  • Design is a fatal factor to differentiate and survive one product from the other in fierce competition of the market, when other conditions such as price or quality makes no much difference. Among many marketing tools, package design is known as a direct communication that visualizes and forms the very initial brand image of a product. Package design is not only for packing, transporting, storing and loading but for engraving the brand image in a consumers' mind and lead them to purchasing. One of recent package design trands is various ways of using character, not just as a printed image on the surface but as a part of three dimensional structure of package. If it succeed, the package design could give out the secondary fun and impact to the consumers. The package design with an effective character is itself a great marketing tool and valuable design asset, which can bring a further profit to the company. Especially, character-package can be a powerful and effective marketing method for various local products, in needs of further publication and sales with limited cost. It should motivate the sales of the products by grabbing their attention and taken as a souvenir. This research takes a character package as a useful marketing method for a local brand in Jeonju, South Korea, and tries to design a three dimensional package using its own character. Through the process, the research aims to propose an important design strategy for repositioning or enhancing an existing brand.

  • The recent domestic toy market is filled with the fever of 'Turning Mecard' produced as a character product of units showing in . The toy market of the domestic character licensing industry has shown such rapidly changing trends during the period of broadcasting contents like animation or special films targeting children. Through these contents, the characters are cognized, and also the immersion and loyalty can be increased depending on the progress of the story, on top of marketing effect while the animation is broadcasted. This effect is called gamification meaning that consumers voluntarily participate in the contents after receiving fun. Through the purchase of character products, the immersion and loyalty participate in the animation. Thus, this study analyzed the gamification elements by examining the animation and toy products of currently gaining popularity in the toy market. In the results of the study, the story structure of has the sustainment just like game, which is connected to its character product. Therefore, the users who have watched build up the relationship with each other, and the competition and reward can be done through the game using the character products, which is connected to such high immersion and loyalty.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze trade environment and examine a commercial practices for a successful launching of Indian market In general, Indian trade environment is composed of a natural environment, religious peculiarity, history and politic and economic prospect. In order to understand Indian commercial practices and secure business achievements, its national character, mode of living, customs related to foods and social relations such as exchange of gifts, religious taboos, tendency of product preference should be recognized. The results of the study indicate mostly that even though an excellent brand image, a good quality and an efficient sales network are a basic factor for making of a successful business, practically it is more important to understand a business customs and national character of indian people. Because business is accomplished through relationship between human beings eventually.

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the preference of characters for children's underwear and to find out the sensibility factors of preferred characters. It was also examined what sensibility factors of the characters were important for children's underwear as well as how characters were recognized as a factor in purchase of children's underwear. The research sample consisted of 300 Korean mothers who have children ranging from first to six grade in elementary school. Data were analyzed by Frequency analysis, ANOVA, and t-test. The results are as follows: According to the sensibility analysis, character image was classified into 3 factors, Pleasure, Riches, and Childish; Among three sensibility factors, Pleasure was the most important factor to affect the preferred character; National characters were more preferred than licensed characters.

  • Let denote the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra spo (2m,1). For each irreducible -module, we describe its character in terms of tableaux. Using this result, we decompose kV, the k-fold tensor product of the natural representation V of , into its irreducible -submodules, and prove that the Brauer algebra Bk(1-2m) is isomorphic to the centralizer algebra of spo(2m, 1) on kV for m .

  • Recently, the character recognization technique is strongly needed to enable the mobile communication devices with cameras to gather input information from the users. In general, it is not easy to reuse a CBOCR(Camera Based Optical Character Recognizer) module because of its dependency on a specific platform. In this paper, we propose a software architecture for CBOCR module providing the easy adaptability to various mobile communication platforms. The proposed architecture is composed of the platform dependency support layer, the interface layer, the engine support layer, and the engine layer. The engine layer adopts a plug-in data structure to support various hardware endian policies. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method by applying the architecture to a practical product.

  • Interest in Chinese edutainment contents product has been increasing with the importance of Chinese Education Recently, empirical education with some fun activities is in the limelight breaking the traditional passive learning. Due to a such social necessity, we develop web-based Chinese Edutainment Contents for children, utilizing multimedia functions. Especially since writing Education is very important in learning chinese characters, we also developed a writing recognition function which checks the order of making strokes in writing Chinese character. Different from the existing outline area-based writing system, it determines if the character is well-written comparing to the prestored reference points in each Chinese characters, after recognizing the order of strokes and extracting peculiar points.

  • What is the national competitive power\ulcorner What are the determinants of national competitive advantage\ulcorner In order to find these problems, this study was initiated theoretically through the international trade theory and international managerial strategic theory. The flow of studies, in connection with these competitive advantage, come into industries competitive advantage from national competitive advantage. It is understood that the flow of studies is based on the change of paradigm about the international industry environment. Today, the international industry environment has been changed into vigorous situation with the new trade system such as globalization, UR negotiation, WTO system instead of GATT. Among these environments, all enterprises in any industries should try to enhance their benefit, income profits and develop their management strategy, because it is essential for them to keep and make a profit in order to be competitive against all other rivaling enterprises. According to researchers and the ages of history, the concept and determinants of competitive advantage have been dissimiliar as followings. 1) Theory of absolute advantage : Absolute Product Cost. 2) Theory of comparative advantage : Comparative Product Cost. 3) Theory of reciprocal demand : the Reciprocal Demand Structure. 4) Theory of Hechsher-Ohlin : Factor Endowment. 5) Paradox of Leontief : the Quality of Factor Endowment. 6) Theory of technological gap : R & D. 7) Technological gap model : The Technological Gap. 8) Theory of the product life cycle : Product Life Cycle. 9) Christensen's study : Firm's character & manager's character. 10) Monopolistic Advantage Theories : Monopolistic Advantage 11) Electic theory : Ownership, location and internalization specific advantages. 12) Theory of value chain : Cost advantage, Differentiation, Focus. However all these theories have the limit of illustration regarding today's competitive situation, the Porter's theory shows well the determinants of competitive advantage with competitive strategy.
