The effect of wall squat exercise according to the difference in the support surface on the muscle thickness and balance of the trunk (지지면 차이에 따른 월 스쿼트 운동이 몸통 근두께와 균형에 미치는 영향)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of wall squat exercise according to the difference in the support surface on the thickness change of external oblique, internal oblique and transverse abdominalis of the trunk muscles and the change in distance of center of pressure when the eyes are opened and closed. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The subjects were 26 healthy adults, 18 males and 8 females. The composition of each group using the single-blind method was 13 people in the unstable side wall squat exercise group and 13 people in the stable side wall squat exercise group. Experimental measurements were divided into before, 3 weeks, and 6 weeks after the experiment, and changes in muscle thickness and balance were confirmed. Muscle thickness was measured using ultrasinic, and static balance change was measured using Bio-rescue. Results: There were significant differences in the thickness changes of external oblique, internal oblique and transverse abdominalis according to the wall squat exercise method by period and in the interaction between the period and the group (p<0.05). As a result of the post-hoc analysis, there was a significant difference in the change between the two groups in external oblique muscle after 6 weeks. And there was a significant difference in the distance of the pressure center between eyes open and closed eyes (p<0.05). Conclusion: In terms of instability, wall squat exercise was positive for changes in trunk muscle thickness. It suggests the possibility of using it for trunk muscle strengthening training in the future.

Immediate Effect of the Application of IASTM Using Microcurrent and a Flossing Band and on Changes in the Thickness of the Lower Extremity Fascia in Patients with Intrinsic Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (잠재적인 무릎넙다리 통증 증후군 환자에게 미세전류를 이용한 IASTM과 플로싱 밴드 적용이 하지 근막의 두께 변화에 미치는 즉각적 효과)

  • Background: This study examined the Immediate effects of IASTM using microcurrent and the flossing band on the lower extremity fascia thickness in subjects with Intrinsic patellofemoral pain syndrome. Methods: Sixty-six subjects with patellofemoral pain syndrome were randomized into three groups (22 each in the microcurrent IASTM (instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization) group, and flossing band group, and combined microcurrent IASTM and flossing band group) to evaluate the immediate effects of the lower extremity fascia thickness before and after intervention. The thickness of the lower extremity fascia was measured using an ultrasound machine. Using SPSS Window. 22.0, a Shapiro Wilk was conducted to test the normality of all variables; within-group comparisons were made with a paired-samples t-test, and between-group interventions were subjected to a one-way analysis of variance. Results: Changes in the thickness of the fascia in the thigh area were observed before and after intervention in all three groups. There was a significant decrease, and in the combined group, there was a significant decrease in fascia thickness compared to when the IASTM group and the flossing band group were applied separately (p<.05). Conclusion: Through this study, the effect on fascia thickness was confirmed when IASTM and flossing band intervention were combined, and it is believed that it can be used as basic clinical data for patients with knee-thigh pain syndrome.

  • In this study, glassy carbon was ground for lens core of glass mold press. Ultraprecision grinding process was applied for machining of core surfaces. During the process, brittle crack occurred because of hard-brittleness of glassy carbon. Author investigated optimized grinding conditions from the viewpoint of ductile mode grinding. Geometrical undeformed chip thickness was adopted for critical chip thickness that enables crack free surface. Machined cores are utilized for biaspheric glass lens fabrication and surfaces of lens were compared for verification of ground surface.

  • We have investigated fs-laser ablation as well as optoperforation threshold of PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) thin lid cover on ${\mu}$-channel with changing the flow medium from water to hemoglobin. The ablation threshold is found to be independent of both PDMS thin film thickness and flow medium, but the optoperforation threshold is dependent on the films thickness. The observation that the ablation process is well described with simple two-temperature model supposed that the cover lid PDMS of $\mu$-channel be processed with minimized thermal effects by fs-laser with low laser fluence.

  • In the face, the nose plays an important role in both function and appearance. Among the subunits on the nose, the alar is a critical nasal structure of high aesthetic value. Previously, many surgeons have insisted that structural support should be added to the reconstruction of alar and particularly so in the case of a full-thickness defect. In a 58-year-old male patient who had a third-degree burn injury and full-thickness defect in most of the left nasal alar, forehead flap surgery alone was successfully performed without structural support.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to determine the buccal alveolar bone thickness following rapid maxillary expansion (RME) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: Twenty-four individuals (15 females, 9 males; 13.9 years) that underwent RME therapy were included. Each patient had CBCT images available before (T1), after (T2), and 2 to 3 years after (T3) maxillary expansion therapy. Coronal multiplanar reconstruction images were used to measure the linear transverse dimensions, inclinations of teeth, and thickness of the buccal alveolar bone. One-way ANOVA analysis was used to compare the changes between the three times of imaging. Pairwise comparisons were made with the Bonferroni method. The level of significance was established at p<0.05. Results: The mean changes between the points in time yielded significant differences for both molar and premolar transverse measurements between T1 and T2 (p<0.05) and between T1 and T3 (p<0.05). When evaluating the effect of maxillary expansion on the amount of buccal alveolar bone, a decrease between T1 and T2 and an increase between T2 and T3 were found in the buccal bone thickness of both the maxillary first premolars and maxillary first molars. However, these changes were not significant. Similar changes were observed for the angular measurements. Conclusion: RME resulted in non-significant reduction of buccal bone between T1 and T2. These changes were reversible in the long-term with no evident deleterious effects on the alveolar buccal bone.

Electro-Optical Properties of AZO Thin Films with Deposition & Heat treatment Conditions (AZO 박막의 증착 및 열처리 조건에 따른 전기·광학적 특성)

  • AZO thin films are grown on a p-Si(111) substrate by RF magnetron sputtering. The characteristics of various thicknesses and heat treatment conditions are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Hall effect and room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements. The substrate temperature and the RF power during growth are kept constant at 400 ℃ and 200 W, respectively. AZO films are grown with a preferred orientation along the c-axis. As the thickness and the heat treatment temperature increases, the length of the c-axis decreases as Al3+ ions of relatively small ion radius are substituted for Zn2+ ions. At room temperature, the PL spectrum is separated into an NBE emission peak around 3.2 eV and a violet regions peak around 2.95 eV with increasing thickness, and the PL emission peak of 300 nm is red-shifted with increasing annealing temperature. In the XPS measurement, the peak intensity of Al2p and Oll increases with increasing annealing temperature. The AZO thin film of 100 nm thickness shows values of 6.5 × 1019 cm-3 of carrier concentration, 8.4 cm-2/V·s of mobility and 1.2 × 10-2 Ω·cm electrical resistivity. As the thickness of the thin film increases, the carrier concentration and the mobility increase, resulting in the decrease of resistivity. With the carrier concentration, mobility decreases when the heat treatment temperature increases more than 500 ℃.

Evaluation of an Amniotic Membrane-Collagen Dermal Substitute in the Management of Full-Thickness Skin Defects in a Pig

  • Background To minimize the inflammatory reaction and improve healing, a new modified dermal substitute composed of an atelocollagen, chondroitin-6-sulfate, and amniotic membrane (AM) was applied to full-thickness skin defects in a pig. Atelocollagen was extracted from bovine skin, and two modified dermal substitutes were generated according to the cross-linking type. Methods The AM-collagen dermal substitutes were characterized and compared with currently used dermal substitutes in a pig skin defect model. There were five experimental groups: dehydrothermal (DHT) cross-linking atelocollagen with the AM on the top (AM-DHT), DHT and chemical cross-linking atelocollagen with the AM on the top (AM-DHT/chemical), Terudermis, Integra, and AlloDerm. After $3{\times}3cm$ full-thickness skin defects on the back of a pig were created, each dermal substitutes dermal substitutes was randomly grafted on the defects. Two weeks after grafting, autologous partial-thickness skin was over-grafted on the neodermis. The take rate of the dermal substitutes, skin, and histological sections were all assessed at 1, 2, and 4 weeks postoperatively. Results More rapid healing and a higher take rate were evident in the AM-DHT and Terudermis groups. Histological examination revealed fewer inflammatory cells and more fibroblast hyperplasia in these two groups. Four weeks after surgery, the amount of newly formed collagen was significantly more appropriate in the AM-DHT group. Conclusions These observations provide supporting evidence that a newly developed amniotic-collagen dermal substitute may inhibit inflammatory reactions and promote wound healing.

  • The electroplating and electro-less plating methods have been applied for the high density chip interconnect of the Copper Pillar Tin Bump (CPTB) preparation. The CPTB was prepared, which had been electroplated about $100{\mu}m$ pitch of copper layer firstly, and then the Tin layer was deposited on the copper pillar surface to protect the oxidation of it. It was also very important to get uniform thickness of electroplated copper layer, though it was difficult and sensitive. In order to control the thickness distribution, it was examined that the current separating disk of Insulating Gate with a hole in the center was installed between electrodes. The current flows through the center hole of the Insulating Gate in the cylindrical electroplating bath and the other parts were blocked to protect current flowing. The main current flowed through the center hole of the Insulating Gate directly to the opposite electrode of wafer disk. As the results, it was verified that the copper layer was thick in the center part of wafer disk with distribution of thinner to the outer part toward edge.
