자동차 조향장치용 TAS module을 위한 Multi-track Encoder기반 신호처리보드의 구현 (Preliminary study of Angle sensor module for Vehicle Steering System Based on Multi-track Encoder)

  • As 4.0 industry has been developed, research on a self-driving car technology and related parts of an automobile has been highly investigated recently. Particularly, a TAS(Torque Angle Sensor) module on steering wheel system has been considered as a key technology because of its precise angle, torque detection and high speed signal processing. The environmental assessment is generally required on the TAS module to examine high resolution of angle/torque detection. In the case of existing TAS module, angle detection errors has been occurred by back-lash on main and sub gear in addition to complicated structure caused by gears. In this paper, a structure of the TAS module, which minimizes the numbers of components and angle detection errors on the module compared with the existing TAS module, for vehicle steering system based on a Multi-track Encoder has been proposed. Also, angle detection signal processing board, and key technology of the TAS module were fabricated and evaluated. As a result of the experiments, we confirmed an excellent performance of the fabricated signal processing board for angle detection and an applicability of the fabricated angle detection board on the TAS module of vehicles by the environmental assessment an automobile standard.

자동차 글라스 조립 자동화설비를 위한 FPGA기반 실러 도포검사 비전시스템 개발 (Development of an FPGA-based Sealer Coating Inspection Vision System for Automotive Glass Assembly Automation Equipment)

  • In this study, an FPGA-based sealer inspection system was developed to inspect the sealer applied to install vehicle glass on a car body. The sealer is a liquid or paste-like material that promotes adhesion such as sealing and waterproofing for mounting and assembling vehicle parts to a car body. The system installed in the existing vehicle design parts line does not detect the sealer in the glass rotation section and takes a long time to process. This study developed a line laser camera sensor and an FPGA vision signal processing module to solve this problem. The line laser camera sensor was developed such that the resolution and speed of the camera for data acquisition could be modified according to the irradiation angle of the laser. Furthermore, it was developed considering the mountability of the entire system to prevent interference with the sealer ejection machine. In addition, a vision signal processing module was developed using the Zynq-7020 FPGA chip to improve the processing speed of the algorithm that converted the profile to the sealer shape image acquired from a 2D camera and calculated the width and height of the sealer using the converted profile. The performance of the developed sealer application inspection system was verified by establishing an experimental environment identical to that of an actual automobile production line. The experimental results confirmed the performance of the sealer application inspection at a level that satisfied the requirements of automotive field standards.

전동 워터펌프의 열유동 특성 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thermo-flow Characteristics Analysis of Electric Water Pump)

  • An electric water pump for engine cooling system has an advantage which particularly in the cold start, the use of the electric water pump saves fuel and leads to a corresponding reduction in emissions. The canned type electric water pump without mechanical sealing elements was selected to meet the requirements for operational reliability and life. However, the electric water pump for internal combustion engine generates much more heat loss than for hybrid electric vehicle since it is operated by the electric power of high current and low voltage. In this study, the fluid flow and thermal characteristics of the canned type electric water pump as an inverter integrated water pump has been investigated under the effects of heat generation. The analysis conditions such as outdoor air temperature of $125^{\circ}C$, water pump speed of 6000 rpm, coolant temperature of $106^{\circ}C$ and coolant flow rate of 120 L/min was used as a standard condition. Therefore, flow fields and temperature distribution inside the water pump were obtained. Also, we checked the feasibility of the canned type for the electric water pump in comparison with the mechanical seal type.

LP차량의 주행거리에 따른 스템시일의 누설특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Leakage Characteristics of Stem Seals Depending on the Driving Distance of the LPG Vehicle)

  • 본 논문은 LPG 차량의 주행거리에 따른 스템시일의 오일누설 특성에 대한 실험적 연구결과를 제공하고자 한다. 캠축의 속도와 오일의 온도가 증가하여도 40,000 km 이하의 주행거리를 갖는 스템시일에서는 엔진오일의 누설에 큰 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 주행거리가 50,000 km 이상 100,000 km 정도에서 사용한 스템시일의 경우는 스템시일의 밀봉성에 영향을 미쳐 누설이 급격하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 포핏밸브와 스템시일 사이의 미끄럼마찰 접촉면을 따라서 오일이 누설되기 때문에 발생한 것이다. 실험결과에 의하면, 현재 LP차량에서 사용하고 있는 스템시일은 주행거리가 $50,000{\sim}60,000\;km$ 정도에서 교환하는 것이 누유특성을 고려하면 바람직하다. 따라서 포핏밸브의 누유를 차단하기 위해 사용하고 있는 스템시일은 보다 향상된 내구성과 수명연장을 위해 재설계되어야 한다.
