Average throughput estimation of EV-DO forward link is implemented on the basis of the serving coverage area per sector instead of time consuming and complicated Monte Carlo simulation. For the implementation of this analysis function in cell planning tool, $CellTREK^{(R)}$, developed by KT, both SNR vs. DRC mapping table and receiver sensitivity are suggested as the satisfying criteria to be satisfied above each threshold level simultaneously.

KT가 상용화한 휴대인터넷을 비롯한 통신서비스는 정지 및 이동 중에도 다양한 형태의 휴대 단말기를 이용하는 가입자에게 음성 및 데이터를 제공하기 위한 양질의 QoS와 Seamless mobility를 보장하는 무선망의 구축이 필요하다. 경제적인 무선망 구축을 위해서는 년도별/지역별 트래픽 수요예측 분석과 서비스 대상 지역에 대한 사업 단계별 망 확장 및 구축 시나리오에 따른 투자비의 산정과 양호한 서비스 품질을 보장하기 위한 무선망 설계가 선행 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 무선망설계 절차 및 무선서비스사업자의 경제적인 무선망 구축을 위해 필요한 무선망설계툴 운용방안에 대해 알아보고, 노미널 설계, 상세 설계, 그리고 망 운용 및 최적화에 필수적인 KT가 자체 개발하여 휴대인터넷 망설계에 사용한 무선망설계툴 CellTREK에 대해서도 간략하게 소개한다.

By using DM(Diagnostic Monitoring) data measured at WiBro network, automatic optimization function of WiBro network is implemented in this paper. The optimization function mentioned is able to be run on PC with 2GHz CPU and 1 GB memory. Automatic optimization function is one module of CellTREK that is a wireless network planning and optimization software developed by Infra Lab., KT.
