This paper reports a technique for discriminating double talk and echo path change using the stochastic characteristics of power change for an adaptive noise canceller. The causes of rapid error increasing are double talk and echo path change. When the echo path is changed, the system corrects the impulse response in order to reduce the error. However, in the case of double talk, the system has to suspend the updating impulse response in order to maintain the quality of the voice signal. In the conventional system, it was difficult to discriminate between the two situations. In this research, the stochastic characteristics of the voice power change in the double talk period were experimentally verified to be different from the power change during echo path changing. Based on the results, a new double talk detection method is proposed.

Change detection technique is essential to various applications of Very High-Resolution(VHR) satellite imagery and land monitoring. However, change detection accuracy of VHR satellite imagery can be decreased due to various geometrical dissimilarity. In this paper, the existing fusion evaluation indexes were revised and applied to improve VHR imagery based change detection accuracy between multi-temporal images. In addition, appropriate change detection methodology of VHR images are proposed through comparison of general change detection algorithm with cross-sharpened image based change detection algorithm. For these purpose, ERGAS, UIQI and SAM, which were representative fusion evaluation index, were applied to unsupervised change detection, and then, these were compared with CVA based change detection result. Methodologies for minimizing the geometrical error of change detection algorithm are analyzed through evaluation of change detection accuracy corresponding to image fusion method, also. The experimental results are shown that change detection accuracy based on ERGAS index by using cross-sharpened images is higher than these based on other estimation index by using general fused image.
In this paper, a new spectral unmixing based target detection algorithm is proposed which adopted Iterative Error Analysis as a tool for extraction of background endmembers by using the target spectrum to be detected as initial endmember. In the presented method, the number of background endmembers is automatically decided during the IEA by stopping the iteration when the maximum change in abundance of the target is less than a given threshold value. The proposed algorithm does not have the dependence on the selection of image endmembers in the model-based approaches such as Orthogonal Subspace Projection and the target influence on the background statistics in the stochastic approaches such as Matched Filter. The experimental result with hyperspectral image data where various real and simulated targets are implanted shows that the proposed method is very effective for the detection of both rare and non-rare targets. It is expected that the proposed method can be effectively used for mineral detection and mapping as well as target object detection.
The researcher set up multiple sensor units on the road slope such as national highway and highway where there is a possibility of loss, and using the acceleration sensor built into the sensor unit the researcher will sense whether the inclination of the road slope occur in real time, and Based on the sensed data, the researcher tries to implement a system that detects collapse of road slope and dangerous situation. In the experiment of measuring the error between the actual measurement time and the judgment time of the monitoring system when judging the warning of the sensor and falling rock detection by using the acceleration sensor, the error between measurement time and the judgment time at the sensor warning was 0.34 seconds on average, and an error between measurement time and judgment time at falling rock detection was 0.21 seconds on average. The error is relatively small, the accuracy is high, and thus the change of the slope can be clearly judged.
We present two methods for the automatic selection of the threshold values in unsupervised change detection. Both methods consist of the same two procedures: 1) to determine the parameters of Gaussian mixtures from a difference image or ratio image, 2) to determine threshold values using the Bayesian rule for minimum error. In the first method, the Expectation-Maximization algorithm is applied for estimating the parameters of the Gaussian mixtures. The second method is based on the iterative thresholding that successively employs thresholding and estimation of the model parameters. The effectiveness and applicability of the methods proposed here are illustrated by an experiment on the multi-temporal KOMPAT-1 EOC images.
This paper presents two methods for automatic estimation of threshold values in unsupervised change detection of multi-temporal remote sensing images. The proposed methods consist of two analytical steps. The first step is to compute the parameters of a 3-component Gaussian mixture model from difference or ratio images. The second step is to determine a threshold value using Bayesian rule for minimum error. The first method which is an extended version of Bruzzone and Prieto' method (2000) is to apply an Expectation-Maximization algorithm for estimation of the parameters of the Gaussian mixture model. The second method is based on an iterative thresholding algorithm that successively employs thresholding and estimation of the model parameters. The effectiveness and applicability of the methods proposed here were illustrated by two experiments and one case study including the synthetic data sets and KOMPSAT-1 EOC images. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed methods can effectively estimate the model parameters and the threshold value determined shows the minimum overall error.
This paper presents numerical and experimental investigations on damage detection of mono-coupled multistory buildings using natural frequency as only diagnostic parameter. Frequency equation of a mono-coupled multistory building is first derived using the transfer matrix method. Closed-form sensitivity equation is established to relate the relative change in the stiffness of each story to the relative changes in the natural frequencies of the building. Damage detection is then performed using the sensitivity equation with its special features and minimizing the norm of an objective function with an inequality constraint. Numerical and experimental investigations are finally conducted on a mono-coupled 3-story building model as an application of the proposed algorithm, in which the influence of modeling error on the degree of accuracy of damage detection is discussed. A mono-coupled 10-story building is further used to examine the capability of the proposed algorithm against measurement noise and incomplete measured natural frequencies. The results obtained demonstrate that changes in story stiffness can be satisfactorily detected, located, and quantified if all sensitive natural frequencies to damaged stories are available. The proposed damage detection algorithm is not sensitive to measurement noise and modeling error.

When retrieving voluminous capacity of video image data, it is necessary to provide synopsized frame lists of video image data for indexing and replaying at the exact point where the user want to retrieve. We apply Mean Squared Error method to extract certain pixel value from diagonal direction of a frame. The RGB value of a pixel extracted from each frame is saved in a matrix form, and this frame is retrievedas a scene change point if the compared value of two points met the certain condition. Also implement the algorithm and provide a way to seize entire structure of video image and the point of scene changes. finally, we analyze and prove that our method has better performance compared with the others.

This paper deals with the problem of double-talk (DT) detection in anacoustic echo canceller (AEC). In the DT detection algorithm with correlation coefficient, detection errors occasionally occur because it is hard to set the threshold to distinguish DT from echo path change (EPC). Adaptive filter falls into the situation that it stops updating its filter coefficients when EPC is erroneously considered as DT at the starting-point of EPC. In addition, in case of echo path changing during the DT period, the end-point detection of DT period fails so that the AEC cannot update its filter coefficients for a while even after the DT period ends. To solve these problems, in this paper, we propose a novel AEC that employs an auxiliary filter. We use the idea that though the error signal cannot be estimated using reference signal in case or DT situation but it can be in case or EPC situation. The experimental result verifies that the proposed method could solve the problems caused by DT detection error or echo path change during the DT period.
In this paper, we propose a new adaptive dissolve detection method based on the analysis of a dissolve modeling error that is the difference between an ideally modeled dissolve curve without any correlation and an actual variance curve with a correlation. The dissolve modeling error is determined based on a correlation between two scenes and variances for each scene. First, Candidate regions are extracted by using the characteristics of a parabola that is downward convex, then the candidate region will be verified based on a dissolve modeling error. If a dissolve modeling error on a candidate region is less than a threshold that is defined by a dissolve modeling error with a target correlation, the candidate region should be a dissolve region with a correlation less than the target correlation. The threshold is adaptively determined based on the variances between the candidate regions and the target correlation. By considering the correlation between neighbor scenes, the proposed method is able to be a semantic scene-change detector. The proposed algorithm was tested on various types of data and its performance proved to be more accurate and reliable when compared with other commonly used methods
