  • We have constructed a car-borne magnetic exploration system, in which a car drags a non-magnetic cart on which a magnetometer is installed. In the total magnetic field measured as a vectorial sum in this system, are included the magnetic field generated by the car itself. This magnetic field, doing the role of a magnetic noise, should be eliminated. For this purpose, we have set up a measurement condition to get the same effect as if we have put the car in one point and thereafter measured the magnetic field around it. In this case, if there is any magnetically anomalous body in the area, we can consider all the remaining magnetic field to have been generated by the car itself, once the geomagnetic field eliminated. We tried to invert the magnetic field considered to have been generated by the car and succeeded to derive the magnetic moment and the direction of the induced and remanent magnetic field of the car respectively. Once the magnetic moment and the direction of the induced and remanent magnetic field have been calculated, the magnetic field generated by them in specific points can be directly and analytically calculated. This result can be used in the future to eliminate the magnetic field generated by the car itself doing the role of a magnetic noise during the procedure of reduction of the measured magnetic exploration data by the car-borne magnetic exploration system.

  • A blank test was done to calculatee the car itself's magnetic effect as noise and to eliminate it from the data set of total magnetic intensity(=magnetic flux density) exploration in a car-borne magnetic exploration system. To calculate the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself, we have installed the magnetometer on a fixed point and measured the magnetic intensity letting the car move around the magnetometer, and we have changed the data set into an analogous data set as if acquired in the condition that we have parked the car on the same fixed point and measured the magnetic intensity moving the magnetometer around the magnetometer. Through an inversion with the later data set as input, we have calculated the magnetic center and the magnetic moments of the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself with the two centers coincided because of some barriers of the inversion algorithm that we have used in this study. On the other hand, we have extracted the magnetic anomaly by reducing i. e. vectorially eliminating the induced magnetic intensity(= magnetization) and the remanent magnetic intensity(= magnetization) of the car itself calculated forwardly, from the magnetic exploration data set acquired by the car-borne magnetic exploration system.

  • This study selected car-related mobile apps for app developers suffering from low revenue and classified car apps assisting users in driving or managing a car. A total of 697 car apps were classified into eight categories. Most apps are in four categories: car news & information (28%), locating service (23%), car rental service (15%), safe/efficient driving service (12%). The remaining categories are buying & selling, driver's communication, maintenance management, and expenses monitoring. Many apps are simple and too similar in their main functions. Only a few apps are designed to be more comprehensive and have functions in two or more categories. For the practicality of the categorization scheme, this study checked the inter-rater reliability in two tests and got 0.886 and 0.828. The result from this study suggests functions that are not implemented yet or need to be combined. Future research will focus on identifying promising car apps or designing multi-functional car apps.

  • Considerable fuel in cars is consumed by air resistance. The flow resistance against the air stream was analyzed by flow analysis near the passenger car body. In this study, the models were used were cars available on the real market. Two velocities entered into inlet plane of flow were 80 km/h and 110 km/h using the flow analysis of CFX. As the study method, the velocity of air flow near the car and the pressure on the rear part of car body were investigated at the driving of car. The shapes of the study models were models 1 and 2, and the flow streams were four cases of 1, 2, 3, and 4. In case 1 among the four cases, the maximum pressure ($1.017{\times}10^5Pa$) on the rear part was highest and the maximum velocity (43.81m/s) of air flow near car body was fastest. The air drag force in the case of high speed (110km/h) driving a passenger car was higher than that of a normal driving speed (80km/h). The drag force at wide section area of the car body becomes higher than the narrow section area. The shape of the car body can be effectively designed to reduce the air resistance using the study results of this analysis.

  • This study is an online survey for consumers in the metropolitan areas of Japan and Korea, which are advanced countries in Asia, and the maturity of the automobile market. The purpose of this study is to compare the results of Korea and Japan. As a result of this study, we analyzed the differences between the consumer characteristics and the optional attribute factors of low-carbon automobiles of Korea. There was a difference. It was found that the factors of low carbon car selection attribute differed with age, and that stability was more important when selecting low carbon car as income level increased. In Japan, there were no differences in the selection attribute factors of low carbon cars by gender, age and income. In addition, there is no difference in the relationship between the future purchase timings of low-carbon car types in both Korea and Japan. Implications of this study Korea has a meaningful result that Korea tends to select low-carbon automobiles with an emphasis on economic aspects and ages, and that safety tends to emphasize safety of low-carbon automobiles according to income levels. In the case of low carbon car, there was a tendency to select a low carbon car without any difference in consumer characteristics. The relationship between the expected purchase time according to the type of low carbon car and the Korean car show that the preferred car within the next 10 years among the low carbon car types is electric car and Japan prefers hybrid car.

  • Currently, sharp increase of car is on the rise as a serious social problem due to loss of lives from car accident and environmental pollution. There is a study on ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) to seek coping measures. As for the commercialization of ITS, we aim for occupancy of world market through ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle) related system development and international standardization. However, the domestic environment is very insufficient. Core factor technologies of ITS are Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, Forward Collision Warning System, AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) system etc. These technologies are applied to cars to support driving of a driver. AEB system is stop the car automatically based on the result decided by the relative speed and distance with obstacle detected through sensor attached on car rather than depending on the driver. The purpose of AEB system is to measure the distance and speed of car and to prevent accident. Thus, AEB will be a system useful for prevention of accident by decreasing car accident along with the development of automobile technology. This study suggests a scenario to suggest a test evaluation method that accords with domestic environment and active response of international standard regarding the test evaluation method of AEB. Also, by setting the goal with function for distance, it suggests theoretic model according to the result. And the study aims to verify the theoretic evaluation standard per proposed scenario using car which is installed with AEB device through field car driving test on test road. It will be useful to utilize the suggested scenario and theoretical model when conducting AEB test evaluation.

  • This study aims to propose the location selection method of car-sharing services in Daejeon Metropolitan city. In order to select locations for car-sharing, Daejoen area was divided in $500m{\times}500m$ cell size using GIS Arc/Info 10, and input factors which may affect car-sharing service were determined, and then each input factor was standardized for analysis. The weight for each input factor was determined through experts' survey and index of goodness of fit was estimated in each cell ($500m{\times}500m$ size) using AHP method. Also, This study proposed the method to select 30 service facility location using Location-allocation Model in Network Analysis module. The proposed method for the location selection of car-sharing service in this study can be used for preliminary data for initial car-sharing introduction. Henceforward, appropriate demand forecasting and economic evaluation for the location selection of car-sharing service are needed for the further study.

  • Neuroinflammation is an important process underlying a wide variety of neurodegenerative diseases. Carvacrol (CAR) is a phenolic monoterpene commonly used as a food additive due to its antibacterial properties, but it has also been shown to exhibit strong antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects. Here, we sought to investigate the effects of CAR on inflammation in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, as well as the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects. In our study, lipopolysaccharide was injected into the lateral ventricle of rats to induce memory impairment and neuroinflammation. Daily administration of CAR (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg) for 21 days improved recognition, discrimination, and memory impairments relative to untreated controls. CAR administration significantly attenuated expression of several inflammatory factors in the brain, including interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, and cyclooxygenase-2. In addition, CAR significantly increased expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) mRNA, and decreased expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) mRNA. Taken together, these results show that CAR can improve memory impairment caused by neuroinflammation. This cognitive enhancement is due to the anti-inflammatory effects of CAR medicated by its regulation of BDNF and TLR4. Thus, CAR has significant potential as an inhibitor of memory degeneration in neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Fundamental Electric vehicle charge system is urgently needed for commercialization of electric vehicles. Car parking building is equipped with PV system for providing electricity to charge electric vehicles, because it must be charged at least for 30 minutes. In parking lots abroad, electric car charging stations are installed to charge electric cars by the electricity gained from PV systems which are also installed. Also, charge infrastructure construction plans and electric car charging facility support standards are being set and proposed, but there are no cases like abroad of electric car charging stations using PV systems and only electric car charging stations using ordinary electricity are being proposed. Therefore, this paper prepares establishment of domestic electric car charging networks. By researching inside outside solar parking lots and cases of abroad PV system electric car charging stations, and by analysis and comparative analysis of structural systems, structural material, and etc., many cantilever structure and small-size types were installed in PV system electric car charging stations.

  • This study deals with the method of determining the tip-over stability of a truck mounted on a high place operation car that is frequently used to carry out high-altitude work. Multibody Dynamics Program and Zero Moment Point (ZMP) theory are used to include dynamic effects during the car's high place operation. Through a combination of the Multibody Dynamics Program and ZMP, understanding the dynamic effects of the car's operating parts and building a detailed tip-over model of the car permitted a more precise prediction of the car's tipping-over behavior. It is also expected to help reduce the car's development time due to the time-effective simulation and provide safer work levels for the operating guide (in terms of working radius and lifting capability) with the dynamics effects.
