When concrete exposed to low temperatures, the free water in the concrete is freeze. If the pressure developed exceeds the tensile strength of the concrete, the cavity will dilate and rupture. It cause expansion and cracking, scaling and crumbling of the concrete. In this study, to prevent such damage, five different types of form were used. Concrete was poured into each form, cured for 7 days at temperature of -10℃. To measure the temperature history, two thermocouples were installed on each of the inside and outside. And to measure the compressive strength, collected core from each form. The maturity is formed by temperature history. The maturity and the compressive strength has a correlation.
In this research, jar die of cosmetic products which is difficult to produce variously was developed and can be obtain the productivity improvement by flexibility with two system which can control the die temperature. Flow analysis of jar was performed to find out the curvature radius of parts. In order to reduce thickness of jar, cycle time, deformation, uniform curvature of internal jar was maintained by rapid cooling. In external of dies, cooling channel, injection molding condition, die temperature control system were researched to make dies low temperature.
There occur not only many problems in the injection process but also low quality productivity due to the injection conditions of various injection factors. Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis for the holding pressure affecting cooling time. Results of this study would be helpful to setting of holding pressure for optimization of forming condition in order to reduce cooling time in injection molding.

Injection molded plastic parts have many surface defcts: Warpage, wedline, flowmark, zetting, scratching, shading and so on. In the desktop mnitor's case, Weld line have been one of the main surface defects. Nowadays in the pursuit of light weight of parts, one of the big problems of LCD Monitor thinks Warpage and surface shrinkage. In this paper, we introduce some instances for prevevting these defestcs in the side of mould drawing, parts drawing and processing condition. Based on these, we tried to find out the optimum processing conditions through repeatedly tried injection moulding after reflecting these instances.

The application range of injection molded parts is expanding by the development of engineering plastics with good mechanical properties. Plastic gears are specially used as automotive parts due to an excellent performance in the characteristics of a strength vs. weight, and the study of injection molding process of plastic gear using Nylon66 is performed in this study. Filling, packing and cooling analyses were done by using the simulation software like Moldflow, and a mold was designed by following the simulation results. Pin-point gates with three points were taken to satisfy the design guides like a full-shot, and lower clamping force and uniform shrinkage. Characteristics of shrinkage of molded gear and temperature difference between cavity and core sides of a mold were shown.
This paper presents a new approach for assessing accident management strategies using containment event trees (CETs) developed during an individual plant examination (IPE) for a reference plant (CE type, 950 MWe PWR). Various accident management strategies to reduce risk have been proposed through IPE. Three strategies for the station blackout sequence are used as an example : 1) reactor cavity flooding only, 2) primary system depressurization only, and 3) doing both. These strategies are assumed to be initiated at about the time of core uncovery. The station blackout (SBO) sequence is selected in this paper since it is identified as one of the most threatening sequences to safety of the reference plant. The effectiveness and adverse effects of each accident management strategy are considered synthetically in the CETs. A best estimate assessment for the developed CETs using data obtained from NUREG-1150, other PRA results, and the MAAP code calculations is performed. The strategies are ranked with respect to minimizing the frequencies of Various containment failure modes. The proposed approach is demonstrated to be very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of accident management strategy for any sequence.

This paper proposed efficient manufacturing system using the OMM (on-machine measurement) system. The OMM system is software based 3D modeler for inspection on machine and it is interfaced tool machine with RS232C. The software is composed of two inspection modules that one is touch probe operating module and the other is laser displacement sensor operating module. The module for touch probe has need of inspection feature that extracted it from CAD data. Touch probe moves to workpiece by three operating modes as follows: manual, general and automatic mode. The operating module of laser displacement sensor is used inspection for profile and very small hole. An Advantage of this inspection method is to be able to execute on-line inspection during machining or after it. The efficiency of proposed system which can predict and definite the machining errors of each process is verified, so the developed system is applied to inspect the mold-base(cavity, core).
Diplexer is one of core devices needed to communicate with satellite using single ground antenna by separating uplink and downlink signal. This paper presents the design of the S-band diplexer for LEO TT&C application, especially for KOMPSAT (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite). To cope with requirements such as high handling power, low insertion loss, air-cavity resonator with high quality factor was considered as one of design drivers. Design was started with predicting unloaded Q and equivalent circuit from the structure of air-cavity resonator. For the convenience of adjustment, the coupling factor placed between resonators was estimated from COTSEM (Electro-Magnetic) simulator, EESOF $ADS^{TM}$, and expressed with 2-order polynomial regression. To improve the isolation between transmitting part (Tx) and receiving part (Rx), the inductive and capacitive attenuation poles were inserted between $4^{th}\;and\;6^{th}$ resonator respectively. The fabricated diplexer consists of two bandpass filters and each filter has eight resonants. From the measurement, it was shown that major requirements such as 0.5dB of insertion loss, 20dB of return loss and 100dB of isolation were fully satisfied within passband.
Without electirc power to cool down the hot reactor core, passive systems utilizing natural circulation are becoming a big specialty of recent neculear systems after the severe accident in Fukusima. When we consider the natural circulation in a pool, thermal mixing phenomena may start from single phase circulation and can continue to two phase condition. Since the CUPID code, which has been developed for two-phase flow analysis, can deal with the phase transition phenomena, the CUPID would be pertinent to natural convection problems in single- and two-phase conditions. Thus, the CUPID should be validated against single- and two-phase natural circulation phenomena. For the first step of the validation process, this study is focused on the validation of single-phase natural circulation. Moreover, the CUPID code solves the fluid properties by the relationship to pressure and temperature from the steam table considering non-condensable gas effects, so that the effects from variable properties are included. Simple square thermal cavity problems are tested for laminar and turbulent conditions against numerical and experimental data. Throughout the investigation, it is found that the variable properties can affect the flow field in laminar condition, but the effect becomes weak in turbulence condition, and the CUPID code implementing steam table is capable of analyzing single phase natural circualtion phenomena.
During excavation work for the construction of a highway bridge in a limestone area in Korea, several cavities were found, and construction work was stopped temporarily. Cavities under the bridge piers might seriously threaten the safety of the planned bridge, because they could lead to excessive subsidence and differential settlement of the pier foundations. In order to establish a method for reinforcement of the pier foundations, borehole radar reflection and tomography surveys were carried out, to locate cavities under the planned pier locations and to determine their sizes where they exist. Since travel time data from the crosshole radar survey showed anisotropy, we applied an anisotropic tomography inversion algorithm assuming heterogeneous elliptic anisotropy, in order to reconstruct three kinds of tomograms: tomograms of maximum and minimum velocities, and of the direction of the symmetry axis. The distribution of maximum velocity matched core logging results better than that of the minimum velocity. The degree of anisotropy, defined by the normalized difference between maximum and minimum velocities, was helpful in deciding whether an anomalous zone in a tomogram was a cavity or not. By careful examination of borehole radar reflection and tomography images, the spatial distributions of cavities were delineated, and most of them were interpreted as being filled with clay and/or water. All the interpretation results implied that two faults imaged clearly by a DC resistivity survey were among the most important factors controlling the groundwater movement in the survey area, and therefore were closely related to the development of cavities. The method of reinforcement of the pier foundations was based on the interpretation results, and the results were confirmed when construction work was resumed.
