Comparative Analysis on the Cremation Rate of the Capital Area and the Increase Rate of Cremated Bodies Using the Online Cremation Reservation Service in Funeral Information System

  • In the study, we show the annual average increasing rate of death bodies in the capital area was 2.1% while the annual average increasing rate of cremated bodies was 4.5%. As the annual average increasing rate of cremated bodies was about 2.1 times higher than the annual average increasing rate of death bodies, the increase rate of cremated bodies contrast to the increase rate of death bodies was relatively high. Also, the cremation rate of the capital area was increased by 9.5% from 80.3% in 2011 to 89.8% in 2017 while the increase rate of cremated bodies was 27.2%(N=21,694 people) from 79,866 people in 2011 to 101,560 people in 2017. Thus, the increase rate of cremated bodies contrast to the increase of cremation rate of the capital area was relatively very high. On the basis of 2017, the utilization rate of public cremation facilities in by capital area was 94.5% in Incheon Metropolitan City, 91.1% in Seoul Metropolitan City, and 20.9% in Gyeonggi-do, which showed huge differences in the utilization rate of public cremation facilities in the jurisdiction area of by capital area. Focusing on the actual state shown in the results of this study above, it would be necessary for Seoul Metropolitan City to carry forward a supply & demand policy of cremation facilities through the extension of cremation furnaces, for Gyeonggi-do to carry forward a policy to build the public cremation facilities focusing on the basic local government in the jurisdiction area, and for Incheon Metropolitan City to enforce the measures for the joint use of cremation facilities with the basic local government in the adjacent Gyeonggi-do jurisdiction area in order to improve the efficiency of the operation of cremation facilities.

  • This paper is to clarify on the Characteristics of the Layout of the Hue, the Capital of the Nguyen Dynasty in Vietnam, based on a close study of historical records. The results of this study are as follows: Hue was organized according to the traditional capital system of China, whereas the city wall was built Western-style called Vauban. It can be said that the construction of Hue was the result of reflecting both the regional situation that was under the influence of the Chinese culture and the situation of the time that required military facilities based on new technologies. The Axis of Hue oriented to southeast and the location of the government facilities related to way of construction, using the existing facilities. Some facilities that must be located within the imperial city were built its outside. Because facilities for ancestor worship was more important. The facilities for ancestor worship was able to get confirmation that Nguyen Dynasty was successor of ruler who dominated the country.

Restoration of Iksan Imperial Capital City Structure and Construction Model in Late Baekje from the Point of Ancient Capital City Planning (백제 후기 익산도성 조영계획모델에 대한 도성계획사적 해석)

  • This study aims to draw out planning principles and structure of Iksan imperial capital city in late Baekje, especially in view of the relationship among imperial capital city planning area, skeletal axis and the location of royal castle. With site survey and analysis of historical records, old maps, topographical maps, archeological excavation data, land registration map of 1915, some significant inferences were drawn out. Firstly from the point of topological conditions, the contiguous line of a stratum from Mireuk mountain(彌勒山) to Wangkung-ri castle(王宮里遺蹟) and two waterways made a topological axis of Iksan Imperial capital city. Secondly district of Iksan imperial capital city can be deduced to the inner area north to Kummado soil wall(金馬都土城), south to the confluence of Iksan river(益山川) and Busang river(扶桑川), west to Okum mountain fortress(五金山城) and Galjeon river(葛田川), east to line near to eastern wall of Jesuksa temple(帝釋寺). Iksan ssang-reung(益山雙陵) was located outside western boundary line of capital city. Thirdly axis from Wangkung-ri castle to northern Kummado soil wall made a skeletal axis of city structure. It got through northern lowland along Buk river(北川) between Yonghwa(龍華山) and Mireuk mountain. Fourthly the location of royal palace can be deduced to the north part of the city around Kumma town area along the planning principle of northern royal palace.

A Study on the Container Tax Collection of Busan City (부산시의 컨테이너세 징수에 관한 연구)

  • Busan Port which is the representative social overhead capital facilities for international trade of goods has been the driving force for economic development in Korea. Therefore, the central government should play the major role in building a rear road to Busan Port in order that it may function as a mojor port of Northeastern Asia through the systemization of mutual assistance among connected facilities, completely equipped with port-related facilities befitting to the principal port of imports and exports. In this study, the validity of container tax is being examined, analyzing container tax which Is considered as an obstacle to the development of Busan Port and its purpose, and grasping the present conditions by the realistic speculation on container tax issues and its abolition. First, the port rear road as a social overhead capital facilities, which connects port and expressway, should be considered as part of port, and port is social overhead capital invested by government. Second, the susan City imposes on container tax. As a result, a shipper and a shipping company are paying a double charge by paying container tax with port dues. Third, someone argues that port rear road is constructed as container truck generates much traffic, but it is unreasonable to conclude that container truck is seed of traffic jam because according to traffic survey of Busan City, container truck occupies only 1.45% of total traffic Forth, it has bad influence upon the competitiveness of Busan Port as Northeastern logistics base, as other ports who are competing with Busan Port like Singapore.   • The research described in this report was conducted to find out how elements of the natural environment contributed to the formation of Chang'an, how its water system reinforced its status as the capital city, and what role it took for its urban function based on studies of the canal constructions. During the period of Sui and Tang, Chang'an built a sophisticated water system using Qu(渠), the irrigation facilities. In the water system, hills are called Yuan(原), and rivers with the proper environment to be developed plan into urban infrastructure facilities for irrigation water, urban living water, the composition of garden-based facility, reservoirs, and others. They improve agricultural productivity and, consequently, increase the city's competitiveness as well as contributing to the urban infrastructure, serving as a convenient source and ensuring the quality of life was abundant. So, the urban effects of the water system have raised the capital's status. With the contribution of its pragmatic water system, Chang'an not only performed its urban function brilliantly, but also established itself more firmly as a capital city.

  • Now, the population and economical power is deeply concentrated to Seoul-metropolitan region, therefoere the provinces is so lagging behind and the country cannot get balance development. And, like metropolitan region, the more outer the living area of local wide-area city is spreading, the more serious wide-region transportation problems are. But the railroads near wide-area city fun seldom commuter train, so they cannot absorb the transportation demand of wide-area city metropolitan region. To solve above transportation problem, local wide- area cities try to make a subway or a light rail transit. But it is so difficult because the limit of public finance and original small capacity of light rail. In the paper, I propose 'Local city wide-area electric railways' system of the consortium of 'Local wide-city and province transportation union', Korean National Railroad (KNR) and local capital. A 'Local wide-city and province transportation union' operates commuter railways directly using the facilities of KNR, and local capital invests to the stations of above railways system. Therefore the commuter railway system around local wide-city region will be constructed quickly and the stations will be the strong point of local development and investment.

  • Ascertaining the actual growth rate of the population is an issue that has generated a lot of arguments amongst various scholars in the process of determining the actual census count. As such, this has had a pronounced effect in the determination of the actual growth rates for different urban populations in the country. But the effect centres much when it comes to accurately determining the major components or the factors contributing to the rapid growth of urban populations. The problem of rapid population growth centres much on its effects on the available basic social services and amenities provided for the people in these areas. Factors such as levels of medical knowledge and services, nutrition, quantity and quality of housing etc. to some extent influence the quality and duration of lives of the people. As such, their importance cannot be overemphasized when dealing with the issue of population growth. The study aims to examine the rate of population growth in the Federal Capital City, Abuja with respect to the available public provision of basic social services among other objectives. The findings from the data obtained from the Population Survey conducted in the city in 1985 show that the health care facilities available in the capital city are grossly inadequate to serve the entire inhabitants of the city. Moreso, the volume of in-migration into the city also compounds the health problems facing the city. The conclusion is that there is need for more resources to be allocated to the health sector to guarantee adequate and functional health care services in the city.

Analysis on the Actual Status of Users of Public Nature Burial and Cremated Bodies Using the Public Cremation Facilities in the Capital Area through the Funeral Information System and the Activation Plan of the Public Nature Burial

  • In the study, we suggest that the activation plan of the public nature burial in the capital area through funeral information system as follows. First, according to the report on the social survey announced by the National Statistical Office in December 2017, the Korean people's preference of nature burial was 43.6% while the actual utilization rate of national nature burial in 2017 was only 8.8%, which showed a huge gap between preference and utilization rate of nature burial. Therefore, through the activities to improve the awareness of nature burial by performing the national promotion and education, and also the investment for the expansion or improvement of nature burial facilities in the level of central government and local government, the preference of nature burial should be led to the actual demand. Second, during the period from 2011 to 2018, the utilization rate of public nature burial in the capital area was annually increased by average 26.9%, which showed the huge increase of demand for nature burial. Thus, each local government should carry forward the policies for expanding the supply of public nature burial focusing on the woodland burial showing the high preference of users of public nature burial. Third, even though the public cremation facilities are installed or operated by local governments in the capital area, Seongnam City without the public cremation facilities should install the public nature burial for the enhancement of users convenience by providing the One Stop Total Funeral Service.

Third, Empty container and Tranship container are the factor of Busan city traffic jam but their was excluded from container tax. This is deviate from equilibrium of the tax object. Forth, it has bad influence upon the competitiveness of Busan Port as Northeastern logistics base, as other ports who are competing with Busan Port like china, Taiwan, Japan's port make their competitiveness strong by decreasing the cost of port dues.

A Study on the condition for the Sustainable Exchanges Between Cities and Rural Areas - Focused on the case of Setagaya Ward and Gawaba Village in Japan - (지속적인 도농교류의 조건에 관한 관찰 - 일본의 세타가야구(世田谷區)와 가와바촌(川場村) 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims at providing necessary resources in developing the sustainable project of the exchanges between cities and rural areas in Korea. And so I investigated and analyzed the model of the Setagaya Ward and the Gawaba Village in Japan, which has successively continued the exchanges between city and rural areas for thirty years, with the documentation, field work, interviews and field investigation. The two local autonomous entities have promoted the project of the exchanges between cities and rural areas by keeping in touch with a making the second home and linking agriculture with sightseeing. They passed an agreement of mutual help and established regulations to push forward the agreement in order to carry out the agreement. And they have operated a section which will do nothing but focus on this, established a management company which takes charge of the stronghold facilities of the exchange between city and rural areas, operated a caucus to examine the project steadily and to develop new programs, and made a publicity work continually for thirty years. In conclusion, I think we should promote the joint capital stronghold facilities of the exchange between city and rural areas which is based upon the agreements. And we should promote the infrastructure like a management company which takes charge of the facilities and build the proper foundation which can develop the various programs for the exchange between city and rural areas and operate them.
