In order to reduce the casualties of fishing boats, the author analyzed the fishing boat accident on the 412 cases in Korean maritime safety tribunal for the 2005~2009, and then studied the relation between the weather element and the accidents. According to this studies, the occurring ratio of sea casualty for fishing boat in fog weather was appeared 1 boat per 1.6 days. It means that the restricted visibility condition gives the most influence on the fishing boat accident. The casualties in winter season from November to next January occurred 139(33.7%), and small boats less than 50tons broke out more casualties with 68.4%. From this we can find that small fishing boats are very deeply affected on the sea weather condition. According to the boat types for fishing the casualty of jig boat was ranked first, and collision accident account for first with 77.9% for the types of casualties. As mentioned above, most sea casualties for small fishing boats were resulted from the human factors such as poor watch keeping in invisibility and the bad sea condition, it is necessary for navigation operators and the manager to take more attention to the meteorological factors.

The purpose of this study is to provide some basic data for the direction of nursing education and practice to prevent nursing malpractice as investgating perception of the nurse on the nursing malpractice and its case. Data were collected from 450 nurse working in four general hospitals which were located in Chonbuk province from November 9 to 21, 1998 through questionnare. The structured instruments developed by the reseacher were used for collecting data. The Results were as follows: 1) As for the cognition of the nursing malpractice case, the transfusion accident was 37.3%, the side-effects of KCL injection(19.3%), hymen rupture by uterus cancer test, the side-effects of aminophyllin injections on dyspnea patient and the others were 10% below. 2) With regard to the channel of the perception of the nursing malpractice case, mass-communication was taken first and followed through by neighbors, In-service education, school education, continuing education 3) As for the direct${\cdot}$indirect experience of the nursing malpractice case, transfusion accident was 51.3%, the fall of NPO patient after an operation 40.1%, the side-effect of KCL injection 32.5%, suicide of the psychiatric patient 32.5%, and the others were 30% below. 4) The possibility of nursing malpractice case was an average 2.57(${\pm}$0.91) and the highest was the fall of the NPO patient after an operation. 5) The perception on the responsibility of the nursing malpractice in its case was indicated as a joint-fault in ten nursing malpractice instances. As compared to the real decision, nurse's perception of the responsibility in the fall of the NPO patient after an operation, the side-effect of KCL injection, the tracheal edema of the patient who had a thyroid operation, the suicide of psychiatric patient, the hymen rupture by uterus cancer test accorded real decisions. But the other cases were different from the real decisions. These cases were perceived as ones of joint fault even in cases determined as Dr's single fault cases or those in which both doctor and nurse were declared free of fault. 6) Knowledge levels of the nursing malpractice, school education and In-service education were perceived as low but anxiety levels of the malpractice were high. 7) With regard to the countmeasure of the hospital after nursing malpractice, the rate answered as "the practice settled the accident temporarily and forced the person in charge to be punished" was highest. In conclusion, the level of the cognition of the clinical nurse on nursing malpractice cases was low. As nurses' perception on the responsibility of the nursing malpractice case was compared to the real decision, there was a difference in five cases out of the ten cases.
To prevent similar accidents with the basis of industrial accidents already occurred in industrial plants, it would be possible only after true causes are grasped. Unfortunately, however, most accident investigation carried out with the basis of legal regulation failed to grasp them so that similar accidents have been repeated without cease. This research aimed to find out differences between results from conventional accident investigation and those from human error analysis, and to draw out effective and practical counter-plans against industrial accidents occurred repeatedly in an autoglass manufacturing company. As for analysis, about 110 accident cases that occurred for last 7 years were collected, and by adopting the Comprehensive Human Error Analysis Technique developed by the previous researchers, not direct causes but basic fundamental causes that might induce workers to human errors were sought. In consequence, the result showed that facility factors or environmental factors such as improper layout, mistakes in engineering design, and malfunction of interlock system were authentic major accident causes as opposed to managerial factors such as personal carelessness or failure to wearing personal protective equipments, and/or improper work methods.
Purpose: The purpose of this report is to report the clinical application and safety of oriental treatment to pain and symptoms caused by traffic accident during early pregnancy. Methods: The three patients who suffered from several pain and symptoms caused by traffic accident during early pregnancy were treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy and physical treatment during their admission. And we followed up by phone call after their delivery. Results: Patients' pain and symptoms of this case were improved with oriental treatment during their admission. And serious side effects were not found on the patients and infants after treatment. Conclusion: This report shows that oriental treatment can be effective for those who suffering from several pain and symptoms caused by traffic accident during early pregnancy.
Twelve cases of traumatic diaphragmatic injuries were treated at the Chosun University Hospital from Feb. 1977 to Inn. 1980. The following results were obtained. l. Sex ratio incidence was 5:1, which male patients were predominant. 2. The age distribution at these cases, were ranged from 16 to 43 years of age, and average age was 27 years. 3. Left sided traumatic diaphragmatic injuries were far more common than right, which approximately incidence of 5:1 diaphragmatic injuries were due to blunt trauma [7 cases-traffic accident, 1 case-fall down], and stab wound [4 cases] in etiology. 4. Surgical repairs were done through only thoracotomy incision in blunt trauma cases, and through each thoracic and abdominal incision same time in 2 cases of stab wound. 5. 2 cases {16.7%] of blunt trauma were died before operation at emergency room, and no man died during or following operation. An overall mortality was 16.7%.
There are many accident causes related to even an accident. As well four(4) stepped causes of one accident at construction sites are analyzed in the study. First, eleven(11) cause factors are set up at each step such as policy level, management, indirect, direct level which are discussed and determined by field experts with 15year experience or more. Therefore, one direct cause occurred in construction site can be connected to the previous cause than in direct and management, and policy problem of previous management. These questionnaires results are analyzed with three different methods such as weighing level by Delphi technique, correlation analysis, critical pass method. Three different methods show their characteristic to see which subcontract work is more dangerous or not. Subcontract or at a construction site can be use the above three different cases as they need at their site in order to make more effective countermeasures.
Objectives: In South Korea, traffic accident victims can be treated under automobile insurance coverage. Korean medicine (KM) clinics have reported the largest number of automobile insurance fee claims among medical institutions. This study investigated the status of the KM automobile insurance system in a single KM clinic. Methods: We retrospectively surveyed the medical charts of 342 traffic accident patients treated at the Jisung KM clinic between January 2009 and June 2017. Results: Most of the patients were men and in their 30s. The most common method of locating the clinic was an internet search. The most common traffic accident type was collision between vehicles (83.63%), with 70.76% of patients visiting during the most acute phase. The major disease codes included S434, M4836, F072, S0600, and S3350. The most frequent treatment period was within 1 month of the accident, and most patients received 10 or fewer treatments. The mean treatment duration and number of treatments were 37.68 ± 45.11 days and 11.68 ± 10.63 treatments, respectively. The initial pain numerical rating scale (NRS), 7.32 ± 0.96, decreased to 3.57 ± 1.40 at the end of treatment, with a symptom improvement score of 1.87 ± 0.60. Regarding sex, age, disease duration, location at the time of the accident, presence of additional and psychological symptoms, and chuna, there were statistically significant differences in treatment duration and number of treatments. A higher number of treatments and the longer treatment duration was associated with a higher initial NRS, lower post-treatment NRS, and better improvement score. Since the introduction of traffic accident (TA) pharmacopuncture, the rate of use of a single type of pharmacopuncture increased; however, no significant differences in treatment duration and number, NRS before and after treatment, and improvement score were observed between treatment groups before and after TA pharmacopuncture. No adverse reactions were observed for any treatment. Conclusion: This study confirmed the previous findings of a high treatment effect of KM under automobile insurance. We also observed significant correlations based on a detailed medical status, which may explain the increasing use of KM in the automobile insurance system. Additional multi-center studies in different regions are needed.

Background: Increasing the establishment of integrated management systems (IMSs) is done with the purpose of leaving traditional management methods and replacing them with modern management methods. Thus, the present study sought to analyze the events and investigate the impact of IMS on health and safety performance indices in an Iranian combined cycle power plants. Methods: This case study was conducted in 2012 in all units of the Yazd Combined Cycle Power Plant on accident victims before and after the implementation of IMS. For data analysis and prediction of indices after the implementation of IMS, descriptive statistics and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Chi-square, linear regression, and Cubic tests were conducted using SPSS software. Results: The number of people employed in the power plant in an 8-year period (2004-2011) was 1,189, and 287 cases of work-related accidents were recorded. The highest accident frequency rate and accident severity rate were in 2004 (32.65) and 2008 (209), respectively. Safe T-score reached to below -3 during 2010-2011. In addition, given the regression results, the relation between all predictor variables with outcomes was significant (p < 0.05), except for the variable $X^1$ belonging to the accident severity rate index. Conclusion: The implementation of safety programs especially that of IMS and its annual audits has had a significant impact on reducing accident indices and improving safety within the study period. Accordingly, health and safety management systems are appropriate tools for reducing accident rate, and the use of regression models and accident indices is also a suitable way for monitoring safety performance.
The purpose of this study, the overall occupational safety and health status and identify the characteristics of the workers engaged in the field of quick services, substitute driving services, home delivery, caregiver, film and television arts, to take appropriate measures to prevent industrial accidents, profession and working environment, safety recognition and education, and safety activities, accident experience and job stress survey. Survey using a structured questionnaire, 846 people directly interview research. Safety consciousness level of himself or herself was "fair level" of 3.19 points and those of colleagues and the general public were evaluated to be low as 2.84 points and 2.54 points, respectively. During the last 12 months, 21.3% of total workers in 5 job categories have received an industrial safety health education for job-related accident or disease and 87.6% of workers engaged in caregiver have received an industrial safety health education for job-related accident or disease. The proportions for delivery worker, substitute driving service and quick service/cultural art were 26.4%, 12.1% and below 10%, respectively. Frequency of having received an education was 5.7 days on average and education hour was 9.2. Regarding cases of having experienced job-related accident or having been exposed to job-related disease over the past 1 year, 17.0% of total respondents have experienced accident and 21.3% have experienced job-related disease. Preventive education for occupational safety is required to be expanded and strengthened. Except caregiver, the proportion of having received an information and education for safety rules and hazardous factors. Safety education is urgently required in order to prevent and reduce accident. Safety and health guideline is required to be developed and disseminated in order to prevent accident in advance.
