Also the report mainly describes to relations between Five Tastes and BloodVessel-Organs of human body, to pathological change of a Five Tastes' one-sided diet or taking too much, and to various disease caused by that. And the section is called 'An Essay on Five Tastes', that Five Tastes of food and medicines could make human body either healthy or damaged so you should be careful. This report is divided into two chapter, the first chapter presents to specific diseases according to runnings of Five Tastes, the second chapter shows the pathological process how the human body would change and what kind of disease attacts human body as result of taking Five Tastes. So this section is important remarkably as a viewpoint of food and medicines.

The reconstruction of total lower eyelid defects is challenging to plastic surgeons due to the complicated anatomical structure of the eyelid. In addition, in the setting of cancer excision, the resection is deep, which requires some volume augmentation. However, in some cases, free tissue transfer is not applicable. We report a case of using a temporoparietal fascia flap (TPFF) for reconstructing a total lower eyelid defect. A large erythematous mass in an 83-year-old woman was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma by biopsy. After wide excision, the defect size was about 8×6 cm. The lower eyelid structures including the tarsus were removed. The TPFF including the superficial temporal artery was elevated and inset to the defect area. After the flap inset, a split-thickness skin graft with an acellular dermal matrix was performed on the fascial flap. There were no wound problems such as infection, dehiscence, or necrosis. After the patient's discharge, partial skin graft loss and ectropion occurred. The complications resolved spontaneously during the postoperative period. We report a case of reconstructing a lower eyelid defect using a TPFF. A TPFF can be applied to patients with large defects for whom free tissue transfer surgery is not appropriate as in this case.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of reporting for case reports published in Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry from year 2018 to 2021 compared with year 2013 to 2017 in order to recommend ways to improve the quality of case reports published in the future. Methods: To evaluate the quality of case reports identified by electronic searching in Oriental medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and by hand searching from archives on peer review system of Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry using CAse REport (CARE) guideline. The researcher assessed the quality of reporting based on the CARE guideline as 'Sufficient', 'Not-Sufficient', 'Not-Applicable', and 'Not-Reported' for case reports published from 2018 to 2021 in Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry. In addition, it was compared with previous case reports published from 2013 to 2017. Results: Finally, 17 case reports were included for the assessment. General quality of reporting for case reports published from year 2018 to 2021 was improved compared with that of previous case reports published in 2018. The maximum value (46.4%→60.7%, 14.3% increase), the minimum value (22.2%→32.1%, 9.9% increase), and the median value (39.3%→50.0%, 10.7% increase) of the report rate evaluated as 'Sufficient' were generally improved. The maximum value (53.6%→50.0%, 3.6% decrease), minimum value (25.9%→21.4%, 4.5% decrease), and median value (35.7%→32.1%, 3.6% decrease) of the report rate evaluated as 'Not-Sufficient', the maximum value of the report rate evaluated as 'Not-reported' (40.7%→25.9%, 14.8% decrease), the minimum value (14.7%→10.7% decrease), and the intermediate value (14.7% decrease) were also generally improved. Four items (8b, 8d, 10c, and 13) were evaluated as 'Not-Reported'. These items seem to be items that need urgent improvement along with 8c, which showed a significant decrease in reporting rate. Conclusions: There are needs to improve the quality of case reports in Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry by comparing case reports published from year 2013 to 2017 with case reports published from year 2018 to 2021. To improve the quality of case reporting, sufficient education at the academic level should be provided on thesis preparation methods. It is also necessary to develop a tool for evaluating the quality of case reporting that reflects characteristics of Korean Medicine.

Renal transplant recipients who received immunosuporessive agent are in high risk of development Kaposi's sarcoma. In Korea a few report of Kaposi's sarcoma has been pubilshed but any report of intrathoracic Kaposi's sarcoma provedn by open lung biopsy has not been pulbilshed until now. We report a case of intrathoracic Kaposi's sarcoma developed in a 25 year old Korean man, who had been operated renal transplantation due to end stage renal disease and received cyclosporine and prednisolone as immunosuppessive agent, without any other organ involvment and was proven by open lung biopsy. Although discontinuation of immunosuppressive agent, temporary symptomatic and radilolgic improvement were observed, he died 11 days later after open lung biopsy because of intractable resiratory failure.

A captive female capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) of unknown age discharged a bloody mass from the vaginal region. A histopathology examination revealed the mass to be a reproductive leiomyosarcoma, and an ovariohysterectomy was performed. The histopathology examination confirmed that the excised tissue was a uterine leiomyosarcoma. The purpose of this report is to describe clinical history and histopathological diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma in capybaras. This report is novel because it describes the first diagnosis of uterine leiomyosarcoma in a capybara. Since clinical data about capybaras are rare, this case report will help to diagnosis and treat reproductive diseases of this species.

Objectives: This case report aims to report the clinical effectiveness of the combination treatment of Korean medicine on a post-laparoscopic myomectomy patient's lower urinary symptoms (LUTS). Methods: The patient who diagnosed with uterine myoma had Laparoscopic myomectomy. After the operation, the patient complained of dysuria, nocturia, frequent urination, urgent urination and urinary retention. The patient received combination treatment of Korean medicine during 14 days of hospitalization. The treatment included Ohrim-san, acupuncture, moxibustion, and pharmacoacupuncture. The effects were evaluated through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Overactive Bladder Symptom Score (OABSS), Frequency-Volume chart, and 5-Level version of EuroQol-Five Dimension (EQ-5D-5L). Results: After the treatment, the clinical symptoms such as dysuria, nocturia, frequent urination, urgent urination, urinary retention were improved. Also, the quality of life was enhanced. Conclusions: This case report shows that the combination treatment of Korean Medicine with Ohrim-san may be effective for treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) after laparoscopic myomectomy.

Objective: The aim of this report is to report the effects of Danggwisaeyeok-tang (當歸四逆湯) on Raynaud phenomenon in a patient. Methods: A 57-year-old male diagnosed in 2016 with Raynaud's phenomenon complained of pain, digital ulceration, and discoloration of his fingers. He underwent acupuncture and electroacupuncture treatment, but the symptoms gradually worsened, so we administered herbal medicine, Danggwisaeyeok-tang (當歸四逆湯). Visual observation of the affected part, changes in subjective symptoms, and a verbal numerical rating scale (VNAS) were used to assess the clinical response. Results: After treatment with Danggwisaeyeok-tang, the patient reported improvement in his symptoms of cold sensation, ulceration, and sclerosis of his digits. Furthermore, the patient exhibited no general adverse effects. Conclusions: Danggwisaeyeok-tang (當歸四逆湯) significantly improved the patient's clinical symptoms. This case suggests that Danggwisaeyeok-tang (當歸四逆湯) may represent a good option for the treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon.

Simultaneous occurrence of medullary and papillary thyroid carcinomas in the same gland is very rare. In fact. there are only 18 cases of simultaneous occurrence of medullary and papillary thyroid carcinomas in the literature. We report a case of simultaneous medullary and papillary carcinoma of thyroid gland. A 67-year-old woman was diagnosed with medullary carcinoma of right lobe of thyroid gland and papillary carcinoma of left lobe of thyroid gland by fine needle aspiration cytology. Total thyroidectomy, anterior neck dissection, bilateral modified radical neck dissection and tracheotomy was undertaken. The tumor metastasized to regional lymph node and extrathyroidal muscle invasion of left papillary carcinoma was also revealed by pathological report. This report describes a case of thyroid carcinoma that demonstrated both medullary carcinoma and papillary components in the thyroid with lymph node metastasis.

A diabetic neuropathy patient was treated with Korean medicine for 2 weeks. In this case report, we report the efficacy of a complex treatment comprising various Korean medicine methods by evaluating the differences in pain scores. The patient reported improvement in both pain score and glucose index. Korean medicine could therefore be effective for the treatment and prevention of diabetic neuropathy.

Objectives: This report describes the case of a patient suffering tremor of the hands and feet, which was improved by Gamigyejak-tang-gamibang. Methods: For relieving symptoms, Korean medicine treatments, including herbal medicine, acupuncture, and moxibustion, were performed. To evaluate the effects of treatments, effective rate, visual analog scale, and patient's condition scale were used. Results: After treatment for 3 months, the clinical symptoms of the patient were improved. Effective rate increased from 10% to 95%. Both visual analog scale and patient's condition scale scores decreased from 8 to 1. Conclusions: This report suggests that Gamigyejak-tang-gamibang is effective for treating essential tremor.
