다이캐스팅 공정의 대체를 위한 마그네슘판재의 온간, 열간 ???K드로잉 성형성 평가 (The Drawbility Estimation in Warm and Rot Sheet Forming Process of Magnesium for Substitution of Die-casting Process)

  • The drawability of AZ31B magnesium sheet is estimated according to the variable temperatures (200, 250, 300, 350 and $400^{\circ}C$), forming speed (20, 50, 100 mm/min), thickness (0.8, 1.4 t), blank holding force (1.0, 1.4, 1.7kN). The deep drawing process (DDP) of circular cup is used in forming experiments. The results of deep drawing experiences show that the drawability is well at the range from 250 to $300^{\circ}C$, 50mm/min forming speed and 1.4kN blank holding force. The 0.8t magnesium sheets were deformed better than 1.4t. BHF was controlled in order to improve drawability and protect the change of cup thickness. When BHF was controlled, tearing and thickness change were decreased and LDR. was improved from 2.1 to 3.0.

스캐너를 이용한 AZ31 극박판재와 AZ91D 다이캐스팅 프레임의 고속레이저용접 (Fast laser welding with scanner on the joint between AZ31 thin sheet and die-casted AZ91D frame for smart phone application)

  • High welding speed and narrow weld seam are favorable for welding of magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloy is recommended for the smart frame because it has several advantages such as low density, high thermal conductivity, EMI shielding capability and good cast ability. This study is for the assembly welding of the magnesium smart frame with high productivity, good performance and low cost. The window for battery on AZ91D frame produced by die-casting was prepared by CNC machining. Corresponding AZ31 blank of 0.2mm thickness was prepared by die-blanking cut. All system set was fixed at the stationary bed but the laser beam was manipulated by scanner up-to 1,000mm/s speed. The weld joint between AZ31 sheet and AZ91D frame was welded by fiber laser on 850~1,000W output power. The joint showed penetration enough but some humping bead. The distortion by the weld heat was almost free because of the quick dissipation of the heat by small beam size and fast welding. Consequently, the thinner magnesium foil was assembled successfully to the magnesium frame of mobile phone.

다이캐스트 주물의 금형공동내에서 탕류에 관한 수모델적 연구 (A Water Model Study on Molten Metal Flow in Die Cavity of Die Casting)

  • Water modeling experiments and computer simulation for the predictions of defects of die castings are very important to produce high quality castings with less cost. The relation between the variable air vent system and the characteristics of the fluid flow in the die cavity is studied by using water modeling tests, which give ideas on reasonable designing of die cavity, vent arrangement and gating system. In order to test the water modeling, injection is done by using water containing NaCl. Flow behaviors in cavities are visualized by high speed camera and video tape recorder, and local filling time is measured with electrode sensors. Special attention is paid to the configuration of die cavity. Simulated results by computer are examined and compared with the results of water modeling experiments. There are close correlations between the simulated results and water modeling ones.

  • Cast AZ91 and extruded AM50 alloys were isothermally heated as solid/liquid coexistent temperatures, and semi-solid formed into sheets. Mold filling ability of semi-solid slurry with different liquid fractions was investigated in relation to process variables such as injection speed and mold temperature. Relatively uniform distribution of solid particle size and liquid fraction were observed throughout the semi-solid formed sheet. AZ91 alloy sheets were also manufactured by conventional die casting and compared with the semi-solid formed. It was found that the surface was more smooth and the dimensional accuracy was higher in case of the semi-solid formed.

  • To meet demand of big capacity and high speed rotation for washing machine, more stress from bending and twisting are complexly loaded onto the shaft supporting the horizontal drum, causing problems in fracture strength and fatigue life. Shafting system is mainly divided into flange and shaft. Shaft and flange connected by inserting shaft serration into flange on the process of die casting. When the system is operating, the gap is formed between serration and flange. But, Serration has various design factors and the optimal values can't be easily determined. Using a design of experiment (DOE) based on the FEM (Finite Element Method), this study was performed investigating the interaction effect between the various design factors as well as the main effect of the each design factor under bending, twist and vibration and proposed optimum design using box-behnken method among response surface derived from regression equation of simulation-based DOE.

  • A computer program has been developed for analyzing the two-dimensional unsteady conservation equations for transport phenomena in the ool region of direct rolling with semi-solid metal in order to describe the velocity and temperature, and the solidification process of the semi-solid metal. The energy equations of cooling roll is solved simultaneously with semi-solid metal in order consider heat transfer through the cooling roll. The FDM(finite difference method) and FEM(finite element method) are used in region of pool and roll, respsctively, to reduce computing time and to improve accuracy of calculation. In the present study, influence of solid fraction and casting speed are investigated in a point of view of strip formability with semi-solid metal.

  • Magnesium alloys are very attractive materials for appling to the development of autemobile parts or electric goods where light weight and higher stiffness. Due to higher ratio of strength vs. weight and stillness vs. weight, various magnesium alloys are well applied in much weight saving design applications though extrusion or die-casting process. However for the requisites of higher strength and weight savings, some new fabrication processes has been and it can be realized though the aid of injection modeling technology. To obtain the parametric data base for the injection molding process, various experiments were executed for AZ91D magnesium alloy. This paper propose the optimum condition of injection temperature, first and second pressure. the process was lined-up successfully often changing the injection unit. fluid pressure system from the conventional plastic injection molding process.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of coating pigments on the printability by investigating the pore structure of casting layer such as the number, size and distribution of pores and the pore rate. The coating structure was mainly determined by the interaction between pigment and binder. It means that the structure of pores was chiefly affected by the shape and size distribution of pigments and their packing rate. The physical properties of pore have close relationships with ink set-off, the speed of ink penetration and printing gloss. The results suggested that the rate and number of pores were greatly affected by the particle size distribution and shape of pigments. The rate of pore increased with the reduction of particle size distribution of pigments. Calcite was effective to improve greatly the printability of coated paper.

  • 일반적으로 사용하고 있는 유도전동기의 로터는 알루미늄 다이캐스팅 기술을 적용하는 것이 보통이다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 알루미늄에 비해 융점이 높은 동 다이캐스팅 기술을 적용하여 고속 고효율의 공작기계용으로 개발하였다. 30kW급 이상의 전기자동차용과는 달리 공작기계용은 3kW급과 10kW급으로 개발하였으며 슈퍼프리미엄급에 해당되는 성능과 30,000rpm에서 그 성능을 확인하였다.

In the early 1990s, satellite communication and broad casting services successfully expanded form C/Ku band to Ka band. The benefits of operation at Ka-band are greater bandwidth available to accommodate the increased demand for high-speed Information exchange. By the early years of the 21s1 century, millions of households worldwide with dual Ku / Ka-band dishes Satellite multimedia systems receive hundreds of TV channels, originating from around the world, and delivering entertainment, information and education. Many Ku-band satellites have been ordered, but few Ka-band systems are moving into production. So Ka-band systems are characterized that low-cost access to low and high peed, two-way voice, data, and video communications.
