the pressure - time histories of some basic internal combustion engine exhaust systems. The program package is utilized the method of characteristics to solve the general equations of one - dimensional unsteady gas flow. This analysis is then combined with boundary models, based on quasi - steady flow approach, to give a complete treatment of the flow behavior in the exhaust system. Using a rotary valve exhaust simulator, experimental pressure - time histories were obtained. The predictions are com¬pared with measured results and show a high degree of correlation in amplitude and phasing.

  • In this paper, we analyzed standard and characteristic of portable microwave digital FPU(Field Pick Up) transmission system in AWGN channel environment as basis step of research about share way of M/W broadcasting relay frequency. And we analyzed system performance through simulator design. Domestic case, digitize progress about broadcasting relay is propeled. Therefore, we wish to utilize to basis data about interference evaluation and domestic broadcasting relay standardization for reassignment of M/W band broadcasting relay frequency.

  • The Helicopter system has a non-linearity and complexity. Futhermore, because of absence of its correct mathematical model. it is difficult to control accurately its attitudes for elevation angle and azimuth one. Therefore, we proposed a GA-PID control technique to control these angles efficiently. The proposed GA-PID controller can systematically generate optimal PID parameters by applying GA theory to a helicopter attitude control system. Through the computer simulation, the GA-PID technique shows better attitude control characteristic than traditional PID control technique.

  • As the maximum power operating point (MPOP) of photovoltaic (PV) power systems changes with changing atmospheric conditions, the efficiency of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is important in PV power systems. Many MPPT techniques have been considered in the past, but techniques using microprocessors with appropriate MPPT algorithms are favored because of their flexibility and compatibility with different PV arrays. Although the efficiency of these MPPT algorithms is usually high, it drops noticeably in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. In this paper, we proposed a new MPPT control method called improved perturb and observe method (ImP&O), anda simple voltage and current characteristic equation of a PV array for PV array simulator. Experimental results verify the accuracy and excellent performance of the proposed MPPT method. ImP&O algorithm is very simple, and has successful tracked the MPOP, even in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions.

  • We simulated a hot forging process for the spider with four legs and an enclosed die forging process for the spider with three legs using an intelligent forging simulator AFDEX 3D and compared the predictions with the experiments in terms of the deformed shape. The formation of characteristic lines was emphasized in the simulation to simulate the extruded legs with higher accuracy.

  • As the power systems evolve, they are incorporating increasingly complex control and protection functions. Due to this, utilities are relying more and more on real-time simulators to study complex system interaction problems. This paper addresses some key questions regarding the needs of such simulators and their characteristic features/requirements. In countries like France and Canada, large scale simulators are developed and placed in practical use, and in others are now under development. Following this background, three typical simulators(ARENE, RTDS/HYPERSIM) will be examined focusing on the purpose, technology and experiences in a real-time simulator. Discussion will be extended to the future issues and potentials of the power system simulation.

  • This paper aims at studying the key design elements for the optimal ventilation system design, developing the design models and suggesting the design guidelines. The key elements include the basic exhaust emission rate, wall friction coefficient, vehicle drag coefficient and slip streaming effect, jet fan operating efficiency, natural ventilation force and installation scheme for jet fans and ventilation monitors in tunnel. The design models developed in this study are one-dimensional ventilation simulator to analyze the air flow, pressure profile and pollutant dispersion inside and outside tunnel, expert model to choose the optimal ventilation method, and the ventilation characteristic chart to evaluate the preliminary ventilation system. The study results are reflected in the design guideline for road tunnel ventilation system.

  • In this paper proposed to neural network PI self-tuning direct controller using Error back propagation algorithm. Proposed controller applies to speed controller and current controller. Also, this built up the interface environment to drive it simply and exactly in any kind of reference, environment fluent and parameter transaction of PMSM. Neural network PI self-tuning simulator using Visual C++ and Matlab Simulation is organized to construct this environment, Built up interface has it's own purpose that even the user who don't have the accurate knowledge of Neural network can embody operation characteristic rapidly and easily.

  • This paper describes real time dynamic tests on the digital distance relay using new digital test system including RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator) in KEPRI. The RTDS is developed by the Manitoba HVDC Research Centre and consists of specialized hardware and software which allows transients simulation of electrical power systems in real time. From high impedance fault test, it is known that the characteristics of distance reach is influenced by load flow. A detailed discussion of relay test using the RTDS simulator, high impedance faults and test results are included in the paper.
