개방형협업 참여자의 지식창출·지식공유 구조와 혁신 성과: 오픈소스 소프트웨어 개발 커뮤니티를 중심으로 (The Impact on Structures of Knowledge Creation and Sharing on Performance of Open Collaboration: Focus on Open Source Software Development Communities)

  • This research focus on the effect of developers' participation structure in knowledge creation and knowledge sharing activities in open source software development projects. Based on preferential selection theory, hypotheses of relationship between a developers' concentration of knowledge creation/sharing activities and collaboration performance was derived. To verify the hypotheses, we use the Gini coefficient in the commit contribution of the developers (knowledge creation) and the centralization index in the repository issue network (knowledge sharing network). Using social network analysis, this paper calculates centralization index from developers in the issue boards in each repository based on data from 837 repositories in GitHub, a leading open source software development platform. As a result, instead of all developers creating and sharing knowledge equally, only a few of developers creating and sharing knowledge intensively further improve the performance of the open collaboration. In other words, a few developers predominantly providing commit and actively responding to issues raised from other developers enhance the project performance. The results of this study are expected to be used by developers who manage open source software project as a governance strategy, which could improve the performance of open collaboration.

  • The effective management of knowledge has become one of the critical success factors in current organizations. In spite of the extensive use of Knowledge Management System (KMS), useful information and knowledge resources are still transmitted through personal networks among people in organizations. Thus, social network theory which focuses on social relationships in organization can be a fruitful theoretical resource for enhancing Knowledge Management (KM) performances. In this study, we investigate the effects of intra-team network characteristics (i.e., group density and degree of centralization) and external boundary spanning activities on knowledge management performances of a team. We also acknowledge that all group members do not necessarily agree on the team goal and actively disseminate useful information and knowledge. Drawing on the political perspective on KM which emphasizes the role of trust among group members, we examine the mediating effects of team trust between internal/external network characteristics and KM performances. From the data of 220 teams in financial companies in Korea, we found that: (1) group density had positive effects on KM performances (i.e., knowledge creation, sharing, and use). (2) However, centralization was not significantly associated with KM performances. (3) Team trust was found to be an important factor mediating the relationship between intra-team network characteristics, boundary spanning activities, and KM performances. Based on these results, we discuss and suggest possible implications of the findings when designing and implementing KM practices.

간호사의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction of Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify factors that influence the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of nurses. Method: The data were collected from 1st, August until 7th, August, 2005. The subjects were 238 nurses from a general hospital in Busan. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS program. Result: The organizational commitment and job satisfaction was significant positive correlations with flexibility, satisfaction, competence factors and significant negative correlations with empathy factors and centralization factor. The most powerful predictors of Nurses's organizational commitment and job satisfaction was managerial strategy of organizational characteristics. And, satisfaction factors of professional self-concept, affiliative-dominant culture and conservative- dominant culture and innovative-dominant culture were powerful predictor factors. The Other powerful predictors of nurses's job satisfaction were satisfaction factors of professional Self-concept, communication and centralization factor of organizational characteristics, affiliative-dominant culture and conservative-dominant culture, professional image factor of nurse image. Conclusion: This study revealed that important factors for nurses's organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Consequently, the manager should be make effective managerial strategy and encourage that nurse have more satisfy to professional self-concept. And the manager make constant efforts to create an affiliative culture in hospital.

온라인 커뮤니티 성장에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (An Study on Determinants Affecting a Growth of Online Community)

  • This study is to analyze factors affecting a growth of online community with perspectives of social network. Particularly this study tries to explore structural phenomenon built by interactions between users in a certain of free board belonging to the online community, in which focuses on one's writing a comments responding on those of others. With using SNA(Social Network Analysis), the social network data calculated from users' interaction shown as their comments were collected to draw out each individual's centrality value representing the structure of the online community and also we estimated duration time and the number of each comments as a proxy variable representing growth of the online community. And then cause-and-effect relationship between individual's centrality value and the duration time and the number of each comment were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, Core-Periphery, Centralization and Reciprocity have significant effects on the duration time and the number of each comment, therefore those significant values representing online structure will give an implication to manage, to promote the online community, to forecast its evolution path and to build critical policies.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of communication-structure characteristics on performance in online collaboration using the data from Github, one of representative open source software development platforms. We analyze the impact of in-degree/out-degree centralization and reciprocity of communication network on collaboration performance in each project. In addition, we investigate the moderating effect of owner types, an individual developer or an organization. Design/methodology/approach We collect the data of 838 Github projects, and conduct social network analysis for measuring in-degree/out-degree centralization and reciprocity as independent variables. With these variables, hierarchical regression analysis is employed on the relationship between the characteristics of communication structure and collaborative performance. Findings Our results show that for the project owned by an organization, the centralized structure of communication is not associated with the collaboration performance. In addition, the reciprocity is positively related to the collaboration performance. On the other hand, for the project owned by an individual developer, the centralized structure of communication is positively related to the performance, and the reciprocity does not show the positive relationship on the performance.

  • Three decades after its establishment in 1946, Seoul National University was transferred to its current location in Gwan-ak District in accordance with the Seoul National University Integration Plan. In the 40 years since Seoul National University transferred to the Gwan-ak area, much quantitative and qualitative growth has taken place, and the university has grown into a world-class research institution. In this process, the campus was expanded externally and internally, and many changes have been made to the campus life bases and facilities which were planned at the beginning of the campus' construction. This study examines the expansion of the facilities at Seoul National University's Gwan-ak campus, as well as the expansion of the campus' boundaries. In addition, through quantitative analysis (Space Syntax), we predicted the location of campus life bases of the present multi-centralized campus and suggested a future developmental direction for the campus.

Blockchain for the Trustworthy Decentralized Web Architecture

  • The Internet was created as a decentralized and autonomous system of interconnected computer networks used for data exchange across mutually trusted participants. The element technologies on the Internet, such as inter-domain and intra-domain routing and DNS, operated in a distributed manner. With the development of the Web, the Web has become indispensable in daily life. The existing web applications allow us to form online communities, generate private information, access big data, shop online, pay bills, post photos or videos, and even order groceries. This is what has led to centralization of the Web. This centralization is now controlled by the giant social media platforms that provide it as a service, but the original Internet was not like this. These giant companies realized that the decentralized network's huge value involves gathering, organizing, and monetizing information through centralized web applications. The centralized Web applications have heralded some major issues, which will likely worsen shortly. This study focuses on these problems and investigates blockchain's potentials for decentralized web architecture capable of improving conventional web services' critical features, including autonomous, robust, and secure decentralized processing and traceable trustworthiness in tamper-proof transactions. Finally, we review the decentralized web architecture that circumvents the main Internet gatekeepers and controls our data back from the giant social media companies.

블록체인 기반의 지식공유 플랫폼 연구 (A Study on the Blockchain based Knowledge Sharing Platform)

  • 블록체인 기반의 플랫폼은 거래기록의 분산처리 및 암호화 기술 적용을 통해 데이터 무결성, 신뢰성, 보안성을 확보할 수 있다. 기존 지식공유 플랫폼에서는 정보 비대칭, 중앙화 등의 이유로 창출된 지식이 충분히 공유되거나 활용되지 못하는 문제점이 존재하지만 이에 관한 연구는 그동안 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 블록체인 기술, 토큰 이코노미, 지식공유, 동기이론, 사회적 교환 이론의 선행연구를 바탕으로 블록체인 기반의 지식공유 플랫폼에 대한 사례 연구와 발전 가능성에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다. 블록체인 기반의 플랫폼은 정보 비대칭성을 해소하고, 지식공유 흐름의 일원화 및 탈중앙화를 통한 권한 집중화 배제를 통해 불필요한 업무 절차를 간소화하고, 플랫폼이 생산하는 지식에 대한 접근과 활용을 강화하여 지식공유의 활성화에 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

중소·벤처기업의 SCM역량 모델링과 프로세스 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the SCM Capability Modeling and Process Improvement in Small Venture Firms)

  • 본 연구는 중소 벤처기업의 SCM(공급사슬관리)역량 모델링과 프로세스 개선 방안을 제안하는데 목적을 갖고 실증조사 하였으며, 그 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 중소 벤처기업의 SCM역량 모델링과 프로세스 개선에 있어 공급사슬 전략계획의 모델링에서 전략적 제휴, 기술개발, 집중화에 있어 전략적 제휴를 가장 중요시하고 그다음 기술개발보다 집중화에 중점을 둘 것을 시사하였다. 그리고 의사결정에서도 경로설정 스케줄링과 네트워크 통합, 3자물류 아웃소싱 중 네트워크 통합을 가장 중시하였으며 관리통제에서도 고객서비스 관리, 생산성 관리, 품질 관리 중 품질 관리를 가장 중시하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 거래지원 시스템에 있어서는 주문 관리 선택, 가격결정 청구, 출하배송, 고객 관리 중 주문 관리 선택을 가장 중시한 모델링과 프로세스상 개선을 요하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 전체적으로 중소 벤처기업의 SCM역량을 극대화시키고 최적화된 프로세스 운영을 위해 해당 조직구성원의 역량과 프로세스 개선 관점에서 기존 전략적 제휴를 통한 네트워크 공유와 통합을 통해 품질 관리를 최적화시키고 거래지원 시스템을 안정화시킴으로써 기업간 전략적 연계를 통한 단순한 전자적 자료 교환 관계를 넘어 정보시스템의 통합 역량을 극대화시킴으로써 차별화된 경쟁우위를 달성할 수 있음을 시사한 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 따라서 스마트 시대에 최적의 공급사슬 통합 역량의 모델화와 최선의 프로세스 관리를 위해 정보통합에 있어 시스템의 호환성과 신뢰성이 바탕이 된 인프라 구축과 함께 SCM역량 극대화를 위한 조직화와 집중화가 선행되어져야 할 것이다.

경쟁전략이 자원공유에 미치는 영향: 전략적 상황의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Competitive Strategy and Resource Sharing: Moderating Effects of Strategic Contexts)

  • 본 연구는 경쟁전략이 자원공유에 미치는 영향을 조절하는 요인이 무엇인지를 살펴봄으로써 기존 실증연구에서 경쟁전략과 자원공유 간의 관계가 유의미한 결과를 도출하지 못했던 이유를 찾아내고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경쟁전략이 차별화보다는 저원가를 추구할수록 자원공유의 정도가 높아질 것이라는 가설을 먼저 검증하고, 이후 다각화전략, 상호연결성, 집권화, 자원보유수준을 조절변수로 투입했을 때 경쟁전략과 자원공유의 관계가 어떻게 달라지는지를 분석하였다. 통계결과에 의하면 경쟁전략은 자원공유에 단독으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 다각화전략을 제외한 상호연결성, 집권화, 자원보유수준과 결합될 때 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉 저원가 전략은 높은 상호연결성, 높은 집권화, 낮은 자원보유수준의 조건 하에서 자원공유를 증가시킨다는 것이다. 이는 경쟁전략과 자원공유의 관계에 대한 기존 논의가 자원공유의 의지나 의도에만 초점을 맞추었던 반면, 능력이나 가능성에 대한 고려가 부족했기 때문인 것으로 설명될 수 있다. 따라서 능력이나 가능성을 반영하는 조절변수의 투입을 통해 자원공유를 보다 잘 예측할 수 있게 되었던 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 자원공유에 대한 기존 논의의 취약성을 발견하고 보완논리를 제시했다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
