An Experimental visualization of the Pool Boiling Heat Transfer on the Inclined square surface (경사진 가열면에서의 수조비등에 대한 가시화 연구)

  • An experimental study was carried out to identify the various regimes of natural convective boiling and to determine the Critical Heat Flux(CHF) on a 70mm square surface which is inclined at $180^{\circ}$(upward), $90^{\circ}, \;45^{\circ}$. The heater block made of copper with cartridge heaters is submerged in a water tank with windows for visualization. As the heat flux increases from $100kW/m^2$ to $1.1MW/m^2$, the heat transfer regime migrates from the nucleate boiling to film boiling and results in a rapid heat up of the heater block. An explosive vapor generation on the heated surface, whose size and frequency are characterized by the heat flux, is visualized by using a digital camcorder with $512{\times}512$ pixel size at 30fps.

  • A simple and sensitive high performance liquid chromatographic method to quantitate ursodeoxycholic acid in crude drug pharmaceuticals was investigated. Ursodeoxycholic acid react with 2-bromoacetyl-6-methoxynaphthalene (Br-AMN) in the presence of triethylamine to form highly fluorescent derivative. The derivatization procedure was performed at 7$0^{\circ}C$ and completed within 30 min. The optimal wavelength of the fluorescence detector are λ$_{ex}$=300 nm and λ$_{em}$ = 460 nm. The LOD of the ursodeoxycholic acid was 25 ng/mι based on the S/N =3, and the LOQ was 80 ng/mι based on S/N = 10. Crude drug pharmaceuticals pretreated by solid phase extraction (Sep-pak $C_{18}$ cartridge) which were shown very good separation and recovery values for the compound.d.

  • Analytical method using capillary GC/ECD was developed to determine trace residues of chlofluazuron, 1-[3, 5-dichloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyloxy)phenyl]-3-(2, 6-difiuorobenzoyl), in meat, and applied to analyze the residues in domestic and imported meats. The analytical scheme developed does not require column chromatographic cleanup; chlorfiuazuron was extracted with diethyl ether and petroleum ether (50: 50), partitioned against acetonitrile, cleaned up with silica Sep-Pak cartridge, identified GC/ECD, and comfirmed by GC/MS. The mean recoveries of the pesticide in meat fortified with standard solution 0.1, 0.5, 0.1 mg/kg were ranged from 82 to 95%. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation were 0.001 and 0.005 mg/kg, respectively. Chlorfluazuron residues were not found in domestic samples, but found in imported Australian beef ranging from 0.02 to 0.17 mg/kg, detected by 18% among the samples.

Freezing and Melting Phenomena of Urea-water Solution for Diesel Vehicle SCR System (디젤차량 SCR 시스템용 요소수용액의 동결과 해동 현상)

  • Urea-SCR system, the selective catalytic reduction using urea as reducing agent, is a powerful technique to reduce nitrogen oxides(NOx) emitted from diesel engines. However, a tank of urea(32.5 wt%)-water solution can be frozen in low ambient temperature levels of below $-11^{\circ}C$. The purpose of this study is to understand freezing and melting phenomena of the urea-water solution, and its can be applied to get the urea-water solution from frozen it within 5 minutes after cold start. Factors considered were the type of heater and the urea tank shape. From the results, it was found that melting volume of cartridge heater B during 5 minutes of heating period was 83ml when supplying electric power of 150W. Horizontal heater B, which was put in the narrow bottom space of the tank T1, had fast melting characteristics.

  • This paper is about the carbon nanotube(CNT) samples called as CNT cartridges. The CNT cartridges are useful to make it better to fabricate the nano-sized devices like nanoprobes and nanotweezers through physical attachment. To make these cartridges, we need to align CNTs and to purify them from raw material. There is a variety of methods to align 1-dimensional nanostructures like nanotubes and nanowires. In this review, we mainly focused on the methods using electric field. And we will introduce various researches in relation to the CNT cartridges and the fabrication methods using the CNT cartridges and nanomanipulation techniques.

  • Developer roller of LBP(laser beam printer) cartridge made with magnetic substance and density of magnetic flux was decreased with the elapse of a year. Owing to this reason, quality of printing was decreased with decreasing of magnetic flux. This study investigated about the elapse of a year of magnetic substance and possible about usage of recycling production.

  • The surface defects of an aluminum tube for an OPC drum have been analyzed using a scanning microscopy(SEM) and an energy dispersive X-ray analyze.(EDX). The SEM/EDX system, which may provide good information on the surface defects and their distributions, provides an optical diameter of an impurity and a chemical composition. These are strongly related on the coated film thickness and quality of an OPC drum, which is a key element of a toner cartridge for a laser printer. The experimental results show that the local deformations, scratch wear, and flaws are produce the non-uniform coating layers, which may be removed by a manufacturing process of an aluminum tube. The major parameters on the coating quality of an OPC drum are the impurities of an aluminum tube such as silicon, oxygen, calcium, carbon, sulphur, chlorine, and others. These impurities may be removed by an ingot molding, extrusion and drawing, quality control, and packing processes with a strict manufacturing technology.
