전이금속-Zeolite Y 촉매에서의 n-Butane 및 1-Butene의 반응 (Reactions of n-Butane and 1-Butene on Transition-Metal-Zeolite Y Catalysts)

  • Zeolite Y를 합성하여 Co, Ni 및 Pd 이온으로 이온교환하고 수소기류중에서 환원함으로서 전이금속-Zeolite Y 촉매를 얻었다. 이들 Co-, Ni-, Pd-Y와 La-이온교환한 Y(LaY) 촉매에서의 1-butene 및 n-butane의 분해반응을 micro-catalytic pulse 방법으로 연구하였다. 1-Butene 분해반응에 있어서는 Ni-, Co-, Pd-Y 및 LaY 모두 높은 활성을 보여주었고 1-butene 분해반응에 대한 활성은 촉매상의 금속성분과는 큰 관계없이 산성 성분만이 주로 관련되고 있는것 같다. LaY에서는 $400^{\circ}C$에서 n-butane 분해반응에 대한 활성을 나타내지 않았으나 소량의 1-butene을 가함으로써 분해반응이 촉진되었다. Ni- 및 Pd-zeolite Y에서는 n-butane의 분해반응이 현저하게 일어났다. 분해반응에 대해서는 수소에 의한 환원온도가 높고 또 금속성분 함량이 많은 것이 활성이 높았다. n-butane 분해반응에 있어서는 금속성분에서의 butene으로의 탈수소반응이 첫 단계인 것으로 본다. Ni-Y에서는 1-butene과 수소 혼합반응물 및 n-butane의 분해생성물이 모두다 C_1$뿐이었다. n-butane은 Ni-Y에서는 butene으로 탈수소되고 이어서 C_1$으로 hydrocracking 되는 반응과정을 밟고 있다고 본다.

Characteristics of Sr0.92Y0.08TiO3-δ Anode in Humidified MethaneFuel for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

  • Sr0.92Y0.08TiO3-δ (SYT) was investigated as an alternative anode in humidified CH4 fuel for SOFCs at low temperatures (650 ℃-750 ℃) and compared with the conventional Ni/yttria-stabilized zirconia (Ni/YSZ) anode. The goal of the study was to directly use a hydrocarbon fuel in a SOFC without a reforming process. The cell performance of the SYT anode was relatively low compared with that of the Ni/YSZ anode because of the poor electrochemical catalytic activity of SYT. In the presence of CH4 fuel, however, the cell performance with the SYT anode decreased by 20%, in contrast to the 58% decrease in the case of the Ni/YSZ anode. The severe degradation of cell performance observed with the Ni/YSZ anode was caused by carbon deposition that resulted from methane thermal cracking. Carbon was much less detected in the SYT anode due to the catalytic oxidation. Otherwise, a significant amount of bulk carbon was detected in the Ni/YSZ anode.

Gasoline Desulfurization by Catalytic Alkylation over Methanesulfonic Acid

  • Methanesulfonic acid (MSA) was used as catalyst to remove trace organic sulfur (thiophene) from Fluid Catalytic Cracking gasoline (FCC) via alkylation with olefins. The reactions were conducted in Erlenmeyer flask equipped with a water-bath under atmospheric pressure. The influence of the temperature, the reaction time, and the mass ration of MSA were investigated. After a 60 min reaction time at 343 K, the thiophene conversion of 98.7% was obtained with a mass ration of MSA to oil of 10%. The catalyst was reused without a reactivation treatment, and the thiophene conversion reached 92.9% at the third time. The method represents an environmentally benign route to desulfur, because MSA could easily be separated from the reaction mixture via decantation and it could be reused.

고체산 촉매에서의 1-펜텐의 골격이성화반응 (The Skeletal Isomerization of 1-Pentene over Solid Acid Catalysts)

  • 여러 가지의 고체산 촉매에 의한 1-펜텐의 골격이성화 반응에서 반응활성, 선택도, 반응메카니즘 및 촉매의 산의 세기와 촉매활성과의 관계를 연구하였다. 여러 가지의 고체산 촉매중에서 천연제올라이트가 가장 높은 활성을 보여주었고, 불소나 황산으로 처리된 ${\eta}$-알루미나는 변형되지 않은 경우에 비해 활성이 크게 증가하였다. 한편 반응온도가 증가할수록 이소펜텐의 수율이 증가하였고, 접촉시간의 증가에 따라 이소펜텐의 수율이 증가하였다. 그러나 높은 반응온도와 아주 긴 접촉시간에서는 크래킹 반응의 생성물이 증가하였다. 금속이온으로 치환된 천연제올라이트에서의 활성은 감소하였고, 이것은 금속이온의 polarizing power와 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 암모니아 승온탈착실험 결과에 의하면 촉매의 활성은 촉매의 산의 세기와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 극초음속 비행체는 속도가 증가할수록 공기와의 마찰열과 엔진열이 증가한다. 이러한 열적부하는 비행체 구조물의 변형을 야기하고 오작동을 유발할 수 있다. 흡열연료는 액체 탄화수소 연료로써 열분해 반응, 촉매분해 반응과 같은 흡열반응을 통해 열을 흡수할 수 있는 연료이다. 본 연구에서는 methylcyclohexane을 모델연료로써 선정하여 흡열특성을 측정하는 연구를 수행하였다. 반응열을 향상시키기 위해 제올라이트를 적용하였고 HZSM-5가 흡열량 향상에 가장 효과적인 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 흡열량 향상에 미치는 촉매의 영향을 연구하는 것이다. 이 촉매는 케로신연료를 흡열연료로써 사용하는 시스템에 적용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Adsorption characteristics of triadimefon and diniconazole(pesticide) by natural zeolite($CLI_N$) and several synthetic zeolites were Investigated. The synthetic zeolites used En this study were as follows: Faujasite synthesized from coal fly ash($FAU_F$); Zeolite synthesized from the mixture of FAU and Na-Pl synthesized from the ratio of Cheju scoria 6 to coal fly ash 4 by weight($(FAU + Na-Pl)_{SF}$); waste fluid catalytic cracking catalyst($FCC_W$). The distribution coefficient, $K_D$ and Freundlich constant, $K_F$ decreased in the fellowing sequence : $FCC_W > FAU_F > (FAU + Na-Pl)_{SF} >CLI_N$ among the zeolites. The distribution coefficient and the adsorption capacity of $(FAU + Na-Pl)_{SF}$ for pesticides were 4.4 and 2.6 times higher for triamefon, and 2.0 and 2.4 times higher for diniconazole than those of $CLI_N$, respectively.

Multiple fault diagnosis method using a neural network

  • It is well known that neural networks can be used to diagnose multiple faults to some limited extent. In this work we present a Multiple Fault Diagnosis Method (MFDM) via neural network which can effectively diagnose multiple faults. To diagnose multiple fault, the proposed method finds the maximum value in the output nodes of the neural network and decreases the node value by changing the hidden node values. This method can find the other faults by computing again with the changed hidden node values. The effectiveness of this method is explored through a neural-network-based fault diagnosis case study of a fluidized catalytic cracking unit (FCCU).

  • Heavy Residual Fuel oils is a mixture of reduced crude from crude unit, bottom products from vacuum and/or catalytic cracking unit with distillate to meet the specification and generally used as Heavy Fuel Oil for large combustion engines, boilers, etc…. But this study was made to investigate Heavy Residual Fuel oils for using as industrial raw material and resulted the following possibilties as valuable raw material as well as Heavy Fuel Oil. 1) Production of straight asphalt through vacuum distillation unit. 2) Using straight asphalt from vacuum distillation unit for manufacturing of Blown Asphalts, Cut Back Asphalts, Emulsified Asphalts and Asphalt Compound, etc…. 3) Using waxy oil side streams for manufacturing of raw oil to be Lube Oil base stocks through solvent dewaxing. 4) Production of lube base oils from dewaxed raw oil through chemical treatments. 5) Manufacturing of paraffine wax from slack wax to be produced as by product of dewaxing process.

Butadiene Extraction Unit 내의 Polymer 생성 억제 효과 (Effects of Inhibition on Formation and Growth of Polymer in Butadiene Extraction Unit)

  • There are many methods of obtaining butadiene described in the literature. In the america it is produced largely from petroleum gases, i.e., by catalytic dehydrogenation of butene of butene-butane mixtures. Butadiene can be recovered from the $C_4$ residue of an olefin plant by distilling off a fraction containing most of the butadiene, catalytically hydrogenating the higher acetylenes to olefins and separating the product from other olefins and isobutane by extraction. Also it can be obtained by cracking naphtha and light oil. Among the individual dienes of commercial importance, 1, 3-butadiene is of first importance. It is used primarily for the production of polymers.In the present paper, it was investigated for a effect of the formation and the growth inhibition of popped corn polymer in butadiene extraction unit. As a result of study, inhibitors, $NaNO_2$ and TBC were good effective for inhibition of the formation and growth in popcorn polymer. The rational formula of popcorn polymer obtained was $(C_4H_6)_x$.

Preparation of Partial Mesophase Pitch-based Carbon Fiber from FCC-DO

  • Partial mesophase (PM) pitch precursor was prepared from fluidized catalytic cracking-decant oils (FCC-DO) by chemical reaction in the presence of $Br_2$. The PM pitch heated-treatment at $420^{\circ}C$ for 9 h exhibited the softening point of $297^{\circ}C$ with 23% yield, and 55% anisotropic content. The PM pitch precursor was melt-spun through circular nozzle by pressurized $N_2$, stabilized at $310^{\circ}C$, carbonized at $700^{\circ}C$, $1000^{\circ}C$, and $1200^{\circ}C$. The enough stabilization introduced 16.4% of the oxygen approximately. The stacking height ($L_{c002}$) and interlayer spacing ($d_{002}$) of the as-spun fibers were 4.58 nm and $3.45{\AA}$ and the value became minimum and maximum at $700^{\circ}C$ respectively in the carbonization procedure. The tensile strength increased with an increase in the heat treatment temperature exhibiting highest value of 750 MPa at $1200^{\circ}C$ carbonization.
