Investigation of Simulation and Measuring Algorithm of Partial Discharge for Diagnosis of Electric Machinery Deterioration (전력기기 열화 진단을 위한 부분방전 모의 및 측정 알고리즘 개발연구)

  • This paper proposes a new intelligent diagnosis equipment for the partial discharge, which keeps deteriorating the insulating materials inside electric machineries, ultimately leading to electrical breakdown. In order to simulate experimentally the partial discharge inside the electric machinery, the tip-to-plate, the sphere-to-plate, the sphere-to-sphere and the plate-to-plate electrodes are used respectively, of which the gaps are 1[mm], 3[mm] or 5[mm] and the applied voltages are 3[kV], 5[kV] or 7[kV]. Ceramic coupler sensor and FIR digital filter are used to measure the partial discharge and the artificial neural network is used for the deterioration diagnosis of the electric machinery. The microprocessor of PD diagnosis equipment is DSP (TMS320C6713) with FPGA (Cyclone II). The results of the real-time and on-line experiments performed with the developed equipment are also explained.

Defect Extraction of Ceramic Image using Fuzzy Clustering Based Enhanced Fuzzy Binarization (퍼지 클러스터링 기반 개선된 Fuzzy Binarization 기법을 이용한 세라믹 영상에서의 결함 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 X-Ray 영상에서 용접한 부분의 기공이나 균열 등의 결함 영역을 추출하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 세라믹 X-Ray 영상에서 비등방성 확산 필터를 적용하여 영상의 잡음을 제거하고, 수직 및 수평 히스토그램을 각각 적용하여 용접 영역을 추출한 후, 최소 자승법을 적용하여 배경 밝기를 제거하고, 사다리꼴 형태의 Fuzzy Stretching기법을 적용하여 명암 값을 강조하여 결함 영역과 그 외의 영역간의 명암 대비를 강조한다. 그리고 Fuzzy C_Means 알고리즘을 적용하여 결함 영역을 세분화한 후, Fuzzy C_Means을 적용하여 생성된 클러스터들의 중심 명암 값을 이용하여 ${\alpha}_-cut$을 설정한 후에 임계구간을 구하고 영상을 이진화하여 최종적으로 결함 영역을 추출한다. 제안된 방법의 결함 추출 성능을 확인하기 위하여 세라믹 X-Ray 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법보다 결함 영역이 정확히 추출되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 세라믹 영상에서 사람의 눈으로 판단하기 어려운 결함 영역을 검출하기 위해 배경을 제거한 후에 지역 기반 오츠 이진화와 양방향 소벨 마스크를 적용하여 세라믹 영상의 윤곽선을 검출한다. 윤곽선이 검출된 영상을 수평으로 4등분하고, 각각의 영역에서 밝기 값이 변화는 지점을 탐색한다. 탐색된 좌표 중에서 최대 명암도 값을 이용하여 ROI 영역을 추출한다. 결함 영역 검출의 효율성을 높이기 위한 전 단계로 배경을 제거하기 위해 ROI 영역과 최소값 필터가 적용된 ROI 영역 간의 명암도의 차이를 이용하여 배경을 제거한다. 명암도의 차이를 통해 배경이 제거된 ROI 영역에서 개선된 명암 대비 스트레칭 기법을 적용하여 ROI 영역의 명암 대비를 강조한다. 명암이 강조된 ROI 영역에서 10mm, 11mm, 16mm, 22mm 영상의 결함 영역을 검출하기 위해 히스토그램 이진화 기법을 적용하여 결함의 후보 영역을 추출한다. 결함 후보 영역이 검출된 ROI 영역에서 미세 잡음을 제거하기 위해 중간값 필터와 침식과 팽창을 적용한 후에 최종적인 결함 영역을 검출한다. 제안된 방법을 8mm, 10mm, 11mm, 16mm, 22mm 세라믹 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제안된 검출 방법이 기존의 검출 방법보다 모든 mm 세라믹 영상에서 효과적으로 결함 영역이 검출되는 것을 확인하였다.

Fabrication and characteristics of porous ceramics from $ZrTiO_4$ based ceramic material (다공성 $ZrTiO_4$ 재료의 제조 및 특성)

  • Cordierite has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, but has problem that it has a weak mechanical strength and is apt to be attacked by acid such as sulfur for using as a diesel particulate filter support. The physical properties of $ZrTiO_4$ modified with $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3$, MoOx, $Cr_2O_3\;and\;Nb_2O_5$ were investigated with XRD, SEM, UTM and thermal expansion, etc. in this paper. $ZrTiO_4$ powder was synthesized as a monoclinic structure with processes that starting materials of $TiO_2\;and\;ZrO_2$ were mixed with ball mill and calcined above $1240^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr. Additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ specimens for flexural strength and thermal expansion measurement were obtained by mixing $ZrTiO_4$ powder with additives, pressing and firing at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr. The porosity of additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ decreased monotonically with increasing additive content by 5 wt% regardless of additive types and saturated for further increase of additive by 10wt. The flexural strength of $Al_2O_3$ (5, 10 wt%) modified $ZrTiO_4$ shows a large increase, but that of other additives modified $ZrTiO_4$ decreased. The thermal expansion coefficient of additive modified $ZrTiO_4$ except $Nb_2O_5$ decreased continuously with the content of additive. In particular, the lowest thermal expansion coefficient of $ZrTiO_4$ was obtained for the additive of $SiO_2$.

Low Temperature Sintering and Microwave Dielectric Properties of Ba5Nb4O15 Ceramics (Ba5Nb4O15 세라믹스의 저온소결 및 마이크로파 유전특성)

  • Microwave dielectric properties and the microstructure of $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ ceramics with $PbO-B_2O_3-SiO_2$ glass frit were investigated to reduce the sintering temperature of $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ ceramics as a function of the amount of glass frit from $0.5wt\%$ to $10wt\%$ and the sintering condition. The sintered density and the microwave dielectric properties of $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ ceramics were remarkably changed with the amount of glass fit which existed as a liquid phase and assisted the densification. $Ba_5Nb_4O_{15}$ with $3wt\%$ $PbO-B_2O_3-SiO_2$ glass frit sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h showed dielectric constant (K) of 41.4, a quality factor (Q $\times$f) of 13,485 GHz, and a Temperature Coefficient of resonant Frequency (TCF) of 9 ppm/$^{\circ}C$. Due to no trace of physical and chemical reaction between this composition and Ag electrode cofired at $900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, this ceramics can be a good candidate for the multilayer dielectric filter.

  • Monodisperse, spherical $PMSQ/TiO_2$ composite fine powders were prepared by modified sol-gel process where 300 nm $TiO_2$ fine powders were used as seed particles for hetero-condensation with hydrolyzed MTMS (Methyltrimethoxysilane). The reaction was carried out under $N_2$ atmosphere at ambient temperature using $NH_3$ as a catalyst. Methanol was used as a solvent. Powder was obtained by the filtration of the solution with a glass filter and washing with acetone. The stirring rate, reaction temperature, $[H_2O]/[MTMS]$ and $[MTMS]/[TiO_2]$ ratio were varied to investigate shapes and sizes of particles. Monodisperse particles of $1-2{\mu}m$ diameter were obtained with [MTMS]=0.2 M, $[NH_3]=0.6M$, $[H_2O]/[MTMS]=100$, $[MTMS]/[TiO_2]=10-50$ at ambient temperature with mild stirring condition. These composite particles had a contact angle of almost 180 degree contact angle with water, which proves their excellent hydrophobicity. The study of UV absorption spectra showed that they have UV protecting effect.

Millimeter-wave LTCC Front-end Module for Highly Integrated Transceiver (고집적 송수신기를 위한 밀리미터파 LTCC Front-end 모듈)

  • In this paper, design and implementation of a very compact and cost effective front-end module are presented for IEEE 802.16 FWA(fixed Wireless Access) in the 40 GHz band. A multi-layer LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fred Ceramic) technology with cavity process to achieve excellent electrical performances is used to fabricate the front-end module. The wirebond matching circuit design of switch input/output port and waveguide transition to connect antenna are optimally designed to keep transmission loss low. To reduce the size of the front-end module, the dielectric waveguide filter is developed instead of the metal waveguide filter. The LTCC is composed of 6 layers(with the thickness of a layer of 100 um) having a relative dielectric constant of 7.1. The front-end module is implemented in a volume of $30{\times}7{\times}0.8mm^3$ and shows an overall insertion loss < 5.3 dB, and image rejection value > 49 dB.

Antenna-Diplexer Module for Cellular/SDMB Band Using LTCC Technology (LTCC 공법을 사용한 Cellular/SDMB 안테나-다이플렉서 모듈)

  • This paper presents an integrated packaging antenna-diplexer module for wireless communication systems in the Cellular and SDMB band. The design and the realization of the proposed one are experimentally analyzed and discussed. It consists of a dual-resonance antenna and a diplexer with a multi-layer LTCC(${\varepsilon}_r=7.8,\;tan\;{\delta}=0.0043$) technology with integration capability and low loss. The dual-resonance antenna of the proposed module has the meander line structure for size reduction and has the shorting structure of an inverted F antenna to achieve good impedance matching. The diplexer of the proposed module was designed with the combination of low pass filter(LPF) and high pass filter(HPF). Decreasing the mutual interference between them provides a high isolation characteristic. The proposed antenna-diplexer module with dimensions of $27.5{\times}12.0{\times}2.2mm$ operates within a range from 813 MHz to 902 MHz for the cellular band and from 2,586 MHz to 2,655 MHz for the SDMB band. And the measured gain of the fabricated module is -1.96 dBi for Cellular band and -5.43 dBi for SDMB band. The parameters for the antenna-diplexer module are investigated and the several performances are discussed.

Dust Removal Efficiency and Operation Characteristics of Metal Filters for Coal Gasification Fines and Standard Dust Sample (금속필터를 사용한 석탄가스화 분진 및 표준 분진의 집진 효율과 운전특성)

  • Demand for improving dust removal efficiency in coal power plants and the dust removal requirement to the level of capturing fine particulate matter and ultrafine particles have been increasing. While bag filter and electrostatic precipitator (ESP) are typically used for dust removal in the processes operating at atmospheric pressure, metal filters or ceramic filters are employed for dust which is produced at high temperature/pressure system as in coal gasification. For dust removal at the high temperature/pressure conditions, two metal filters of five compressed/sintered layers were manufactured and applied to analyze the dust removal characteristics. Manufactured metal filters exhibited more than 99% dust removal efficiency on coal gasification fine particulates in mass basis. To evaluate the fine particulate removal efficiency of less than $2.5{\mu}m$, JIS standard fine sample was used and confirmed the removal efficiencies of 97% and 70~82% on the fine particulates of $1{\sim}2.5{\mu}m$ size range. For the size range of less than $1{\mu}m$, dust removal efficiency of manufactured metal filters significantly degraded with smaller particle size. Improving methods are proposed to overcome the limitations in applying to fine dust of less than $1{\mu}m$.

Effect of equivalence ratio on operation of 3MWth circulating fluidized bed for biomass gasification (3MWth급 순환유동층 바이오매스 가스화기의 운전에서 Equivalence ratio 영향)

  • Fluidized bed gasification is technically and economically proven technology, which shows the high possibility of realization and commercialization. However, in Korea, development of FBG to the commercial scale for power generation and industry is mainly blocked by the fact that there is no experience of design, troubleshooting and operation of even pilot scale fluidized bed gasifier. In this study, a $3MW_{th}$ circulating fluidized bed(CFB) was newly developed for biomass gasification. The fluidized bed was mainly composed of circulating and bubbling fluidized reactors integrating in-situ tar removal step in the system. For cleaning of the tar and acid gas in the product gas, the sequential gas cleaning process comprised of a ceramic filter, rapid quencher and wet scrubber was adopted. Effect of equivalence ratio was investigated to find the optimal operating conditions for the $3MW_{th}$ integrated system of fluidized bed gasification.
