In this study, we constructed a visual sensor system for weld seam tracking in real time in GMA welding. A sensor part consists of a CCD camera, a band-pass filter, a diode laser system with a cylindrical lens, and a vision board for inter frame process. We used a commercialized robot system which includes a GMA welding machine. To extract the weld seam we used a inter frame process in vision board from that we could remove the noise due to the spatters and fume in the image. Since the image was very reasonable by using the inter frame p개cess, we could use the simplest way to extract the weld seam from the image, such as first differential and central difference method. Also we used a moving average method to the successive position data or weld seam for reducing the data fluctuation. In experiment the developed robot system with visual sensor could be able to track a most popular weld seam. such as a fillet-joint, a V-groove, and a lap-joint of which weld seam include planar and height directional variation.
Lots of neuroimaging and animal studies have revealed that tinnitus and hyperacusis share the same patterns in the bottom up central auditory process. The aim was to identify the abnormal central patterns commonly observed in both tinnitus and hyperacusis in humans. We investigated two cases of normal hearing: a tinnitus patient and a hyperacusis patient. We compared the differences between the severe temporal hyper-activated state (STHS), with spikes, fast beta and gamma frequencies after noise exposure, and the mild temporal hyperactivated state (MTHS), in no sound exposed condition. The power of the gamma band in the two cases was increased in both auditory cortices compared to the other brain regions. Our results of human with normal hearing were the first to identify how tinnitus and hyperacusis caused by sound are abnormally active and how they maintain constant pathological states.

Using the AKARI mid-infrared all-sky survey catalogue, we are searching for debris disks which are important objects as an observational clue to on-going planetary system formation. Debris disk candidates are selected through a significant excess of the measured flux over the predicted flux for the stellar photospheric emission at $18{\mu}m$. The fluxes were originally estimated based on the near-infrared spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of central stars constructed from the 2MASS J-, H-, and Ks-band fluxes. However, we found that in many cases the 2MASS photometry has large errors due to saturation in the central part of a star image. Therefore we performed follow-up observations with the IRSF 1.4m near-infrared telescope in South Africa to obtain accurate fluxes in the J-, H-, and Ks-bands. As a result, we have succeeded in improving the SEDs of the central stars. This improvement of the SEDs allows us to make more reliable selection of the candidates.
This study was conducted to compare the cellular fatty acid composition and genotypic analysis of Bifidobacterium longum MK-G7 originated from Koreans with other commercial type strains of bifidobacteria. The cellular fatty acid of Bif. longum MK-G7 was shown to be composed of $C_{160FAME},C_{181\;c18DMA},C_{18.1\;CIS9\; FAME},C_{14.0FAME},C_{19\;0cye9,10 DMA},Feature7(C_{17.2 FAME), and Feature 10(C_{181\; Cll/t9/t6 FAME}$. Bif. longum MK-G7 showed 99.9% homology and the highest relatedness with Bif. longum ATCC 15707 type strain. Both Bif. longum MK-G7 and Bif. longum ATCC 15707 showed 153 bp products on RAPD (randomly amplified polymorphic DNA) analysis, however, they showed quite different band patterns on PFGE (pulsed-field gel electrophoresis) analysis. Consequently, our present study showed that Bif. longum MK-G7 was different from any commercial type strains of Bif. longum tested.

An anthracycline antibiotic, aclacinomycin A (aclarubicin), was produced from a mutant strain of Streptomyces lavendofoliae. The mutant strain which showed a 4-fold higher productivity of aclacinomycin A compared with the parent strain was also found to produce a significantly higher amount of aclacinomycin A than the reported production strain, Streptomyces galilaeus. The aclacinomycin A was produced up to 125 mg/l using potato starch and soybean meal as carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively, on a 3 liter scale fermentation in a 5 liter jar fermentor. The mutant strain also produced significant amount of aclacinomycins Band Y. Aclacinomycin A was isolated from the culture broth by solvent extractions and further purified by silica gel column chromatography. The yield of aclacinomycin A with over 99$%$ purity was found to be over 60$%$ starting from 3 liters of culture broth.
This paper proposes a method that can be used for the resistance estimation of a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)-driven solenoid. By using estimated solenoid resistance, the PWM duty ratio was compensated to be proportional to the solenoid current. The proposed method was developed for use with EHB (Electro-Hydraulic Braking) systems, which are essential features of the regenerative braking system of many electric vehicles. Because the HU (Hydraulic Unit) of most EHB systems performs not only ABS/TCS/ESP (Electronic Stability Program) functions but also service braking function, the possible duration of continuous solenoid driving is so long that the generated heat can drastically change the level of solenoid resistance. The current model of the PWM-driven solenoid is further developed in this paper; from this a new resistance equation is derived. This resistance equation is solved by using an iterative method known as the FPT (fixed point theorem). Furthermore, by taking the average of the resistance estimates, it was possible to successfully eliminate the effect of measurement noise factors. Simulation results showed that the proposed method contained a sufficient pass-band in the frequency response. Experimental results also showed that adaptive solenoid driving which incorporates resistance estimations is able to maintain a linear relationship between the PWM duty ratio and the solenoid current in spite of a wide variety of ambient temperatures and continuous driving.
A self-charging supercapacitor is constructed through simple integration of the energy storage and photo exited materials at the photo electrode. The large band gap of $NiO/Fe_3O_4$ heterostructure generates photo electron at the photo electrode and store the charges through redox mechanism at the counter electrode. Sulfanilic acid azocromotrop/reduced graphene oxide layer at the photo electrode trapped the photo generated hole and store the charge by forming double layer. The solar supercapacitor device is charged within 400 s up to 0.5 V and exhibited a high specific capacitance of ~908 F/g against 1.5 A/g load. The solar illuminated supercapacitor shows a high energy and power density of 33.4 Wh/kg and 385 W/kg along with a very low relaxation time of ~15 ms ensuring the utility of the self charging device in the various field of energy storage and optoelectronic application.

A red ginseng acidic polysaccharide(RGAP) with immunomodulating antitumor activities was isolated from Korean red ginseng, The molecular weight of RGAP was estimated to be 12-450 kDa by gel filtration chromatography, RGAP was found to increase survival rate and to inhibit of tumor growth significantly in a dose dependent manner in mice transplanted with tumor cells. RGAP significantly promoted nitric oxide(NO) production from peritoneal macrophages bothin vivo and in vitro. Western blot analysis exhibited a newly synthesized inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS) protein band in the RGAP treated group. It seems likely that immunomodulating antitumor activities of RGAP are mainly mediated by NO production of macrophage. RGAP was further purified by ultrafiltration and anion exchange chromatography on DEAE-sepharose, followed by gel filtration on Sephacryl S-300 to give an active fraction(GFP) with stronger NO production in murine macrophages. GFP increased survival rate ten times compared to RGAP in male ICR mice transplanted with sarcoma 180 and also showed more potent tumoricidal activities of natural killer cells than RGAP. Sugar $composition(mol\%)$ of GFP was found to be arabinose:rhamnose:xylose:galacturonic acid:mannose:galactose:glucose(10:9:1:25:8:20:27) by GC/MS. The results suggest that clinical trials of RGAP in immunotherapy against cancer are highly feasible.
