The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between career decision-making self-efficacy, character strength, and gratitude as a factor influencing the happy life of adults. Subjects were 89 adults in university and graduate school. SPSS 23.0 and PROCESS Macro were used for data analysis. Significant correlations were found between career decision-making self-efficacy, character strength, gratitude, and happy life. The direct effect of career decision-making self-efficacy, an independent variable, on happy life, a dependent variable, was not significant. Character strength and gratitude, which are mediators, were significant. Therefore, the indirect effect and the total effects showed significant results. Career decision-making self-efficacy does not directly predict a happy life, but if it mediates character strengths and gratitude, it means that a happy life can be predicted.

Character industry is fundamentally based on a technical environment, a media, like any other cultural content industry. In order to extend a life of a character and increase the brand value, a choice and utilization of a more efficient way is necessary. Analyzing why game characters are less worth as a value of commodities than other media contents is presented and suggests complementary methods for the matter. In this study, an approach to increase a brand value of a game character, as well as, linking to develop profitable models afterward is suggested presenting a case of game development.

The purpose of this study was to investigate for gifted elementary students in science the feature of character, life goals and happiness, and the effect relationship on happiness based on the relationship between factors. For this, independent t-test, multi-linear regression analysis and hierarchical regression were conducted. The results from this study are as follows. First, scientifically gifted elementary students show higher level of responsibility, ethics, positive self-understanding and contribution goal, but lower in material and image goal than general students. Second, character, life goal and happiness are correlated. Third, female students rather than male students and students with consideration/service character have intrinsic goals. While, the students with higher level of consideration/service and lower level of sympathy show extrinsic goals. The higher the level of consideration/service and the lower of self-control they have the higher their happiness are. Fourth, as scientifically gifted elementary students have more consideration and relationship goal, their happiness go up. While, the more they have self-growth and material goal, the lower the happiness. Fifth, the character of scientifically gifted elementary students is the factor that explains the effect on happiness more easily than life goal, relatively. The factor of life goal mediates the consideration/service and happiness. In conclusion, I hope that this study contribute to raise the happiness of scientifically gifted elementary students, and considerate the character education and counseling program for character development.

The aim of this study was to investigate QoL (quality of life) of patients with esophageal cancer in northern Henan province, China, and to accurate evaluate and reflect the relationship between patient characteristics and QoL. In the high risk area of esophageal cancer in the north of Henan province, 735 patients with esophageal cancer were investigated. The Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ) and QoL were analyzed by using the questionnaire of general situation, EPQ, QLQ-C30 and QLQ-OES18. The effects of personal character on the QoL of esophageal carcinoma patients were analyzed by SPSS 11.0 software. The QoL of esophageal cancer patients in Northern Henan region was significantly affected by character. The difference between choleric and type of melancholic temperament types was significant (P<0.01), also in OESEAT, OESTA, OESCO and OESSP (P<0.05). Differences in personal character can thus influence the quality of esophageal cancer patient lives.

The study examined the influence of character on adjustment to college life in focused on the mediating effects of interpersonal relationship 220 dental hygiene students located in G, J regions between July 23, August 20 in 2018. The data was analyzed by descriptive, pearson correlation coefficient and regression in order to mediating interpersonal relationship using SPSS 18.0 program. The dental hygiene students got a mean 3.50 in character. Among the inferior factors of character, it got 3.55 knowing factor and 3.60 feeling factor and 3.38 behaving factor. Character was positively correlated with interpersonal relationship(r=.74, p<0.01) and with adjustment to college life(r=.63, p<0.01). Interpersonal relationship(r=.65, .69, .77, p<0.01) and had a positively correlation with adjustment to college life(r=.56, .56, .68, p<0.01) interpersonal relationship was positively correlated with adjustment to college life(r=.80, p<0.01). Interpersonal relationship had perfect mediating effects on the relationship between the two. The study suggest that the interpersonal relationship of the dental hygiene students did an surely mediating role between character and adjustment to college life.

In this study, we looked at whether the character strength of foreign students affects the adaptation of university life and tried to figure out whether cultural adaptation stress has mediating effect. To this end, we set up a research model based on prior research, conducted a survey of 263 foreign students belonging to G City and N City, and analyzed the data using the spss statistics program. As a result of the study, the character strength of foreign students was affecting the adaptation of university life, and the cultural adaptation stress of international students partially mediated the relationship between character strength and university life adaptation. Therefore, it is suggested that it is necessary to develop a program that reduces cultural stress and to have a professional counselor in the university who can continuously consult international students.

This research investigated the relationship among character, interpersonal relations, and adjustment to college life of university nursing students as well as to identify the factors that affect college life. A self-report type survey was conducted on a total of 180 nursing students in a city between May 30 and Jun 09 of 2016. According to our findings, the relationship between the adjustment to school life and character (r=.506, p<.001) as well as between the adjustment to school life and personal relations (r=.585, p<.001) showed a significantly positive correlation in the medium level. With improved personal relationships and with higher level of character, nursing students appear to more successfully adjust to college life. It was also found that an explanatory power for the adjustment to college life of these factors is 46% (F=75.28, p<.001). The study results indicate that it is necessary to develop a program that can improve interpersonal relationships and character of nursing students in order to enhance the adjustment process to college life.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of character, critical thinking disposition, professional self-concept, and adjustment to college life, as well as to identify the factors influencing the adjustment to college life in nursing students. The study was conducted on 166 nursing students in C and J Provinces, between May 25th and June 10th 2016. The data was analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. The mean score of the adjustment to college life was 3.27 (${\pm}0.56$), character was 4.34 (${\pm}0.59$), critical thinking disposition was 3.48 (${\pm}0.40$), and professional self-concept was 2.76(${\pm}0.32$). There were positive correlations between adjustment to college life and character (r=.512, p<0.001), as well as between critical thinking disposition (r=.508, p<0.001) and professional self-concept (r=.614, p<0.001). The significant factors influencing the adjustment to college life were character, critical thinking disposition, and professional self-concept, which explained 43% of the variance in the adjustment to college life. Based on these findings, programs that develop character, critical thinking disposition, and professional self-concept are necessary for college nursing students in order to promote college adjustment.

This study attempted to explore parents'perceptions on character and character education for their children using a focus group interview method. According to previous research, the concept of character consists of wholeness of three components: relationship, individuality, and morality. This study investigated how parents' perception differ from the widely agreed concept of character. Forty-four mothers and ten fathers participated in eleven focus group interviews. The results showed that parents recognized social relationship and self realization as two most important components of character education of children. However, the parents paid less attention on morality and wholeness. The parents conceptualized character as an alternative to academic achievement. For example, they considered self realization as an alternative to academic achievement. These tendencies could be a barrier in character education in family. Based on these findings, this study recommends that parent education should take more attention on character education in family and help parents develop a balanced understanding on the concept of character.

The purpose of this article is analyzing the ironic characteristics of MMORPG character. The MMORPG character's ironic characteristics are: inner irony which is caused by relationship between each character, outer irony which is formed by relationship between character and player. The inner irony is based on the heroic role of character and its context. The death and rebirth system of game make the outer irony. The result of analysis shows us that MMORPG is a presentational art and it can give us a profound meaning of life.
