This study aimed to collect the carbon dioxide generated as a by-product from petrochemicals and liquor factories and use it in a crop breeding greenhouse. This was applied mainly to the storage of dry ice and the supply of carbon dioxide to achieve this target. Dry ice has a strong cooling effect because CO2 becomes a solid or gas at temperatures and pressures below the triple point, and the solid sublimes at -78.5℃ and atmospheric pressure. The consumption of dry ice according to temperature was 0.983kg/day, 2.358kg/day, 5.102kg/day, and 7.035kg/day when the temperature was 5℃, 10℃, 15℃, and 20℃, respectively, which corresponded to 1,102ppm, 1,481ppm, 1,677ppm, and 1,855ppm. Dry ice consumption in the test greenhouse decreased by approximately 0.9kg/h, and the CO2 concentration in the greenhouse at 9 a.m., before supplying dry ice increased to 517ppm, 1,519ppm at 10 a.m., 1,651ppm at 11 a.m., and 1,651ppm at 12 p.m., before maintaining this level of activity. Overall, this study attempted to contribute to increasing farm income by deriving the supply conditions through an expansion of the supply of carbon dioxide gas for crops.
Experimental data of phase equilibrium is reported for caprolactone acrylate in supercritical carbon dioxide. Bubble-point data was measured by synthetic method at temperatures ranging from (313.2 to 393.2) K and pressures up to 55.93 MPa. In this research, the solubility of carbon dioxide for the (carbon dioxide + caprolactone acrylate) system decreases as temperature increases at a constant pressure. The (carbon dioxide + caprolactone acrylate) system exhibits type-I phase behavior. The experimental result for the (carbon dioxide + caprolactone acrylate) system was correlated with Peng-Robinson equation of state using mixing rule. The critical property of caprolactone acrylate was predicted with the Joback and Lyderson method.
The reaction of carbon dioxide with the amine-based absorbents which have various substituents in the molecule was described. In the case of MEA which is a representative primary amine, the absorption reaction was proceeded very fast while the regeneration reaction was took place slowly due to the strong bond strength between the absorbent and carbon dioxide. The more substituents on N atom of the absorbent, the slower the absorption reaction between carbon dioxide and the absorbent, which in turn causes faster the regeneration rate from the reaction intermediate, carbamate.

The South Korean Ministry of the Environment has revised the laws relating to the management of interior air quality for multiple use facilities, and recommends maintaining carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) concentration in passenger vehicles below 1000 ppm during operation in urban areas of large cities. However, the interior $CO_2$ concentration of passenger vehicles can rapidly increase and exceed 5000 ppm within 30 min, as observed when two passengers are traveling in urban areas of the South Korean city of Jeonju with the air conditioner blower turned off and the actuator mode set to internal circulation mode. With four passengers, $CO_2$ concentration can reach up to 6000 ppm within 10 min. To counter this, when the actuator is set to external mode, $CO_2$ concentration can be maintained below 1000 ppm, even after a long period of running time. As part of the air conditioning system, alkali-treated activated carbon fiber filters are considered to be far superior to the commercial non-woven filters or combination filters currently commonly in use.
The electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) to value-added products is a remarkable approach for mitigating CO2 emissions caused by the excessive consumption of fossil fuels. However, achieving the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 still faces some bottlenecks, including the large overpotential, undesirable selectivity, and slow electron transfer kinetics. Various electrocatalysts including metals, metals oxides, alloys, and single-atom catalysts have been widely researched to suppress HER performance, reduce overpotential and enhance the selectivity of CO2RR over the last few decades. Among them, single-atom catalysts (SACs) have attracted a great deal of interest because of their advantages over traditional electrocatalysts such as maximized atomic utilization, tunable coordination environments and unique electronic structures. Herein, we discuss the mechanisms involved in the electroreduction of CO2 to carbon monoxide (CO) and the fundamental concepts related to electrocatalysis. Then, we present an overview of recent advances in the design of high-performance noble and non-noble singleatom catalysts for the CO2 reduction reaction.

This study was conducted to find out the efficiency of heating initiative temperature and carbon dioxide fertilization in summer squash (Cucurbita moschata D.). The heating start temperature experiment was performed at 9℃, 12℃, and 15℃ using an electric heater and operated when the temperature was lower than the target temperature. The CO2 fertilization concentration experiment was performed from 7 to 12 with the control, 500 µmol·mol-1, and 800 µmol·mol-1 using liquefied carbon dioxide. Investigation items were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, dry weight, also economic analysis was conducted by surveying only fruits exceeding 100 g. Photosynthesis was measured for the upper leaf position to calculate the saturation point according to the control. The photo saturation point was 587 µmol·m-2·s-1, and the CO2 saturation point was 702 µmol·mol-1. Amax values by carbon dioxide were 13.4, 17.8, 17.2, 19.6, and 17.5 µmolCO2·m-2·s-1 in the order of 9℃, 12℃, 15℃, 500 µmol·mol-1, and 800 µmol·mol-1. In the temperature experiment, 9℃ in growth did not grow normally and no fruiting was performed. 12℃ and 15℃ were higher than 9℃, but there was no significant difference in growth and production. The CO2 fertilization experiment showed no significant difference between the treatment in growth, but the productivity of 800 µmol·mol-1 was the best. Comprehensively, the heating initiative temperature of 15℃ was good for crop growth and production, but there is no significant difference from 12℃, so it is good to set the heating start temperature to 12℃ economically, and maintaining of 800 µmol·mol-1 is effective in increasing production.
Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo simulations were performed to calculate the vapor-liquid coexistence properties for the binary mixtures $CO_2/CH_3OH$, $CO_2/C_2H_5OH$, and $CO_2/CH_3CH_2CH_2OH.$ The configurational bias Monte Carlo method was used in the simulation of alcohol. Density of the mixture, composition of the mixture, the pressure-composition diagram, and the radial distribution function were calculated at vapor-liquid equilibrium. The composition and the density of both vapor and liquid from simulation agree considerably well with the experimental values over a wide range of pressures. The radial distribution functions in the liquid mixtures show that $CO_2$ molecules interact more stogly with methyl group than methylene group of $C_2H_5OH$ and $CH_3CH_2CH_2OH$ due to the steric effects of the alcohol molecules.

In the cement industry, various research initiatives are underway to achieve carbon neutrality. Mineral carbonation is a technology that converts carbon dioxide into minerals for storage, and CO2 reactive hardening cement is a type of cement that incorporates mineral carbonation technology. In this study, we aimed to manufacture CO2 reactive hardening cement for reducing carbon emissions in the cement industry by utilizing waste concrete powder generated in the construction sector.
The earlier studies have analyzed theoretical links between nuclear energy and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions concerning territorial (or production-based) emissions. Here using the latest available dataset, this study explores the impacts of nuclear energy on production-based and consumption-based CO2 emission in the era of globalization for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. The Driscoll-Kraay regression method reveals that nuclear energy is beneficial for the reduction of production-based CO2 emissions. However, it is revealed that nuclear energy does not reduce consumption-based CO2 emissions that are traded internationally and hence not comprised in conventional production-based emissions (territory) inventories. Globalization tends to reduce both production-based and demand-based carbon emissions. Finally, Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) is validated for both kinds of CO2 emissions. The findings may deliver practical policy implications related to nuclear energy and CO2 emissions for selected countries.
Underground carbon dioxide (CO2) storage emerges as a pivotal strategy for mitigating atmospheric CO2 emissions and addressing global warming concerns. This study investigates techniques to optimize storage efficiency in aquifers, which stand out for their superior capacity compared to other geological layers. The focus is on the application of nonionic and anionic surfactants to enhance CO2 storage efficiency within confined spaces. A specialized micromodel facilitating fluid flow observation was employed for the evaluation. Experimental results revealed a noteworthy minimum 40% increase in storage efficiency at the lowest injection rate when utilizing nonionic and anionic surfactants, in comparison to pure water injection. Interestingly, no significant variations in storage efficiency were observed based on the ionicity and concentration of the surfactants under investigation. These findings have implications for guiding the selection and concentration determination of surfactants in future underground CO2 storage endeavors.
