Synthesis, Characterization and Catalytic Activity of Ce1MgxZr1-xO2 (CMZO) Solid Heterogeneous Catalyst for the Synthesis of 5-Arylidine Barbituric acid Derivatives

  • A series of $Ce_1Mg_xZr_{1-x}O_2$ (CMZO) mixed metal oxide with different molar ratio were prepared by simple co-precipitation method. The prepared materials were tested for their catalytic activity performance using Knoevenagel condensation of various aromatic aldehydes with barbituric acid under solvent-free condition in microwave. The best catalytic activity was obtained with CMZO (1:0.6:0.4). The synthesized materials were characterized by using XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDS techniques.

  • A simple, green and chemo-selective method for the N-benzyloxycarbonylation of amines, ${\beta}$-amino alcohols, ${\alpha}$-amino esters and sulfonamides has been developed under microwave irradiation. Good to excellent yields of the N-benzyloxycarbamates compounds were obtained in short times without any side products.

  • 최근 고유가의 지속과 국제적인 환경 규제에 대응하기 위하여 환경친화적인 대체연료의 개발이 시급한 가운데 재생가능한 동식물성 유지로부터 생산되는 바이오 디젤에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 자원 재활용 및 에너지 생산관점에서 폐유지로부터 바이오디젤 원료로 사용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 폐유지로부터 바이오디젤을 효율적으로 생산하기 위해서는 폐유지내 함유되어 있는 유리지방산을 전처리공정에서 산촉매에 의한 에스테르화 반응에 의해 전환제거하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 폐유지내 함유된 유리지방산 전환제거에 효과적인 불균일계 이온교환수지 촉매를 이용하여 공정변수 즉 사용된 촉매의 양, 반응온도, 유리지방산 농도에 따른 유리지방산 전환제거특성을 조사해 보았다. 또한 각각의 반응조건에서 속도상수를 계산하여 이온교환수지 촉매를 사용한 유리지방산 전환 제거에 필요한 활성화 에너지 값을 구하였다.

  • A high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the simultaneous determination of free and glycine conjugated bile acids. Free and glycine conjugated bile acids were extracted from bear gall bladder by methanol and from serum using a Sep-pak $C_{18}$ catridge. The extracted bile acids were labeled with 2-bromoacetyltriphenylene in acetonitrite using 18-crown-6-ether as a catalyst. Derivatized bile acids were separated from the individual bile acids on a reversedphase column (Chemcosorb 5-ODS-H) using acetonitrile-methanol-water(10:50:30) as a mobile phase and monitored by an UV-detector at 254nm. Linearities of calibration curve were obtained between 4 ng and 24 ng, and recoveries from bear gall bladder sample were higher than 94%.

Degradation of Polyvinyl Alcohol by Brevibacillus laterosporus: metabolic Pathway of Polyvinyl Alcohol to Acetate

  • Approximately 0.1 mg/ml of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was degraded by the growing cell, Brevibacillus laterospours, for 30 h, and 0.2 mg/ml of PVA was degraded by the cell-free extract that was isolated from Brevibacillus laterosporus. Approximately $0.29{\mu}g$/ml of acetic acid was produced from PVA by using the cell-free extract as a catalyst for 40 min. $V_{max}\;and\;K_m$ value of purified PAV-degradation enzyme was 3.75g/l and 2.75 g/l/min in reaction with EDTA and 3.99 g/l and 2.98 g/l/min in reaction without EDTA, respectively. Molecular weight of the purified enzyme determined by SDS-PAGE was 63,000 Da. Alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase activities were qualitatively detected on a native acrylamide gel by an active staining method, indicating the existence of the metabolic pathway to use PVA as a substrate.

  • Novel tri- and tetra-substituted pyrimido[4,5-d]pyridazines-2(1H,3H,7H)-ones have been synthesized via the regiospecific condensation reaction of hydrazine derivatives with 5-acetyl-4-aryloyl-6-methyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidinones in the presence of $SiO_2-Y(NO_3)_3$ as a green and recyclable catalyst under solvent-free conditions. All products were obtained in high yields and short reaction time. Employing this method is in accord with green chemistry principles.

The Experimental Study of Atomization Characteristics of Gasoline Spray Impinging on Glow Plug

  • In order to reduce the exhaust emissions of a spark ignition engine, it is important not only to improve the catalyst conversion efficiency, but also to directly reduce the engine-out exhaust emissions during a cold starting of the engine and warm up periods. The purpose of this study is to evaluate feasibility of a glow plug for an early fuel evaporator. In order to promote atomization, gasoline is injected on the glow plug with room temperature(20$\^{C}$) and high temperature(250$\^{C}$). To analyze the spray behavior characteristics, a PMAS is used to measure the SMD and the dropsize distribution of an impinging spray and a free spray. Results show that the evaporation rate of the impinging spray on the high temperature surface of the glow plug was higher than that of the free spray on the room temperature surface.

  • 에너지 사용량의 증가와 국제적인 환경 규제에 대응하기 위하여 환경친화적인 연료의 개발이 시급한 가운데 재생가능한 동식물성 유지로부터 생산되는 바이오 디젤에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 자원 재활용 및 에너지 생산관점에서 폐식용유로부터 바이오디젤 원료로 사용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 폐식용유를 이용한 바이오디젤 생산에서 폐식용유내 함유된 유리지방산 및 수분에 의해 효율적인 전이에스테르화 반응이 어렵기 때문에 이를 전처리 단계에서 제거되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 폐식용유내 유리지방산을 효과적으로 제거하기 위하여 회분식 반응기에서 MFI 제올라이트 촉매를 이용하여 Si/Al 몰비에 따른 산세기 및 산량의 변화에 따른 유리지방산 제거 특성을 조사해 보았다.

1차원 InN 단결정 나노선의 구조특성에 대한 고찰 (Structural Characteristic of One Dimensional Single Crystalline of InN Nanowires)

  • High-Quality 1-Dimensional InN single crystalline have been grown by Halide Vapor-Phase Epitaxy on the Au catalyst coated Si substrate using the vapor-liquid-solid growth mechanism. We have been grown 1-dimension InN nanowires having controlled the growth conditions for substrate temperature and gases flow rate. The grown InN nanowire of characteristics for morphologies, crystal structure, and element analysis were carried out by SEM, HR-TEM, and EDS respectively. And the defects of InN crystalline were analyzed by indexing of selective area diffraction pattern with attached HR-TEM. We have successfully obtained the defect-free 1-dimensional InN single crystalline nanowire at the atmosphere pressure.
