Hydrazine 첨착 흡착제에 의한 담배 주류연 중 카보닐 화합물의 선택 흡착 특성 (Selective Adsorption Properties of Carbonyl Compounds in Cigarette Mainstream Smoke by Hydrazine Impregnated Adsorbent)

  • To use the filter materials for selective removal of carbonyl compounds in cigarette mainstream smoke, hydrazine such as 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and dansylhydraznie impregnated adsorbents were prepared with perchloric acid or phosphoric acid as a accelerator in hydrazone formation reaction. The change of morphology of adsorbents in various of impregnator were investigated by SEM. Impregnation amount caused by reaction time, acid type and impregnation reagent, and the adsorption properties of carbonyl compounds in cigarette mainstream smoke were investigated. Amounts of impregnation was increased as increasing reaction time. The removal amount for vapor phase carbonyl compounds by 2,4-DNPH impregnated adsorbent was higher than that of dansylhydrazine impregnated adsorbent. The selectivity of 2,4-DNPH impregnated polyacrylic type adsorbent was superior to those of other adsorbents. This results indicated that the 2,4-DNPH impregnated polyacrylic adsorbent was applicable to cigarette filter material because of its fast reactivity and porosity.

액정올리고머에 있는 카보닐그룹들의 동적순서에 대한 2차원 라만상관분광법 연구 (Determining the Dynamic Sequence of Carbonyl Groups in a Rod-Coil Liquid Crystalline Oligomer Using Two-Dimensional Raman Correlation Spectroscopy)

  • 12-4라는 액정올리고머가 액정이 되는 과정에서 일어나는 동력학을 2차원 라만상관분광법을 이용하여 연구하였다. 분광법의 결과로부터 에틸그룹 옆에 붙어있는 자유 카보닐 그룹이 먼저 움직이고, 수소결합을 이룬 카보닐 그룹이 나중에 움직인다는 것을 알아내었다. 반면에 바이페닐그룹사이에 존재하는 자유 카보닐 그룹은 좀처럼 움직이지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 샘플-샘플상관분광법의 결과로부터는 액정이 되는 온도 135$^{\circ}C$보다 훨씬 낮은 온도인 50$^{\circ}C$에서 이미 카보닐 그룹의 움직임이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Two Phase Reduction of Carbonyl Compounds with Sodium Borohydride

  • Possibility of two phase reduction of carbonyl compounds to the corresponding alcohols was studied. Thus the 0.5 M ether solutions of the representative carbonyl compounds were treated with alkaline stabilized sodium borohydride aqueous solution at room temperature. Butyraldehyde was reduced rapidly within one hr., whereas other aldehydes tested; heptaldehyde, benzaldehyde, and 1-naphthaldehyde were reduced in 6-12 hr. 2-Heptanone was reduced much slowly; 87% in 48 hr., however, acetophenone was reduced moderately; 92% in 12 hr. and cycloalkanones were reduced rapidly (cyclohexanone in 0.5 hr., and cyclopentanone in 3-6 hr.).

  • A simple and convenient method for the addition of TMSCN to carbonyl compounds is described. NbCl5 is found to possess a strong Lewis acid property to transform carbonyl compounds smoothly to the corresponding cyanosilylether in high yields (up to 99 %) in solvent- free conditions.

  • Aromatic aldehydes are efficiently self-condensed into $\alpha$-hydroxy carbonyl compounds by polystyrene-supported ammonium cyanide as an excellent organocatalyst in C-C bond formation. The reaction proceeds in water under mild reaction conditions. The polymeric catalyst can be easily separated by filtration and reused several times without appreciable loss of activity.

  • Ozonolysis reactions of cyclic olefins 1a-c and norbomene In in the presence of trifluoroactophenone 6 provided the corresponding cross-ozonides 7a-c and 7n. Further reactions of ozonides 7a-c and 7n with the independently prepared carbonyl oxide 11 gave diozonides of structure l0a-c and 10n. The ozonolysis of 1methylcyclopentene 12a and 1-methylcyclohexene 12b in the presence of trifluoroactophenone 6 provided exclusively ozonide 15 and 16 derived from capture of carbonyl oxide 13. All of the new ozonides have been isolated as pure substances and characterized by their 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra.

  • (Pyridine)(tetrahydroborato)zinc complex, $[Zn(BH_4)_2(py)]$, as a stable white solid, was prepared quantitatively by complexation of an equimolar amount of zinc tetrahydroborate and pyridine at room temperature. This reagent can easily reduce variety of carbonyl compounds such as aldehydes, ketones, acyloins, α-diketones and a, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols in good to excellent yields. Reduction reactions were performed in ether or THF at room temperature or under reflux conditions. In addition, the chemoselective reduction of aldehydes over ketones was accomplished successfully with this reducing agent.

An in vivo Study of Lipid Peroxidation in Rats under Conditions of Oxidative Stress and the Antioxidant Effects of Probucol

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate in vivo lipid peroxidation in rats under conditions of streptozotocin-induced oxidative stress and the antioxidant effects of probucol. In vivo lipid peroxidation was observed by measuring low molecular weight aldehydes and related carbonyl compounds in rat urine. Three groups of male Wistar rats weighing 165-190 g were used: normal (N), streptozotocin-induced oxidative stress (OS) and oxidative stress plus probucol treatment (P). following streptozotocin treatment of the rats, a variety of secondary lipid peroxidation products were increased. The levels of butanal, hexanal, hex-2-enal, kept-2-enal, octanal, non-2-enal, deca-2,4-dienal, 4-hydroxyhex-2-enal, 4-hydroxyno n-2-enal, malondi aldehyde(MDA), and unknown carbonyl compounds were significantly increased in the oxidative stress group compared to the control group. Treatment with probucol resulted in significant decreases in buoal, hexanal, hex-2-enal, octanal, deca-2,4-dienal, 4-hydroxyhex-2-enal, MDA and unknown carbonyl compounds. Hept-2-enal, hepta-2,4-dienal and non-2-enal appeared to have a tendency to decrease due to pobucol treatment.

  • A polishing method using magnetorheological (MR) fluid has been developed as a new precision technique to obtain a fine surface. The process uses a MR fluid that consists of magnetic carbonyl iron (CI) particles, nonmagnetic polishing abrasives, water and stabilizers. But the CI particles in MR fluids cause a severe corrosion problem. When coated with Xanthan gum, the CI particles showed long-term stability in corrosive aqueous environment. The surface roughness obtained from the MR polishing process was evaluated. A series of experiments were performed on fused silica glass using prepared slurries and various process conditions, including different polishing times. Outstanding surface roughness of Ra=2.27nm was obtained on the fused silica glass. The present polishing method could be used to produce ultra-precision micro parts.

  • 치환 Oxiranes의 C-C결합 절단에 의한 알켄의 고리첨가 반응의 반응성을 규명하기 위하여 치환기 -CN, $-OCH_3,\;-SCH_3$에 대하여 (1) 치환기가 C-C고리열림 반응에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지 (2)치환기가 전이상태와 중간체의 구조에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지 (3)carbonyl yildes의 이성화장벽에 어떤 기여를 하고 있는지 (4)고리첨가 반응의 반응성에 치환기가 어떤 효과를 미치는지를 MNDO-SCF-MO법 계산에 의하여 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 모든 분자의 기하학적 구조를 optimize하였으며 반응경로, 전이상태, 중간체의 계산을 실시하여 반응성과 치환기 효과를 논하였다.
