  • Video-On-demand system provides electronic video rental services from remote video servers on a broadband communication networks. When we assume some situation that serve the same video stream by batching, each time single video stream became available at server-end side, we face the problem that what video stream to be scheduled at what time instant. Hence, in order to manage the resource bandwidth which is different at each stream, the policy of channel allocation became important factor. In this work, we proposed three type of scheduling policies with queueing, as are cumulative Waiting Time(CWT), Mean Waiting Time(MWT) and Predictable Popular Factor(PPF). While CWT policy is good for popular video, MWT policy was good for non-popular video. Also, we know that PPT policy has some fairness for average wait time and reneging rate of user requests.

  • This paper investigates the achievable rate volumes for non-successive interference cancellation(SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) schemes, especially for 3-user correlated information sources(CIS). First, the closed-form expressions for the achievable rate volumes of non-SIC 3-user CIS NOMA are derived. Then it is numerically shown that the large correlation coefficients, as the achievable rate volumes of non-SIC 3-user CIS NOMA is larger than that of conventional SIC 3-user independent information sources(IIS) NOMA. We also demonstrate by various comparisons that the impact of the correlation coefficients of weaker channel gain users on achievable rate volume is more significant than those of stronger channel gain users.

  • This paper investigates the achievable data rate for non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) with correlated information sources(CIS), under the binary phase shift keying(BPSK) modulation, in contrast to most of the existing NOMA designs using continuous Gaussian input modulations. First, the closed-form expression for the achievable data rate of NOMA with CIS and BPSK is derived, for both users. Then it is shown by numerical results that for the stronger channel user, the achievable data rate of CIS reduces, compared with that of independent information sources( IIS). We also demonstrate that for the weaker channel user, the achievable data rate of CIS increases, compared with that of IIS. In addition, the intensive analyses of the probability density function(PDF) of the observation and the inter-user interferennce(IUI) are provided to verify our theoretical results.

  • Non-orthogonal multiple access is the promised candidates in the next generation wireless networks to improve the spectral efficiency by superposing multiple signals. In general, the superposition coding is performed using the difference in channel gain between users based on the user's power allocation. However, when user pairs have the similar channel gain problem, NOMA can not be allowed in the scenario. To overcome this problem, phase rotation based NOMA is presented to increase minimum distance between superposed signals in the constellation point. This paper proposed a novel non-orthogonal multiple access based index modulation using phase rotation. The additional bits can transfer using the index bits that is allocated according to the activated state of the phase rotation. Simulation results are shown that bit error rate and achievable sum rate are better than conventional NOMA.

  • The effect of wideband FDM-FM signal on binary CPSK signal in an interchannel interference environment has been investigated. A general equation of the bir error rate of binary CPSK signal with cochannel and adjacent channel interference from FDM-FM signal has been derived. The numerical results are given in graphs as the functions of carrier to noise ratio (CNR), carrier to interference ratio(CIR) and normalized carrier separation between PSK and FM signals. The results obtained can be used om desogmomg tje freqiemcy allocation, bandwidths and powers of PSK and FM signals in same radio frequency (RF) bands.

  • Cognitive radio (CR) has been proposed as an effective technology for flexible use of the radio spectrum. The interference between primary users and CR users, however, becomes a critical problem when they are using adjacent frequency channels with different transmission power levels. In this paper, a robust CR orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) architecture, which can effectively suppress interference to nearby primary users and overcome adjacent channel interference (ACI) to the CR user, is proposed. This new approach is characterized by adaptive data repetition for subcarriers under heavy ACI, and adaptive time spreading for subcarriers near the borders of the CR user's spectrum. The data repetition scheme provides extra power gain against the ACI coming from primary users. Time spreading guarantees an acceptable interference level to nearby primary users. By computer simulation, we demonstrate that, under a CR environment, the proposed CR OFDM architecture outperforms conventional OFDM systems in terms of throughput and BER performance.

  • Recently, broadcasting environment is dramatically changed due to adopt digital method in broadcasting technology. numerous country is adopting technology for converting analog to digital. However, in the case of South Korean, standard is still indefinite. In this paper, when it broadcast using DAB system, in oder to avoid interference caused by the frequency resource shortage, DAB system is substituted narrow bandwidth DRM+ system. Therefore it considers the way that solve interference. Interference analysis simulation result shows to solve high interference area in DAB environment

  • In this paper, we proposed a method using the user mobile device to overcome the interference constraint without building a cooperative communication system. In addition, in order to mitigate interference, we apply the user mobile device selection method, and then exploit power allocation scheme in the user mobile device. The proposed protocol is analyzed in the Rayleigh fading environment, and the performance system is evaluated in terms of the bit error rate and the outage probability. The simulation results showed that when the proposed transmission algorithm is applied, the interference can be mitigated. Further, network overload problems can be solved in the weak channel interference. Therefore, we can increase the network capacity without additional relay.

  • Exploiting the energy-delay tradeoff for energy saving is critical for developing green wireless communication systems. In this paper, we investigate the delay-constrained energy-efficient packet transmission. We aim to minimize the energy consumption of multiple randomly arrived packets in an additive white Gaussian noise channel subject to individual packet delay constraints, by taking into account the practical on-off circuit power consumption at the transmitter. First, we consider the offline case, by assuming that the full packet arrival information is known a priori at the transmitter, and formulate the energy minimization problem as a non-convex optimization problem. By exploiting the specific problem structure, we propose an efficient scheduling algorithm to obtain the globally optimal solution. It is shown that the optimal solution consists of two types of scheduling intervals, namely "selected-off" and "always-on" intervals, which correspond to bits-per-joule energy efficiency maximization and "lazy scheduling" rate allocation, respectively. Next, we consider the practical online case where only causal packet arrival information is available. Inspired by the optimal offline solution, we propose a new online scheme. It is shown by simulations that the proposed online scheme has a comparable performance with the optimal offline one and outperforms the design without considering on-off circuit power as well as the other heuristically designed online schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose a method that reduces mobile user's handover call dropping probability by using cognitive radio technology(CR) in cellular - based wireless cognitive radio networks. The proposed method predicts a cell to visit by Ziv-Lempel algorithm, and then supports mobile user with prediction of spectrum holes based on CR technology when allocated channels are short in the cell. We make neural network predict spectrum hole resources, and make handover calls use the resources before initial calls. Simulation results show CR technology has the capability to reduce mobile user handover call dropping probability in cellular mobile communication networks.
