Processing and properties of $Al_{2}O_{3}/SiC$ nanocomposites by polycarbosilane infiltration

  • $Al_{2}O_{3}/SiC$ nanocomposites were made by infiltrating partially sintered alumina bodies with polycarbosilane (PCS) solutions, which is a SiC polymer precursor, with pressureless sintering. The SiC content, densification, phases, strength, and microstructure were investigated with the processing parameters such as PCS solution concentration and heat treatment condition for PCS pyrolysis and sintering. The results were compared with those for pure alumina and nanocomposite samples made by the existing polymer precursor route (i.e. the PCS addition process). The SiC contents of up to 1.5 vol% were obtained by the PCS infiltration. PCS pyrolysis, followed by air heat treatment, was needed before sintering to avoid a cracking problem and to attain a densification as high as 98 % of theoretical. The nanocomposites exhibited significantly higher strength than pure alumina and those prepared by the PCS addition process despite larger grain size. Besides $\alpha-Al_{2}O_{3}/SiC$ and $\beta-SiC$ phases, mullite was present a little in the nanocomposites, which resulted from the reaction of $SiO_{2}$ in the pyrolysis product of PCS with the $Al_{2}O_{3}$ matrix during sintering. The nanocomposites had intagranular particles believed to be SiC, which is a typical feature of $Al_{2}O_{3}/SiC$ nanocomposites.

  • The main theme of this research is a case of e-Business implementation in part manufacturing industry, especially in a PCB manufacturing company. The characteristics of part manufacturing industry are as follows. First, an ERP system runs as a legacy system that is ready to be combined with e-Business system. Secondly, the number of customers is very small. The customers are not many individuals but only a few big electronic enterprises that are strategically affiliated with the part manufacturing company. This means that the e-Business of the part manufacturing industry needs to focus on sharing pertinent information throughout the transactions with the customers, not on data-warehousing or data-mining customers' potential needs or requests. In this paper, we extracted e-Business opportunity domains from a PCB manufacturing company, a typical part manufacturing industry. We are intended to enhance information sharing between customers and the company, and provide functions of transactions necessary in the whole value chain from order to shipment. Implementing the e-Business system on the Web can increase the visibility of customers, and further, the company can be transformed into an extended enterprise where the relationship with the customers becomes very close and interleaved. Also, the Cyber Office functionality of the e-Business system can support the salespersons effectively, so that they can spend more time on customer satisfaction. Such efforts, in the future, can be a basis for active adaptation to the industry transformations such as forming e-community and participating in the marketplace.

  • 본 논문은 Fractal 구조에 기초로 한 L-형 급전구조를 이용한 4세대 이동통신용 소형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 설계하였다. 소형 안테나는 "Crossed-diagonal"라 불리는 특이한 형태의 공진 흐름이 존재함으로써 얻을 수 있다. 설계는 CST Microwave Studio 5.0으로 하였으며, 설계된 패치 안테나의 동작 특성으로서 입력 반사손실이 -10 [dB]이하 VSWR 2:1인 범위가 2.944 [GHz] ${\sim}$ 4.209 [GHz]까지 1.2647[GHz]의 35.4%라는 특성을 나타내었고, E-평면과 H-평면의 이득은 8.3dBi, 8.4dBi 그리고 3dB 빔폭은 E-평면에서 $40.6^{\circ}$ H-평변에서 $81.6^{\circ}$라는 시뮬레이션 결과를 각각 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Arsenic doped p-type ZnO thin films have been realized on intrinsic (100) GaAs substrate by RF magnetron sputtering and thermal annealing treatment. p-Type ZnO exhibits the hole concentration of $9.684{\times}10^{19}cm^3$, resistivity of $2.54{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}cm$, and mobility of $25.37\;cm^2/Vs$. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of As doped p-type ZnO thin films reveal neutral acceptor bound exciton ($A^{0}X$) of 3.3437 eV and a transition between free electrons and acceptor levels (FA) of 3.2924 eV. Calculated acceptor binding energy ($E_A$) is about 0.1455 eV. Thermal activation and doping mechanism of this film have been suggested by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). p-Type formation mechanism of As doped ZnO thin film is more related to the complex model, namely, $As_{Zn}-2V_{Zn}$, in which the As substitutes on the Zn site, rather than simple model, Aso, in which the As substitutes on the O site. ZnO-based p-n junction was fabricated by the deposition of an undoped n-type ZnO layer on an As doped p-type ZnO layer.

  • S급 전력 증폭기 응용을 위한 CMOS 대역 통과 델타 시그마 변조기(BPDSM)와 캐스코드 E급 전력 증폭기를 설계 및 제작 하였다. 대역 통과 델타 시그마 변조기는 1 GHz의 샘플링 주파수로 250 MHz의 입력 신호를 펄스폭 변조 방식의 디지털 신호로 변조하며 양자화 잡음을 효과적으로 제거하였다. 대역 통과 델타 시그마 변조기는 25 dB의 SQNR을 가지며 1.2 V 전원 전압에서 24 mW의 전력을 소비한다. 캐스코드 E급 전력 3.3V 전원에서 동작하며 최대 18.1 dBm의 출력 전력을 가지며 25%의 드레인 효율을 보였다. 두 회로 모두 동부 0.11 um RF CMOS 공정으로 제작되었다.

  • 새로운 25종의 Imazethapyr 유도체, (2-(4-isopropyl-4-methyl-5-oxo-2-imidazolin-2-yl)-3-(N-methyl-N-(X)치환-phenylaminooxoacetyl)-5-methylpyridine)들을 합성하여 치환기(X) 변화에 따른 발아 전 후, 피(Echinochla crus-galli.)의 제초활성에 미치는 3-(N-mothy-N-(X)치환-phenylaminoozoacetyl) group의 영향을 검토한 바, 발아 전보다 발아 후의 제초활성에 더 큰 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 발아 후의 제초활성은 X-치환기의 전자밀게 효과와 입체상수 $(E_s)$에 의존적이었으며 가장 큰 제초활성을 나타내는 화합물로는 $bulky(E_s<0)$하고 전자밀게$(\sigma<0)$가 치환된 화합물, 15(4-t-butyl group)와 20(3,5-dimethyl group)이었다. 그리고 높은 제초활성을 나타낼 것으로 예상되는 화합물의 조건들이 검토되었다.

  • Resistance gene mphK was cloned from Escherichia coli 209K strain which is highly resistant to erythromycin (EM). By using the cloned plasmid pGE64, E. coli NM522 was transformed. The comparison of macrolide-phosphotransferase K [MPH(K)] activity between E. coli 209K and E. coli NM522(pGE64) showed that the total enzyme activity of MN522(pGE64) was fifty-fole higher than that of 209K. To identify characteristics of MPH(K) more precisely. MPH(K) was isolated and purified from the NM522 (pGE64). The final purification f MPH(K) through several stages of purification process was 89 fole and the overall recovery was 11%. This enzyme was monomer with the molecular weight of 34 kDa and its isoelectric point (pI) was 5.0. The optimal pH and temperature for activity were 8.0 and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively.

한국산 산민달팽이 (Incilaria fruhstorferi)의 타액선의 형태 및 조직화학적인 연구 (Morphological and Histochemical Study on the Salivary Gland of Korean Slug(Incilaria fruhstorferi))

  • The results of observation on the salivary gland and salivary secretory duct of Korean slug, Incilaria fruhstorferi, in histochemical method are as follows. It is observed that there are six kinds of gland cells(Type-A, B, C, E and F) making up the salivary gland of Korean slug. Of those, type-A gland cell is observed as an acid mucous cell, and type-B, C, D, F gland cells as neutral mucous cells. But in type-E gland cell, while the membrane surrounding granules exhibit alcianophilia, granules show no reaction. The salivary secretory duct composing the salivary gland of Korean slug is composed of supporting epithelial cell and four kinds of gland cells(type-A, E, F and G), of which type-A, E, F gland cells compose both the acinus of salivary gland and endothelial tissue of salivary secretory duct, and are secreted into lumen through salivary secretory duct. But, type-G gland cell is observed only in the endothelium of salivary secretory duct and mucous granules are observed as neutral mucopolysaccharide.

  • Bacillus stearothermophilus의 cytidine deaminase (cytidine/2'-deoxycytidine aminohydrolase:EC 3.5.4.5)를 코딩하는 cdd 유전자를 E. coli cdd$^-$ 결손변이주를 cloning host로 하여 3-10Kbp의 B. stearothermophilus DNA 단편으로부터 shot gun 법으로 클로닝하였다. 고 복제수 플라스미드 pBR322 의 PstI 부위에 3.0Kb의 B. stearothermophilus DNA 단편을 함유한 pJSC101이 cdd$^+$와 tetracy-line 내성으로서 cloning되었으며, 이어서, 결실 및 subcloning을 연속 수행한 결과 약 1.35kbp의 Eco RI$_1$/PstI$_2$단편이 동일 부위의 pBR322에 삽입된 cdd 양성의 pJSC201을 얻었다. Mini 세포 실험결과, 이 단편에서 합성되는 polypeptide는 약 33 KDa이었기에 이 polypeptide가 cytidine deaminase 로 추정되었다. 또한 이 단편에 함유한 550bp의 EcoRI/AvaI 부분을 lacZ 프로모터 영역에 삽입한 경우 프로모터 활성을 나타내었기에 이 단편의 Eco RI 부위에서 PstI부위로 cdd 유전자가 전사됨을 알 수 있었다. B. subilis와 E. coli에서 발현이 가능한 shuttle vector에 cdd가 함유된 단편을 삽입한 후 이를 양세포에서 동시 발현시켰을 때 B. subtilis에서 발현시킨 경우가 E. coli에서 보다높은 cytidine deaminase 활성을 나타내었으며 이 유전자는 B. subtilis 에서도 E. coli에서와 같이 안정하게 유지됨을 알 수 있었다.
